I woke up in the middle of nowhere...
where am I now.
Am so scared.....
"Run Monica, we have to be strong please don't give up"
"I can't....... I can't run anymore..... please let us stop now." Monica whimpered.
She's all I have now. They already took it all.
"Get them. They are there......Find them.They can't escape." Those boys yelled.
They're about five of them.
"please save me sister, please" Monica cried as she hugged me.
"Come with me and walk qiutely." I said as I pulled her along with me
We walked further into the forest till we found a dark cave.
"Come, we'll hide in there" I said as we entered inside the cave.
She hugged me tightly and I did same as we cried in the dark.....
The firecrackers got shot and I immediately knew we were in a new year.
"We've lost everything Sis. We've lost our family and loved ones..... you've lost Ántonio for good......" she said and I wept even more as images of them all flashed into my mind.
"it's the 1st and the beginning of a new dawn. In a few hours it's gonna be bright and people are gonna be preparing the new year feast and we can't even celebrate it." Monica cried more
"I'll go'an get us some fruits to eat. stay here." I said and left.
I need to clear my head alot has really happened in one day.
I was walking deep into the dark lost in thought when something hit me on my head.
"Arrgh......." I yelled in pains before I blacked out.

I groaned as I opened my eyes gradually but forced it closed immediately the rays of sunlight ⛅ pierced into my eyes.
I tried again and again till my eyes adapted to it.
My visions are blur.
I can't see anything clearly. I closed my eyes and opened it again then took note of my environment.
I was in shabby room with a large dressing mirror and a chair.
I was tied on a very small bed in a dark room. This seems more like a store house to me cos it's so dusty.
Though they're no junk there's still no difference between it and a store house.
"Sleeping beauty is awake" one of those fools said.
"Let me go please, what have I done to deserve all this."
I pleaded..........
They all laughed except one whom just stared at me pitifully.
They all left and it seems that they went to talk about me...
I just hope they free me now.
Oh God
Please save me.......
"What do we do with her guys" I heard one say.
"Let's sell her." another suggested
"No. We can't she might expose us."
"How will she when she hasn't even seen our face. She can't even describe us to anyone. Let's sell her"
"yeah" They all chorused.
"Do you still have Pd's number." one said.
"yh, call her n tell her let her come and pick her up."
"Yay......" all four celebrated except one.
"Hello, The girl is ready. Give us our money now." thier leader

said.
"okay." A middle aged woman said.
"Get up and follow me immediately" the oldy said and pulled me by the hair
"Ouuccchhhh" I whined and followed her with a long chain in my neck,hand,leg.
As I followed her I know that this is just the beginning of another phase of my life.
_______FEW MINUTES LATER_______
We arrived at a mine.
I was asked to start work immediately and I had to begin working there.
"I'm tired can't I rest" I cried.
"Shut up and get to it" Pd yelled and left.
'Grumpy' I muttered and began work.
After few hours of working non stop
My head feels heavy.
I've never worked this much in my life before.
I'm having a severe head pain.... Everything and everywhere is spinning..
Oh God I don't wanna die here.
My Monica how is she doing.
I left her all alone in that cave.
I just pray n hope she's safe.
I might not have seen thier faces but one thing is sure they had a red eye mark on thier chest.
My head is aching me and........

Water splashed all over my face. I bulged my eyes open and found different faces looking down on me.
"you lazy thing. wake up n start working......" pd said and left.
Weeks after weeks......
Days after days.....
I spent my new year in the forest.
I've been in this tunnel for sometime now and I have not seen the sun in a long time now.
I don't even know what day it is today.
I've made some friends here.
I wouldn't call them friends cos am only using them.
I'm gonna escape soon.......
While mining
I had dugged a passage I'll use to escape and it will soon be ready.
FEW DAYS LATER
"it's done Mária let's go."
We ran fast together till we got to the main gate.
We gave the gatekeeper a few dollars and bargain with him till he let us go.
"They are escaping. Catch them." I heard someone yell.
"Shut down every gate. Every building n door must be closed."
People started chasing after us.
They looked like maniacs.
"keep running Mária and don't look back."José kept saying.
Don't be surprised he's helping me....
I promised to give him my body if I get outta here alive....
They are all the same....
All men are just fools.
Disgusting creatures......
we kept running till we got to a dead end.
That's the last fence we just have to jump.
"here give me your hand and I'll help you climb." I placed my hands in his and he helped go across and just as I was about to pull him up.
He got shot in front of me......
Not again....
Not another life because of me ....
I'm free but it's all at the cost of José's life.
Freedom at last.
Now it's to look for my way outta here.......
_______TWO MONTHS LATER______
I had to prepare for the night's work.
Quite a life.....
From a Miner to a Stripper.
I arrived at the brothel which stinks if drugs as usual.
The lights were dimmed.
Madame Sugar showed me the way to a room were I would work for the night.
I got in there and met a middle aged man in his late forties I guess.
He was on a towel in front of a mirror.
''Whats a beautiful young lady like yourself doing here as a Stripper" he asked.
"Let's just get to business Sir" I said and started undressing.
"Don't" he said
"Excuse me...."
"I don't wanna do this with a young girl like you." he said with concern.
"Whatever" I spat.
"I like your courage dear. how old are you."
"I'm 20 Sir" I answered
"Quite young. I like it..... I want something else from you " he grinned showing his stupid and dirty set of brownish teeth.
I knew it.
They are all the same....
How can an old man his age want to have an affair with me....
I know that's what he wanna say.
This is all just so annoying......
How much I hate been treated like this...
I hate my type of life.......
"So what do you want then?" I asked irritably.
"Marry me and I'll make you my queen. my all in all." he said.
