I have always been clear about two things in life. One, Life is not something that we choose. Two, everything happens for a reason.

My name is Abi short for Abigail, Currently a college student doing my masters in accounts. Graduation is around the corner and I am super elated to explore the world beyond my books and finally out of this house. Reason, I am a single child and my Mom never let's me leave the house for group studies or any other purpose like even field trips. She loves me dearly and wants my presence like some spirit to always be around her. You could always hear 'Abi!come here! Abi! Help me! Abi!', ugh... That's my life. Then comes my amazing Dad, an accountant in the great State bank. He is literally the pillar of my life or to say the decision maker and is always by my side. Daddy's little girl it is.

Right now my life is just peaceful enough that anything I want I get it

well not everything

and everything I need is near me. But you know theirs this saying that everything has an end whether it is good or bad. I have never had friends in my life from my childhood till now, no trust worthy souls and love experience is beyond my level. I'm used to distancing myself from people who try to get close to me because then things get nasty. It's like your the one who has to face all the problems, whether it's your mistake or not and that's what I fear the most.

I remember this one incident that occurred when I was just 5 years old. I mean I know that's too young but I learnt a lot from it. A friend who was a boy and that's something that I would never tell my parents about that I used to sneak out of my house to go play with him like theirs no tomorrow. Smiley and funny guy. But damn I don't remember his face. Yet the best part of the memory is that I remember the place where we used to meet and probably his favorite jacket that he wore like always saying it was a symbol of luck in his life. One fine day while we both were playing under a huge tree, the boy suddenly pushed me to the ground and shielded my small self with his skinny body. Confused I heard a gunshot and then the next thing I remembered was sound of sirens and shouts till I ended up in the hospital. I never spoke of the incident because who knows what would have happened. So, I just asked why I was admitted. Mom was the one to answer. All tears as dad stood next to her comforting. She said that their was a fight between the local cops and a criminal. The criminal had a gun to threaten the cops but the victim was non other than the little boy. I bolted up straight from the bed staring into the white wall processing the whole thing. Is h-he still alive? At the moment I felt God was unfair. Crying all night while everyone were asleep. They even stated that the boy had no family and he was just an homeless lad. But nobody ever knew that he was my friend and only friend that I ever trusted. Eventually my mom found out that I sneaked out so from then on she never let me out of her sight. I'll never forget his sacrifice...A death in cost of protecting me was it worth? I always missed times with the little boy, from the first handshake to the last laugh under the tree... I missed him and yet I never knew his name. From then on many years have passed and I never found a friend like him. I used to think of the memories and smile but sometimes cry alone at night because of the nightmares haunted. Why did he save me with his life? Was the only thing that kept running through my mind. Why?

Thinking of all this and looking out the window at the small crowded street as I sipped my sweet tea- bang! Almost spilling my tea.The door was open wide and there stood my mother with happiness written all over her face.

"You got a job that I personally chose!" mom exclaimed. Wait what?! I did want to explore but not by doing some job in fact I am not ready to work under a some firm!

"Mom please I am not mentally or physically ready to do any job for anyone at the moment!", I said with all my might placing my precious cup of tea on the table because that's the truth. All I wanted was to learn more and see more...well...job was saved for later in my wish list.

"You cannot argue with me in this matter and remember I won't let you to just sit and hatch eggs in this house young lady you have completed your masters next a job that's life and It's not a request but an order... You have no choice but to work" she spurted out all the words like fire. Her eyebrows in a clear knit furrow.

Shoot she's angry. Okay inner peace hoo~ "Where am I going to work?" I ask curious yet half convicted.

According to my 'Guide to my mom book' chapter 16...If my mom is searching a job for me then she will strictly make sure that there will be no boys of my age and it would definitely be the safest place on Earth. So, I have no hope in liking this job.

"You remember aunt Mary's family friend who we met during Mr and Mrs Davis's wedding?" Going down the memory lane... Processing... Nope I have no idea if I deny a new set of lecture and a not so peaceful dinner. So, easy way to escape is to simply agree.

"Yes! Of course how can I forget them" I say enthusiastically with an awkward laugh. I am a terrible liar. Face palming moment.

"Finally! Thank God you remembered...anyways they want an accountant for their enormous mansion and they are currently working on some business regarding few staples on their large acre yard and so to manage all of those the head of the business Mr. Hawthrone needs an accountant..... And when he mentioned this to aunt Mary she recommended you.....Then he saw your resume and you have met all the requirements it seems and So~ now the accountant position is yours", I could clearly see that she is on cloud 9. Gripping on my shoulders yearning for an agreement. What to do I have no other choice. I let out huge sigh looking at her happy state.

"Okay fine...where is this mansion and their large acre yard?" I asked with fake enthusiasm. Fear slowly creeping up on me. I am gonna work. Can I do it
