The afternoon was quite hotter than normal. Tom got out from bed sluggishly after his siesta and headed to the kitchen to fix himself up with something fast. He rubbed his eye lazily to get a clearer view while dragging himself to the kitchen.

He was too lazy to to prepare something heavy and foody. He has subjected himself to eating light food and hunks since his wife left him. He hasn't been himself since that very first day he saw the written note his wife left for him.

He fixed himself up with an omelette and tea and gulped it down his hungry throat. It was almost evening by this time.

He entered his bathroom momentarily to shower. The water was still drizzling down over his head when image of Sophia appeared in his head. He just came back from work two weeks ago too when he saw the notes that left him thinking till date. He waved the thoughts off his mind and proceeded into his room to dry his wet body.He ransacked his wardrobe and picked a light cloth to wear.

Tom kicked the engine of his old Toyota car to life and hit it on the road. He has been using the car for the past six years and he has managed to keep it in one piece, although the car parts was all weak and weary.

His mind was greatly troubled. He was fiddling with the steering and was trying hard not to hit the roadside culverts.

Tom has been acting all weird since his wife left him with a note only him seems to understand. He would sometimes wince and cry at night.

His eyes was all bulgy and swollen, he has been refusing to sleep for the past two days. The thought of his lovely wife was all over him. Heaven knows that he loves his wife but she wouldn't just understand, her family was putting to much pressure on her. He didn't blame her.

Tom kicked his old car back to life the third time in the last twenty minutes on the lonely road.

It's almost 6pm now. Tom was all alone on the deserted lonely road, he wouldn't wait for another minute. He fiddled hastily with few wires of the car, fixed it and kicked the engine back to life the fourth time.

"BASS AND BAIT BAR" was boldly written on the buildings board. He packed into the carlot and proceeded into the bar. "3Bs", as Tom usually calls it became his place of solitude ever since his wife left him. He always get there by 6pm every evening but he was a bit late today due to his faulty car that always have new problem everyday.

"Yoo Tom, you arrived late today" an hefty drunken man called on his name.

Tom grunted in reply and proceeded to his usual corner to get his usual glass of gin with a little lemon.

"Akira, bring my usual please".

"Alright Tom".

Tom savoured the scent of the lemon intensively before eventually dipping it inside the gin. He starts sipping it slowly and carefully, as if he was trying not to spill the gin.

"I just discovered that the new family house of Brians just got robbed three hours ago and the local vigilantes are still trying to apprehend the perpetrators", an average aged man whose name was Sam initiated the conversation.

"I caught wind of the news too. I also heard that the thieves got their hands on some bags of cash" another man replied him.

"I hope the news isn't true" replied another.

" It should be easy for the vigilantes to apprehend them. I heard from an eye witness that they were on foot, about five of them I guess and they were all on mask. They may probably be hiding somewhere now", Sam added as he gulped down the remaining vodka in his cup.

"Really!!?"

"Are they really on foot with bags of cash" the second man asked in surprise.

"Yeah man. I guess so. That was what I heard from the eye witness.

Tom was already getting annoyed by their chitty chat and he tried hard to concentrate more on his drink.

Soon enough, he got lost in reminisces of how he met Sophia.
