"Expeditors International," one of the three financial magnates in Chicago City, although not as powerful as the first-rate Phoenix Group in Chicago City, stands equally with Denver's Corporation. Daniel Harris, the mastermind behind it all, at a young age, earthquaked the business world by swallowing up fringe SMEs one by one, solidifying its position as one of the top tycoons.

It's safe to say that Daniel Harris single-handedly established Expeditors International. At only twenty-nine, no one knew how he transformed or how he accomplished it; only pure, dazzling envy loomed in the air.

A luxurious private car stopped in front of Expeditors International. "Uncle Christopher, you have to send your daughter abroad; you don't have to worry about me anymore. I'll go back directly after delivering these documents to Daniel," said the woman who just got out of the car with a tranquil and clear voice.

“Miss Madison, thank you,” the middle-aged driver was grateful; he had thought he would have to break his promise to his daughter again because driving Madison is part of his duty.

Madison smiled warmly at him, and the moment she turned around, she subconsciously looked up at the golden signboard of "Expeditors International." Her beautiful face turned pale instantly, her heart stung slightly, the breeze blew her silky hair, which slipped behind her ears, and a wordless sorrow emanated from her entire body.

With the rapidly elevating elevator, Ava Madison's face gradually calmed down; a warm smile hung on her cherry-red lips.

"Secretary Lily, is Daniel inside?"

"Yes, the president said, you can go in."

Daniel Harris's secretary was extremely unfriendly, casually glancing at Ava Madison. Who doesn't know that Miss Ava is just one of the many lovers of the president? They are natural enemies.

The president didn't seem to favour her that much on normal days. In Secretary Lily's eyes, Ava Madison is just a shameless woman who sticks to Daniel Harris for money. Does she think that by ingratiating herself with the president's grandmother, she can become the mistress of the Harris family? What an overestimation of her abilities.

Madison is used to this kind of attitude. She fully understands that Daniel Harris calls her over just to have her endure these cold stares. "Thank you."

Her humiliating attitude made Secretary Lily even more disdainful. Thinking of the good show that would follow, despite her discomfort, the thought of Ava Madison's poor face made her rose-coloured lips curve into a bizarre smile.

Ava Madison adjusted herself a few times before showing her most heartwarming smile and knocking on the door. "Come in," a very low voice floated from inside.

"Daniel, I don't care; you promised to buy me that diamond." The woman was wearing a bright red dress, with a fiery and enchanting figure, octopus-like, draped over Daniel Harris; their posture was very intimate.

The man's long fingers were playing with the woman's dry and yellow hair, his thick eyebrows slightly furrowed, but upon hearing the faint footsteps, he retracted his displeasure well.

The man's hand reached out, pulling open the woman's clothes over her chest, where signs of springtime were vaguely visible. The woman gave a shy gasp, leaning even more deeply into the man's embrace, basking in the warmth his palm brought to her chest.

Ava Madison's breath hitched slightly, a pang in her heart as if a million hands were clenching it ruthlessly. The warmth within her seemed to drain away bit by bit.

"Daniel, here are the documents you asked for."

Setting the documents on the table, she turned to leave, feeling out of place in this moment. Yet, she hesitated.

"The words you said last night, I thought about it; if this is what you wish, I am willing to leave."

Having said her piece, she walked out without looking back. She had spent the best six years of her life, trading them for a love she would never receive. That was enough.

Watching her retreating figure, Daniel's eyes narrowed dangerously, his hand clenching hard. "Ah, you hurt me," the woman on his lap cried out in pain.

"Get out," Daniel shoved the woman off him. His ice-cold words were so harsh they nearly made her faint. She said no more, quickly fixing her clothes and fleeing from his office in a hurry.

Ava Madison, do you think everything would end if you left? You're dreaming. Daniel's handsome face twisted, filled with malevolent fury.
