About 12 years ago the day I turned five I was accepted into the Clover Moon pack. :
An old woman had brought me
there from a nearby hospital after I couldn't recover any memory.
However, it would seem I was a werewolf, I had no reignition of anything or what that was, just the old lady and the hospital bed I woke up from. They did tests to make sure I wasn't a normal human and my tests came back as a werewolf. They assumed I was a stray with no pack or family name, and no relatives to any packs in the country. They told me I was an off breed or a child of some rogue wolf who probably died or left me for the dead to save themselves.
I was found near the border of the Clover forest nearly dead from frostbite, hunger, and dehydration during the colder season. A pack of regular wolves found me and dragged me to a beta werewolf leading the pack and training them for hunting. He was on vacation and the beta of the Silver Moon pack, of the highest rankings around.
The beta took pity on me and brought me to a hospital so I could recover.
I recovered fine, but I never did remember anything of what had happened to me or my parents. So the silver moon beta ordered an investigation on me or any nearby territories that may have missing children, but it was all in vain cause he didn't find out a thing. The only thing they could go by was a backpack with a name on it, that said
Aranya
. In my backpack was a second pair of clothes, a map, and empty water with the same name that was on my backpack.
The beta's name is David and he befriended me while I was at the hospital, and brought me a series of gifts one was a sketchbook and colored pencils. Turns out I loved to draw and for a five-year-old, I wasn't half bad. I guess he thought maybe he could figure out more about me in the things I drew, however, I only drew a lady looking at the moon, I was attracted by this thought and it was all I could draw at that time. They figured it was a distant memory of my mother and didn't look into it. I kept the pictures I drew of her at the hospital, to cling to and imagined what it would be like if she was here with me. I cried every night at the hospital, I wanted a family. I wanted to go home but had no idea where that home was or who my family is. David comforted me many times with a pat on the head and assured me I would find a new family, but if only he'd known how terrible the Clover moon pack is. A lady from the Lost Wolf Orphanage came to pick me up from the hospital, and David ordered the Clover moon pack to take me in.
The Silver Moon pack was in high rankings due to the strong alpha blood that runs in their veins, Almost all members are of an alpha bloodline, but then there's the king of all alphas Jupiter named after a Roman God from folklore. David was his brother, second in command of the alpha bloodline that triumphs all other packs.
The lady from the orphanage picked me up in a car wearing a black robe, she was very old. She drove me to the Clover Moon pack, where it was surrounded by a wall to block out any invaders. David had handed the old lady a letter addressed to the leader of the pack, and the lady handed it over to the werewolves that met us at the front gate.
The werewolves quickly ran inside and shortly after the alpha came out
Raphael
he spoke in a raspy voice.
"Where is the stray child?" It sounded cold and harsh in his tone. The old lady opened the back door to let me out and greet him, But the alpha only shook his head at me. I was afraid of him and tried to hide behind the old lady. She said back to him, "This is the girl."
Raphael hollered at the old lady "What is that silly beta thinking, we can barely feed ourselves let alone some random stray he has compassion for?" Chills were sent down my spine from his yell I almost started to cry how I didn't know what was going on.
The old lady spoke, "dear alpha
Raphael
the beta of the silver moon ordered you to take this young girl in your care. Are you going to deny the authority of the second head of all alphas? Also To mention he got permission from the head alpha master
Jupiter
. Just check the seal on that note." She pointed to the letter that was given to him, and he indeed looked angrier as if he didn't have a choice but to take me in.
He said nothing in return to the lady except "fine." As he looked at a werewolf seal that had the look of silver. For some reason, a voice inside me spoke to me. "That's silver don't touch it." Which made me more scared clenching the lady's robe. She looked at me and said. "Deer silver hurting a werewolf is a myth." Then the voice inside spoke to me again. "Sorry, my assumption." I couldn't tell if it was playing jokes on me or not. It sounded like a female voice and for some reason I heard strange laughter. Though I didn't say anything about the voice in front of the alpha and the old lady and began to cry cause It felt like this voice made fun of me just now.
The alpha raged at me. "Kid if you want to live you better not cry in my presence!" I felt his alpha voice come out pushing me, but it didn't push me down, because a voice inside felt stronger. "Don't bend to him we are stronger!" I couldn't believe where this voice came from, it didn't make sense she was loud and clear. Was It from some kind of head injury?
though I was just a child then, I had no clue what it was, cause it remained silent after that for a long time until I turned 12.
The alpha took me into the Clover Moon Pack and from the day I entered I was a slave. They made me do things for them and treated me like dirt, and if I cried I was beaten unconscious I wished that voice I heard outside the gates before I entered was with me now.
Day five in the Clover moon pack.
"Hey, bastard kid!" I looked and saw a big man hollering at me making me shiver, I didn't say anything cause he was big to me and scary, how I was only five. "You should come here when I call for you." I didn't go over and mumbled to him which I probably shouldn't have, cause what came next was horrible.
I said. "Sir, my name is Aranya, I won't come unless you call me by my name."
For some reason, the guy stepped back, which made him very angry, as other werewolves busted out in laughter saying. "Dan, you are afraid of this little itty bitty bastard kid?" The werewolf shook his head and stepped forward walking toward me, and he looked angry like he could blow a fist through a mountain angry. He looked at me with stern eyes and spoke. "Kid your name is Bastard don't you know? Everyone else knows seeing how they just called you that? "
I felt my heart sink at the comment, and it hurt. If I was with my younger self I would have hugged her right there, knowing the complications that came next. "Awe you made the brat cry!" People said laughing in the background. They all looked at me as trash, something that was discarded and thrown away and couldn't even be recycled.
"Look at me when I am speaking to you!" He Hollard. Finally, someone spoke behind me. "What is the meaning of this disturbance!" I recognized the voice it was the alpha
Raphael
.
I had a glimpse of hope that the guy would be yelled at as to seeing he was the cause of this scene. But instead, the alpha looked at me, "why are you bothering my beta?" He said in a fierce tone. I didn't speak but I looked at him confused, as I heard laughter from the other werewolves around. I tried to speak and answer " I didn't mean..." Interrupted When a hard slap went across my face knocking me to the ground and making me bite my tongue. I spat blood on the ground the taste of iron turned my stomach as I swallowed a little bit. I busted into tears when I heard another roar as I was kicked into the abdomen.
"I said not to cry in front of me!"
After that my conscience slipped and everything went dark, I heard him in the background.
"Leave her to let her shame be seen throughout the whole pack,"
The beta replied with a question. "Won't she freeze to death?"
I didn't know why but I think he pitied me. Other voices were just laughter I even felt someone walk on me.
It was during the evening and after four hours has passed the weather dropped to 29 degrees. It felt like I was almost about to freeze to death when I felt something wet on my face. A normal wolf, while the streets were clear this wolf licked my face looking at me with sad eyes. If hadn't been for this wolf I would have frozen to death. I sat up looking at the wolf, it was a female wolf. She placed her head on my shoulder and it was crazy, but I think she hugged me, and with this hug, I was healed and warmed up. "Who are you?" I asked. The wolf wasn't a normal wolf now that it did that. It licked the blood off my face and she didn't answer me. it just stood by my side, that's when I remembered I was told to stay in the barn." I got off the cold ground and the wolf stood by me, as no one was in sight until. "Hey, you!" I heard someone say. I saw a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, "if you don't hurry I will lock you out of the barn." Must be the owner of the barn. The wolf ran with me to the barn, wait? "Didn't he see the wolf?" I questioned looking back at him.
I slept inside the barn on my sixth night and this wolf kept me warm through the cold temperatures that reached only five degrees. It cuddled me and to be honest I cried. because it looked like I wasn't gonna have a fair life. Maybe this wolf was the moon Goddess I heard about in legend, and she took pity on me and was comforting me? Anyways with the wolf being near, I slept soundly. I woke up to someone throwing something at me. A shovel hit me in the head almost putting me back to sleep. "Get to work brat!" The blond-haired wolf said. I asked him holding my head. "What do you want me to do?" He left outside the barn and signaled for me to follow him. I followed him outside. He pointed to the alpha's mansion and said. "Shovel the roof and the sidewalks around, and when you're done with that, you can focus on the rest of the sidewalks throughout the town." My eyes widen at this chore. I knew I was gonna freeze to death since it was colder today than yesterday and this snow. I thought I would surely die, but after yesterday they will kill me if I don't.
I noticed something, as I was on the roof shoveling, When I woke up that wolf was gone. However today I didn't feel cold at all today it was weird. Though Sores started to build-up up on my fingertips and hands after I was done with the mansion. I was exhausted and I have to do all the town's sidewalks as well, Not to mention shoveling without gloves.
This pack loved to torture me, even when I was just a little kid. They were heartless. Other kids started throwing snowballs at me, making my job harder once I started on the town, they even kicked snow in my shoveled area, making it look like a crappy job When I made it look spotless. It was 3:00 a.m. and I was almost done shoveling when the Alpha of the pack met me at the end of the town. I noticed blood dripping from my hands as they were blue and I collapsed to my knees being exhausted. The alpha pointed behind me with an angry expression, I looked back at the sidewalks and began a silent cry. All the work I had done Was gone. It started snowing five hours ago and I was too exhausted to notice that snowing would be pointless to shovel. I could also see spots of blood mixed in the snow from my hands.
I nearly passed out from exhaustion, however, I didn't feel cold, even though the temperature was minus degrees by now. Laying in the snow with a shovel in hand I saw Raphael walk closer to me. He stood 6 feet tall. "You must be the stupidest kid alive to shovel in a snowstorm." I barely answered. "I didn't want to fail.' He laughed and laughed hard. "You failed, and failed miserably!" He just kept laughing as he said that what I did was funny like something you see off the internet nowadays. I was only five and they made me do this and mocked me for it.
Raphael said walking back looking comfortable in his warm clothes and proper winter gear. "If you don't want to die, walk back to the barn if you can. T The owner left you some moldy bread, figured since you are nothing more than a worthless rat that should do." He then left out of sight.
I felt defeated and cried lying there in the cold, and I cried aloud as everyone was in their warm cozy homes with a family probably drinking hot chocolate. I stared at the home nearby, seeing a family late at night through the window drinking something warm and their kid had the biggest smile on his face, I imagined as if I was him instead. What it would be like to drink hot cocoa at 3:00 am with my parents.
