I walked up the metal stairs as I shoved my car keys into my purse. The night was humid and the sounds of crickets continued to sing off into the night.

I knocked on the door before taking a step back as I waited patiently for her to open the door. My best friend, Emily and I had made plans to go get shit faced tonight so here I was, dressed down in the skimpiest thigh high black dress I could find and those god awful heels she told me I was hot in.

I knocked again, groaning in frustration as my patience was very thin tonight. I blew a strand of hair away from my eyes as it dangled down my face. I crossed my arms and leaned my weight onto my right leg as I began tapping my foot, still waiting on the door to open.

" What the hell are you doing, Emily?" I asked more to myself as I reached up to knock again.

Before my hand was able to knock, the metal door that had been painted white and chipped away over the years, gently swung open. The blonde stood in the doorway, ajar, looking at me with wide eyes.

Why they hell isn't she dressed? It was nearing ten and she wanted to be at the club by ten thirty. I eyed her body before furrowing my brows at her.

" What the hell, Emily?"

" Hey"

" Don't hey me" I snapped. " Why aren't you dressed?"

She didn't say anything. Instead, those ocean blue eyes stared at me before looking back over her shoulder in the apartment, blocking me so I couldn't see what was behind her back.

" Who's in there?" I asked.

" No one" she shook her head.

" Bullshit"

I pushed her out of the way and stormed past her. I stopped as I now stood in her small living room. My heart began pounding against my chest as my blood pressure rised.

" Ethan?" I spoke in a surprised tone.

It didn't take a genius for me to understand what was going on. I just walked in on my best friend and boyfriend fucking.

I began to sarcastically chuckle as I turned back to face the blonde that stared at me with regret. I wanted to drag this bitch. Ten years of friendship gone because she wanted to get pumped full by someone who's dick is the size of my thumb.

I pointed back to Ethan who was now standing, watching the exchange between Emily and myself.

" This is what you were doing, instead of getting ready?" I laughed.

" I can explain" she cried.

I put my hand up to stop her. She isn't explaining shit to me.

" Thanks. But no thanks"

Without hesitation, I done as I always done whenever I came over to her place. I stormed off into the kitchen. I could hear her and Ethan mumble some BS to one another as I stopped in front of her refrigerator and swung it open.

I glanced around the near empty box. Why has this bitch not gone shopping? How does she survive? Must be from snacking on my boyfriend.

I ignored her calls to me as she asked what I was doing. I finally spotted the bottle of wine that hid away in the back behind an almost empty carton of milk. I grabbed it before shutting the door so hard, it knocked everything on top over.

I walked back into the living room where they were as I took a big swig. The sour wine erupted on my taste buds as I come to a stop in front of Ethan. I gave him a smile as I held the bottle in the air.

" Up for a threesome?" I asked as I took another drink.

His eyes grew as a disgusting grin formed across his face. God I couldn't stand this man. The only reason I'm even upset is because it was my best friend I found fucking him.

" Are you serious?" He asked. Excitement in his tone.

I smiled as I held the sour alcohol in my mouth before spitting into his face. " Of course not, you pig"

I smiled to myself as he huffed at the sudden alcohol that was spat all over him. I turned back to see Emily watching in disgust and horror. I made my way across the room and back towards her, but not before placing my arm on her mantle that lined the wall, knocking everything she had placed on it off.

The crash noise caused her to jump and shoot her eyes in my direction and away from Ethan. Emily knew she had crossed the line with me. She also knew Crossing a boundary with me was met with chaos.

I stopped in front of her, a frown now resting on my annoyed face. I clinched my teeth together as I eyed her. Ten years gone because she had to get off with someone she knew was off limits. Who am I kidding, she didn't get off.

" Your wine is bad" I said as I flipped the bottle I was holding in my hand, causing the red drink to dump all over her carpet.

I looked at the mess I had just made before looking back at her. Rage filled behind her blue eyes and I wanted nothing more than to see her lash out.

I shrugged my shoulders as I gave her a pouty face. " Oops"

Without another word, I pushed past her and headed back out into the humid summer night. My heels clicked against the concrete as I stormed down the steps and back across the parking lot to my jeep.

I sighed as I slid into the driver's seat. Turning the ignition and starting up my AC. I glanced back up at the apartment but it seems she had already closed the door. I grabbed my phone out of my purse before quickly dialing in a number.

If anyone can make me feel better, it's him. I put the phone to my ear and listened as it rang two times on my end. The familiar chirpy voice picked up the phone.

" Ray" the voice chirped into the phone.

I smiled at the sound of his voice. " Hey, good looking. Up for a few drinks?"
