Introduction
In a twist of fate, she, pregnant with a child, was forced to marry her paralyzed brother-in-law in place of her sister. He treated her with cold indifference, yet at night, a mysterious man would completely ravish her. One day, her supposedly paralyzed husband surprised her by pinning her down with unexpected strength, and Winter realized she had been deceived all along. Furious and humiliated, she exclaimed, "Carl, aren't you supposed to be paralyzed?" In the next moment, Carl grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his embrace, and kissed her lips. With a devilish whisper, he said, "Be good, it's time for our second child.”

"Do you regret it?" The hot, masculine breath surrounded her from behind, and his lips pressed against her skin, making her tremble.

Winter Haywood felt her cheeks flush, and she was stunned. All her nerves seemed to focus on that spot, but as she thought of her mother, Elizabeth Haywood, who was still waiting for rescue, she gritted her teeth and endured the pain.

"No... I don't regret it."

The sharp pain hit her, and she almost fainted.

After the man finished, he went to the bathroom to take a shower. The money was placed on the bedside table.

Winter didn’t have time to look at the man's appearance; she picked up the cash and rushed out of the hotel, holding back her discomfort.

When she arrived at the hospital, she stuffed all the money in her bag into the doctor's hands. "Doctor, I have money. Please save my mom.”

"You need to pay the bill first, and we will prepare for the operation immediately."

"I'll be right there!" Winter rushed to pay the bill, praying at the door that her mother would be okay.

Two hours later, the door to the operating room opened, and a doctor came out. "Miss Winter, your mother's surgery was successful, but I have some bad news."

"We found a malignant tumor in her bladder and connected the blood vessels. We can’t risk cutting her open right now. We need to consult with our top doctors first."

Winter felt like she had been struck by lightning and almost lost her balance. "How dangerous is it?”

"It's hard to say. If it affects the arteries, it could lead to the patient's death due to shock. So, Miss Winter, you'll need to prepare another sum of money. We can discuss how to proceed after that."

"How… how much will it cost this time?"

"The operation and follow-up treatment will be about sixty-nine thousand dollars."

Sixty-nine thousand? Where could she find that kind of money?

But for her mother's life, she had to do everything she could.

"Okay, doctor. Give me a few days. I will try to get enough money."

"You need to act quickly because we don’t know if the tumor will affect the blood vessels. If that happens, it will be more difficult to save her."

"I understand."

Winter sat on a bench, feeling powerless. Anxiety burned in her heart. How could she get sixty-nine thousand dollars in just a few days? She took out her mobile phone to look for someone to borrow money from.

Finally, she came across her father Wilson's name.

Although she did not want to have anything to do with this so-called father, she had no choice; it was for her mother's life. Reluctantly, she dialed Wilson’s number.

"Hi Dad, can I ask you for some money? Mom's life depends on it."

"Just in time. Where are you? I need to talk to you about something as well. Don't worry about the money; I'll give you any amount you need when I come."

"Okay, Dad. I'll send you the hospital address."

After hanging up the phone, Winter felt a bit relieved. Wilson was willing to give her the money, which meant her mother would be saved.

Filled with hope, she waited impatiently for her father to arrive. She even felt she should not have been so harsh with him in the past.

After all, they were related by blood. As long as he could save her mother this time, she could overlook his abandonment of his wife and children.

Wilson arrived at the hospital in record time, accompanied by Winter's stepmother, Susan Haywood, and her half-sister, Ashley Hunter.

"Winter."

Upon hearing Wilson's voice, Winter stood up hastily, feeling as if she had found a lifeline.

"Dad, have you brought the money?”

"It's easy to talk about money. I have only one request for you now. If you agree to my terms, I will immediately pay any amount you want to save your mother."

The expectation on Winter's face instantly froze, but she couldn’t help but ask,

"What is it?”
