Arleth felt a surge of anticipation and excitement as she walked towards her room, where Lucas, her lover and mate, was waiting for her.
As an omega, she was very content with what she had so far, and although she had been abandoned by her parents as an omega orphan, the Moon Goddess made up for her--gifting her with a mate who was a warrior of the pack! And he never minded her omega status.
She had decided to give him the most precious gift of all on her birthday: her virginity.
She wanted to share everything with him, to feel his body and soul merge with hers in a bond of eternal love. She had dreamed of this moment for so long, and she hoped it would be as special and unforgettable as he was.
But as she reached the door of her room, a strange noise stopped her in her tracks. It sounded like a moan, a gasp, a cry of pleasure. And it was coming from inside her room.
Her heart skipped a beat, then pounded wildly in her chest. Who was making that noise? And why was it coming from her room? Could it be...Lucas? With someone else?
Arleth felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead, and a wave of nausea wash over her. She couldn't believe it. She didn't want to believe it. But she had to know for sure. She reached for the doorknob, trembling with fear and anger. She opened the door slowly, quietly, hoping against hope that she was wrong. But what she saw inside shattered her world into pieces.
Before her was a painful sight that she should never have witnessed. Even Della, Arleth's inner wolf, growled in disgust as she caught her mate Lucas making love to her best friend.
They were having sex in Arleth's apartment—the place Arleth had bought for her and Lucas.
"What the fuck, Lucas? Don't you have no shame in fucking my best friend in our apartment?!" Arleth lashed out at Lucas with rightful anger.
They stared at Arleth without fear or guilt, as if they had never done anything wrong. Neither of them had worn any clothes at all.
After peppering Lucas with unanswered questions, Arleth turned to Amanda, the girl clinging to Lucas' arm. "And you, bitch! You're my best friend. I thought you'd care about our friendship, but look what you did!"
The two didn't look guilty at all; instead, soon Lucas grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist. He then pulled Arleth's hand away from Amanda.
"What are you doing here, Arleth? Why didn't you tell me before you went home? I can pick you up so you don't get in trouble—as you did now!" Lucas said guiltlessly, as if Arleth should tolerate him having sex with his bitch.
Arleth had deliberately put on her best clothes and planned to let Lucas mark her tonight. Now Arleth no longer cares whether her face is still as attractive as before or has become ugly because of the tears that have fallen on her face, and she has wiped them away repeatedly.
"I came here because I determined to mate with you, Luc," Arleth replied, trying to suppress her remaining sobs.
"You really gave me a fucking huge surprise, didn't you? Well, you two made me see your true colors sooner! You also made my decision a little easier."
"What decision?" Luc asked impatiently.
"First, I'm going to reject you. I, Arleth Quill, reject you, Lucas Walker, as my mate as of today and release you to leave!"
Arleth felt pain as she heard her bond break. She saw Luc's expression change, but Amanda held him up.
His face quickly turned into an easy grin. He truly loathed her. So what was his disguise for so long?
"Arleth, I'm glad you're clear about your position. Your rejection is a relief to me. So that's all? What about your second step?" Lucas said sarcastically.
Arleth surveyed the apartment. She was the one who paid for it and covered the monthly payments. She had handpicked all the furniture because she was looking forward to the day Lucas and she moved in. She fantasized about the many places they would make love and have three children.
But she hadn't even started living in this house yet. And on the first day she set it up, Lucas was fooling around with Amanda, the bitch.
Arleth felt a wave of nausea and she tried to hold herself together as she snarled at them, "Get out of my house before I call security!"
But Lucas and Amanda didn't have any fear on their faces. Instead, they laughed loudly. "Your house? I forgot to tell you, Lucas registered this house in his name long ago. You are the one who should get out!"
What? When did this happen? Without waiting for Arleth to react, Amanda pulled out the real estate license showing the name as Lucas Walker. She watched Arleth's reaction with amusement.
Arleth wasn't going to just sit there. She grabbed a baseball bat by the door and immediately rushed in, destroying all the furniture. Soon there were screams.
"Bitches, take these crumbs with you! Enjoy the rest of your time." Arleth spat towards them and left the disgusting place before security arrived.
"Arleth, when I recover, I'm never going to let these bitches go!" Arleth's wolf, Della, said angrily.
"Della, I'm not going to just let them take my house away from me!" Arleth swore to herself that she would never forget that humiliation. NEVER!

Arleth staggered while dragging her suitcase away from the place that had given her and Lucas many memories. Della continued to growl in anger at the bastard's treatment of Arleth.
"I know, Della. You don't have to tell me. What Lucas did was the cruelest thing we've ever known. I was too stupid and naïve to think about the good and bad of my decisions," Arleth said, trying to reconcile Della's and her rumbling feelings.
Della, who heard Arleth's words, snorted in annoyance. "Go back to that place, Arleth. Let me tear apart the bodies of the bastard who has claimed to be our mate but fucked a bitch. I don't fear him at all! He must be destroyed!" said Della, raging and almost out of control.
"No, Della. I don't want you to get hurt. After all, we're just omegas. Dealing with a warrior will only be a problem for us later on." And that was the truth. Arleth had intentionally always avoided trouble because of her status and powerlessness.
Suddenly, Arleth's boss contacted her and sounded worried. Arleth couldn't ignore the call from that woman, even though her feelings and mood were now down deeply. She accepted the call and listened to what the woman had to say to her.
"Arleth, where are you right now? Can you come here? There's quite a complicated matter, and I think you should know what's going on right now. Come here right away."
