The thick canopies of trees resisted any moonlight to reach the ground. The moon in the sky along with the tall trees added more mystique beauty to the woods. It was a cold December night. And there stood two large rogue wolves in all their glory with an intelligent gleam in their eyes. Their faces showed as if they were not some dumb animals but sensible beings, and their size made it clear they weren't ordinary wolves as standing on all their fours, they stood a foot taller than an average human.
One of them had grey fur with some dark grey patches. Its grey almost shone white in the moonlight. Other had a complete black fur, serving as a camouflage in the dark night. Their eyes flickered golden. The grey beast was sniffing like a police hound trying to catch a sent of some fugitive. Frustration was evident in its eyes. The black one stood on its ground in an attacking position, ready to pounce on any being coming within proximity.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the distant, grasping the attention of both the canines. The shrouding darkness didn't seem to alter their vision. They saw a large fleeing being. It was neither a human nor an animal, but a giant beast that stood only on two legs. Another sound was heard, this time snapping of a thin piece of wood.
The wolves were already after the man-animal being. Their growling showed their anger and excitement of the chase. They were fast but the creature was faster. Thump of their paws clashed with the eerie silence of night. Their speed so high that they couldn't even be caught by normal human eyes.
The creature finally came to a halt. His features now visible. His eyes shone red like rubies. His body was covered with blackish-blue hairs
or fur
, holding scars. They were hideous patches where hairs would never grow. His face showed features that of a human but it clearly wasn't. It was a mixture of a human and a wolf head, which fitted with its demonic body perfectly. His large body stood tall. Two large canines dropped from the inside of its upper lip. A string of saliva was visible as he opened his mouth. The creature's red eyes glimmered as if he was laughing at the foolishness of the two hounds.
As soon as the black wolf positioned itself for an attack, growling sounds were heard. The two wolves looked around in confusion. But soon their bafflement turned into horror.
More ruby red eyes were floating around them looking at their two scared preys.
