Overcast skies, a light drizzle.

A man stood hands-behind on the cliff edge.

His silhouette was tall and lonely, much like a stone statue. His features were exquisite with no discernible expression on his face, lips pursed into a tight line, and eyes as tranquil as placid ancient wells.

Below the precipice was an expansive sea. The position where he stood was perilous – one more step forward, and he would be suspended in mid-air.

A gust of wind howled past, loosening a few pebbles under his feet, some of which ended up in the sea.

Undeterred, he remained there, only looking down slightly at the woman below the cliff.

Haze was bound only by a thin rope. She hung off the edge of the cliff, with the roar of the wind and the swaying rope making her heart pound in her throat. Fear rendered her unable to scream.

She tentatively looked down, only to find azure-blue seawater about a meter under her feet. The vastness of the sea made her feel even smaller. She could only cling desperately to the thin rope. However, a deep wound on her right arm was so painful, she could barely exert any strength.

Blood kept flowing down, eventually dripping onto the sea surface.

There was a school of sharks nearby. The blood in the water soon attracted them.

They were swarming beneath her feet, some even bursting out of the water, opening their wide, bloody mouths.

Haze only took one glance. On seeing the sharp teeth in the sharks' mouths and the gaping maw, big enough to swallow half of her,‍ she let out a scream and promptly drew her legs up.

However, the thin rope couldn't bear the strain any longer and snapped just then.

"Ah——"

With a shriek, Haze sat up in bed, soaked in a chill sweat.

So, it was a nightmare.

The shrill alarm was ringing. After a brief moment to gather herself, she picked up her phone to turn off the alarm, only to realize she was already twenty minutes late.

Haze was a senior student facing graduation, looking for jobs everywhere. And that day was her interview day.

And right now.. she was going to be late.

Rushing into the entrance of the company, she asked the receptionist for the interview location, hastily entered the elevator, and then sprinted all the way to the small meeting room where the interview was to be held. Before entering, she didn't forget to tidy her hair, dress and take a few deep breaths to regulate her breathing.

Pushing the door open and walking into the room, she saw a moderate-sized conference table set in the middle, with chairs on both sides. A man was sitting at the edge of the table.

When Haze looked at the man, as per her habit, she first looked at his face. But this one look, left her somewhat stunned. This man, was the handsomest man she'd seen so far!

Clean-cut facial features, pair of extremely good-looking black eyes, peaceful eye expression. High-bridged nose, thin lips gently pursed.

The man was dressed in a black handmade suit, clean and tidy. Inside was a white shirt, without a tie. Leaning back in the chair, his long legs crossed, and his hands resting on his knee, the knuckles distinctively clear and jade-like. At first glance, they were clearly the hands of someone who lived a life of luxury.

This man, from head to toe, screamed 'pride.'

"Hello, I am here for the interview. My name is Haze Chambers." Haze approached him, very politely speaking, a light smile hanging on her face.

The man raised an eyebrow when he heard the name, "Unclear presence? This name... quite creative!"

He glanced up at her with an indifferent and calm look in his eyes.

"Hello, I'm interviewing for a trainee designer position, here's my resume." While speaking, Haze opened the folder in her hands and took out her resume.

However, it seemed like something red in the resume folder fell out...

Haze narrowed her eyes attentively, then suddenly widened them.

A… A condom?!

How did it appear here?

Though Haze had no idea where it came from, she quickly responded, attempting to take the condom away. However, the man beat her to it.

"You're too slow." The man put both his hands on the table, playing with the condom in his hands, with a faint smile on his face, looking up at her.

"Miss Unclear presence, what is the meaning of this?" He pinched the condom between his index and middle fingers.

The thing Haze hated most in life was people addressing her by the meaning of her name, Haze, as it meat 'Unclear presence!'

Now this man before her had said it directly 'Unclear presence.' Had he considered her feelings at all?

This made her angry, but she still had to keep her smile. After all, he was the interviewer.

Haze, looking at the condom, wore a somber face. She was brainstorming desperately.

"Many have tried to ask me out, but you're the first to be so suggestive," the man's voice was gentle and soft as if a feather tickling her heart.

Haze trembled slightly, thought for half a minute, but didn't come up with a good explanation, so she decided to quickly change the topic!

"Oops, all a misunderstanding," Haze said cheerfully, extending her hand to grab the condom from him.

The man, however, clenched his fist, hiding the condom in his palm.

His movement made Haze feel a bit cornered. She licked her dry lips and said, "Let's proceed with the interview, shall we?"

She tidied up her resume and placed it in front of him: "I am a senior student at East University, and I'm here for an interview for the position of fashion designer..."

She didn't finish her words when she was cut off by the man: "Sorry, Miss Unclear presence, our company will not employ you."

"Why? You haven't even looked at my resume yet." Haze was shocked, "Besides, what right do you have to speak on behalf of this company?"

The company she was interviewing for was the largest group company in East City, how could a mere interviewer represent it?

"Because I'm going to be the president of this company." He glanced at his watch, then stood up and straightened his clothes. "I don't want my employees to think about their boss all day long. This will greatly affect work efficiency."

Haze was stunned. Did he just say he was about to become the company's CEO? Did she hear wrong...?

She had a twitch at the corner of her mouth, seeing the man had already turned around, appearing to be leaving.

"Hey, why didn’t you tell me I had misidentified the interviewer?" Haze shouted from behind him.

The man's steps didn't halt as he walked away and said, "If you can't even recognize your own interviewer, you can't be a qualified company employee. Besides, your purpose here isn't even to interview."

As his words trailed off, he opened the door and walked out of the meeting room.

"I've said it was a misunderstanding!" She swiftly picked up her resume and followed out.

Outside was a long corridor, with offices on both sides, and Edward’s figure had disappeared.

Uncertain of which office he entered, and not daring to ask rashly, Haze had no choice but to give up and go looking for the correct interview location.

However, before she could locate the interview spot, two burly security guards had 'escorted' her out of the company.
