Within the dimly lit, windowless room, Shangguan Yuno's petite body shivered, curled up into a ball. Her hair, damp with cold sweat, stuck to her neck. Her lips moved as she muttered softly, almost inaudibly, calling out for a girl named "Vivi". Her head rocked back and forth, seemingly shaking uncontrollably.
Yuno lay on the icy concrete floor, panting heavily. Her reddened eyes continued to shed silent tears. She had been locked up in this lightless room for an entire week now. Vivi had stumbled from the building, falling right before her eyes, a whole fortnight ago.
The fall had blindsided her, happened right before her eyes.
That kidnapping, was the beginning of her nightmares.
How badly she wished this was simply a nightmare, that it wasn't really happening, that Vivi was still alive. She must be alive!
Yet, what concerned her more was that man, that man who was heartbroken for Vivi.
Suddenly, a strange noise echoed through the room. Startled, Yuno looked up. A sliver of light had sneaked into the room as the door swung open. A tall man strode in as the room flooded with revealing beams of light. The sudden brightness stunned her eyes. Yuno instinctively raised her hands to cover her eyes, feeling as if they were about to go blind, as if she might even cry blind.
Footsteps neared. Gradually, her eyes adjusted to the harsh light and she timidly looked at the approaching figure.
Tianyu's eyes were bloodshot as though he would eat someone alive. An unmistakable air of vengeance surrounding him. His face was expressionless, a picture of deathly chill. As he approached and squatted beside her, Yuno, fear evident in her eyes, asked, "Tianyu, is Vivi...?"
Before she could finish her sentence, Tianyu suddenly grabbed her hair and pulled, causing Yuno to cry out in pain, "Ah! Tianyu!"
"Hmph! Feeling the pain now?" Tianyu snorted coldly, indifferent to whether her hair could bear the tug. A ruthless, sadistic glint in his eyes, he dragged her across the room by her hair, towards the light in the center of the room, where everything was in full view.
"Ah! It hurts! It hurts!" Yuno screamed in pain, feeling as if her scalp was about to be ripped off. Tianyu, however, remained deaf to her screams, dragging her all the way under the large central light.
Trailing behind her were two thin trails of blood, traces of her skin being grazed by the rough concrete floor.
"Hmph!" A hint of wicked pleasure crossed his face as he brushed off strands of hair matted with blood, mercilessly pulled from her scalp.
Overwhelmed by pain, Yuno cried uncontrollably, her hands desperately protecting her head. In pain, yet unable to give voice to her suffering, she curled herself, whimpering like a wounded animal.
Leng Tianyu stared into her apologetic eyes, his anger flaring.
He had been deceived by her counterfeit facade before, was she planning to put on an act right under his nose again?
Did she think he would still believe her?
He squatted down, smacking her face harshly with a couple of slaps. Then, his hands reached out for her clothing. With a swift, forceful tug, he ripped her garment apart. His eyes turned cold and ruthless, “Stop looking at me with those eyes. Do you think I would pity and forgive you? Never! Absolutely never! I’ll show you what it's like to wish for death! You heartless, viperous woman!”
“Tianyu... what happened to Weiwei…” Yue Nu tearfully asked, shaking her head in disbelief, "Weiwei is dead?!"
With panic in her eyes, her hands clumsily clasped her torn clothing. What was he planning to do?!
Thinking of Weiwei, she subconsciously gripped his arm!
“Shut Up! How could my Weiwei die! Are you hoping for her death?!”
Leng Tianyu gazed at her, her eyes swollen and her complexion sallow, her body bruised.
If it were in the past, he would have been heartbroken and desired to reduce the person who hurt Yue Nu to shreds. They had grown up together and, besides Weiwei, Yue Nu was the girl he loved most. But why, why had she turned out like this!
He felt absolutely no remorse, his heart numb, harboring only hatred!
“I’m relieved if she’s not dead…" Shangguan Yue Nu managed, collapsing onto the floor.
He roughly grabbed Shangguan Yue Nu’s sweaty bangs, slamming her head onto the ground, his voice stern, “How long are you going to keep up this pretense? Don’t you feel disappointed that Weiwei isn’t dead! Do you know she has become a vegetable! Because of you, she lies there motionless, and can no longer speak to me!”
“How is that possible…” Shangguan Yue Nu widened her eyes in terror, shaking her head frantically, “No… that’s impossible…”
“You still want to refute?! Who else but you could have pushed her! Just a few days ago, you confessed your love for me. Do you think I can't see through you? You think I don't know what you're thinking? I’ll tell you, even if Weiwei dies, I'll never fall in love with you in this lifetime! Never!”
His voice was hoarse, full of hatred as he roared at her as if he wished he could tear her apart. He could no longer distinguish whether his feelings toward her were disappointment, or anger about her hurting Vivian.
His hand tightly gripped her head, banging it against the cement floor seven or eight times before he released her. The petite and fragile Yuno was already as pale as a ghost, on the verge of passing out.
The clothes on her chest were torn apart by him, revealing the lace bra underneath. Her hands that were previously protecting her clothes were now ignoring the possibility of exposure. He released her fringe and looked at her terrified face, a cruel, bloodthirsty smile spread across his features.
Yuno gripped her head in pain, looking unbelievingly at Tianyu, "Tianyu...How could you treat me like this...How could you not believe me..."
The man in front of her was unrecognisable. She couldn't believe that this was Tianyu, the elder brother she had grown up with since childhood, the one who always indulged her tantrums, the one who always spoilt her!
A tear hung on the corner of Tianyu's eye, but all that was left in his eyes was chill. He tugged on her clothes, "Scared, aren't you? It'll never happen again, I'll never be nice to you again. The old Tianyu who was with Vivian, we both fell from the 7th floor, turned to ashes and died together. The 'me' that is alive now is to avenge Vivian, to torment you, make you wish you were dead, make you regret for your life!"
With a ripping sound, Yuno's clothes were entirely torn by him. Her hands tried to struggle weakly, but he took advantage of the motion and rid her of her shirt entirely.
