It was a dark and gloomy night. I stood at my office window looking at the night sky. It would storm soon. My wolf growled impatiently in my mind

. " Conal, why do you keep me caged in your human skin, let me out so I can find our mate. I've grown restless in my wait for her. Our seed needs spilled within her. " he said. My skin crawled at how he wished to defile our mate.  It wasn't his fault. It was his animalistic nature to want to mark , claim and plant our seed. But we have been waiting for so long to find her that I have given up hope and believe that the moon goddess has not blessed us with a mate and have accepted the fact that we are fated to be mateless forever. " I have told you we do not have a mate. The moon goddess has forgotten us. I refuse to believe that she is out there still. We have searched for far to long.  I am don't searching for something that doesn't exisit." I replied.  He whined and shut off his link to me. I knew my harsh words had hurt him because I could still feel his pain and longing leaking threw our link. I reinforced the barriers between our minds.  I had work to do.

            I felt the pressure of someone wanting into my mind.  I opened my link to the pack. It was Andreas my beta. "Alpha,  we have located a coven on our territory.  It is believed that they have captives.  Lots of them from the looks of it.  Both were and human." His anger filled words echoed in my head. "Send me the location,  I am on my way.  No one enters until I am there. " I replied. He told me the location.  And I was shocked to know that it was within such close proximity to our main city. How on earth had those leeches set up a coven so close without out knowledge. Something was wrong. I felt it and so did Kanos , my wolf. I opened the window and jumped.  Changing into my fur in mid air. I stopped smelled the air in the direction Andreas said the coven to be. And sure enough I caught the scent of vampires. Lots of them. How the hell had we not noticed before. What was going on. Confused I took off in the direction of the scent.  It only took me 30 mins to arrive. It would have taken a regular wolf much longer.  But I was a Alpha.  And not just any Alpha.  I was the king. That's right the king of all were. My nose crinkled at the horrendous smell of decaying flesh. There had to be at least a hundred if not more vampires close.  But I didn't see any structures. So I was confused. Sensing my confusion Andreas came over and bowed his head before responding with "they are underground. In the sewer systems Alpha." The season had been abnormally wet. This is why we can smell them now. The sewers were flooding carrying thier scent to the surface. " I said my thoughts aloud. We had gotten lots of reports of missing weres  from around the nation. Not just wolves either.  All species were reporting missing people. More by the day. This had to be the reason.  I looked at Andreas still in his human form. He was big and muscular. I asked him through our link what his plan of attack was. He replied with "show no mercy and kill them all". With that I gave the signal to attack. Which was a long loud growl that shook the ground with its intensity.

          Once inside I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a entire kingdom.  Under our streets. How long had they been here? It had to be centuries. We made our way through the streets. Entering and slaughtering every vampire we came into contact with. We were almost to the center when a castle came into view. A fucking castle from the middle ages sit in the middle of this underground city. And again I was enraged by the fact that it had been here so long without my knowledge.  The closer to the castle we got the more pungent the smell of human blood mixed with were blood become. This angered me more. Without breaking a sweat I tore through hundreds of vampires until I stood in front of the castle doors. But they wouldn't open. No matter how hard I tried . No matter how much strength I used. They wouldn't budge a inch. Frustrated a growl escaped my throat. It's force rattled the ground and castle walls. "You can stop your beastly attack now wolf" came a strong voice from behind the doors. "Open the doors and face me then bloodsucking coward" I growled in return. " your kind cannot enter this castle on your own free will.  It is protected by ancient magic.  The only way a were enters is as a prisoner." The voice replied.  "Then come out coward" " I am yet to meet my demise. It  has been prophesied that you will end my existence. But today is not the day. Would you like to hear our tale? The tale of two kings with one queen." He replied. King.. so he is King Julian. The king of vampires. "I did not come here for some fairy tale story time.  You are on my territory. I want you off of it or I will find a way to break your spell and enter this castle "  I growled. " oh do not fret none King Conal, my cities location changes every 3 days. We shall be in a total different location before you figure out how to break the spell. It's convenient to have the Mistress of Magic as a lover. " he laughed taunting me. Of course now it makes sense on how we didn't know they was here . Up until today they wasn't. Then he said the words that made my blood freeze in my veins. "But do not worry i will take the greatest of care for your mate. Because she is to become my queen" he replied with a sadistic tone. "I do not have a mate you dumbass bag of bones" I replied. "Oh but you do. I just found her before you.  And in 2 days time she will be of age and I will take her innocence. " he laughed unmercifully.  "I do not believe your lies. I want proof. " I replied.  "Bring her here " was his reply. I couldn't not see through the stone door but a scent hit me and it left me speechless.  " MATE" growled my wolf . Then I started kicking the door with all my might causing it to crumble under the pressure.  But there was a invisible barrier that I could not cross. "Give me my mate!" I growled.  He had hid her behind me so that I couldn't see her . But her scent was heavenly and I just knew that she was beautiful.  "Please save me " came a small weak voice from behind the king of vampires. He turned and smacked her across the face spilling some blood from her lip. I still couldn't see her but I could smell her and her fear. " do not fear my beloved I will take u from here." I replied.

[  ] "Alpha , we have his witch. " Andreas said from behind me. " Bring her to me" and in a instant she was before me on her hands and knees.  "Break the barriers " I told her. She looked me up and down and licked her vile lips. The smell of her arousal hit my nose and turned my stomach. "I will lift the barrier for you my king but first I demand payment." She purred in response.  "You can have anything in the kingdom,  money is of no concern to me. Name your price witch." I growled through my teeth. " I want a night in your bed chambers " was her reply. "Granted , now bring down the barriers witch" With a twinkle in her eye she chanted the ancient words to break the barrier between my mate the vampire King and myself.   Once I was through the opening I mind linked Andreas and told him to take the witches heart. That's what she gets for thinking she could have what wasn't rightfully hers.  I heard her gasp then her body hit the ground behind me. "How dare you kill my beloved?" Screamed King Julian.  As he ran dragging my mate along with him. I still haven't been able to see her face but her body was tiny and covered in bruises from the abuse she has been receiving. The sight made my blood boil and I couldn't hold wolf at bay any longer. With a few cracks and pops I had transformed into my huge snow white wolf. A growl thundered through out the land making everything quake. "You shall not have your mate , she will be my queen and carry my child in her womb as it has been foretold " king Julian shouted from the balcony he had ran to. Rage filled me and tinted the world red through my wolf's eyes. I could hear my mate scream as her life depended on it. "I was supposed to have more time to win you over and make you love me before he found us. Curse the infernal rain for bringing our scent to the surface. I am sorry my queen I never meant for you to be harmed.  But time is of the essence and I must plant my seed before he reaches us" I heard king Julian whisper to my mate. I still had yet to learn her name or see her face. I rushed pushing my wolf to run faster than he has ever ran before.  Ripping apart any and all creatures both human and vampires alike.  Now was not the time to have a conscience. I couldn't stop to decide who was innocent and who deserves to die I just had to get to my mate before that monster defiled her. Finally after what seemed like forever but was really only five minutes I made it to the door of the bed chamber my mate was in. Without thinking or blinking a eye I burst through the doors. Her scent of sweet strawberries and mint was so thick but so was the scent of her fear.  I looked around  the room finding that it was empty. Where had she gone? There wasn't another entrance and it was too high up to survive a jump. "She's gone" my wolf cried "how can you call yourself a king when you fail to protect the only thing that matters to me ?" He shouted. I shifted back to my human skin. My wolf receded to the back of my mind and put up his barriers. I searched the room for any sign of where they could have gone. Finding a single strain of beautiful golden hair snagged on the window pane. I held it tenderly as if it was the most important thing in the world to me. "Kill everyone except his second in command bring him to our dungeons. The king has escaped with my mate I need awnsers " I said through clinched teeth to Andreas who had just entered behind me.
