THE BRIDE'S MAID

Fierce romance

　　Chapter 1

　　The blaring sound of the morning alarm penetrated into my sleep and forced me awake.

　　Damn it.

　　I cursed under my breath as I reach for the clock and turn off the alarm.

　　My face was still buried in the bed and making sure I'd shut it up, I drifted back to sleep.

　　My sleep was disrupted again by sound of my phone's ringing tone.

　　What the heck!

　　Can't I sleep peacefully!

　　I groaned out of my sleep and reached out for my phone on the bed's head stand.

　　I opened my bleary eyes and checked the caller ID and noticed it was Lia.

　　I wonder why she's calling me by this time of the morning.

　　I sat up tiredly on the bed and answered the phone call.

　　" Hey best " Lia yelled over the phone and I rolled my eyes.

　　" Good morning " I greeted rubbing my hands on my eyes.

　　" Keep your greetings to yourself Clara,,, don't tell me you're still on bed " Lia said.

　　" Why did you call lia ? " I asked.

　　" JESUS!!! For fvck sake Clara it's 7:30am,,, and the first bus going to Manila leaves by 8:00am " she said and then I remembered I have a job as a bride's maid in Manila in one week time and I have to leave today.

　　Shit!!!!

　　I cursed under my breath and ended the call.

　　I jumped off my bed , wore my slippers and ran Inside the bathroom.

　　I brushed my teeth , unclothed myself and entered into the bathtub.

　　I walked out of the bathroom with my towel tied around my chest..

　　I dried my body and walked up to my dressing table , sat on the chair and applied my lotion.

　　After then I stood up and walked up to my wardrobe brought out a simple gown ,, and put it on.

　　I loosened my hair which was in a ponytail and brushed it before packing in a ponytail again.

　　I took my red lipstick and applied on my lips.

　　" I'm good to go " I said in my head as I took one last glance at myself on the mirror.

　　I carried my bag which contains some of my clothes I'll be wearing during my stay before returning home..

　　I picked up my phone from the bed and checked the time,,, 7:50am. I have just then minutes to get to the bus station and thank goodness the bus station is not far from my home.

　　I walked out of my room with my bag in my hands...

　　" Aunt Clara Good morning " little Anna who is my neighbor's daughter yelled and I waved at her.

　　I was in a hurry so I couldn't go hug her as I usually do every morning.

　　I boarded a taxi to the bus station.

　　The taxi screeched to halt in front of the bus station.

　　I paid the taxi driver and hopped out of the car.

　　Immediately , I entered the bus station the bus was prepared to leave.7:58am.

　　I breath out in relief knowing fully well that I came in time..

　　I hopped into the bus and sat on the vacant sit.

　　Immediately , it was 8:00am,, the bus zoomed off.

　　Manila , here I come.

　　" Wow " I mouthed admiring Manila city,,, gosh!! It's so beautiful and I bet ninety eight percent of people living here are damn rich.

　　" How can I get to the bride's house - Mrs Harper " I said in my head.

　　Suddenly , I heard the sound of my phone's ringing tone.

　　I checked the caller ID and noticed it was Lia.

　　" Hey bestie I'm in Manila,,, thanks for waking me up earlier today " I said as I answered the call.

　　" it's nothing babe,,, so can you please tell me how Manila looks like,,, is it as beautiful as it looks on TV? " she as and I laughed.

　　" Ofcourse Lia ,, but I'm finding it hard to locate the bride's house " I said and she chuckled.

　　" Hey what's funny? " I asked.

　　" Looks like someone has forgotten that the bride's phone number is on her phone " she said and I rolled my eyes.

　　" Oh my goodness!!! I forgot Lia,, let me quickly call her ,, then I'll call you back " i said and ended the call.

　　I smiled as I saw the bride's number on my phone.

　　I quickly dialled the number , it rang twice and she answered the call.

　　" Hello who's this? " A beautiful voice said over the phone.

　　" Hi ma'am ,,, it's Clara Williams the bride's maid,,, I'm already in Manila ma'am " I said.

　　" Oh Clara,,, I'll send my driver to pick you up " she said and ended the call.

　　I sighed looking around for a place to sit before the driver comes and finally I found one.

　　After what seems like eternity , the driver finally arrived.

　　The car screeched to halt in front of a big mansion.

　　Oh boy!!!!!

　　This is wow..

　　I'm sure the bride is damn rich.

　　I hopped out if the car with my bag in my hands.

　　" This way ma'am " the driver said as he led me inside the mansion.

　　Wow!!!

　　This Isn't a mansion , this is a paradise in disguise.

　　I'm speechless.

　　" Welcome Clara Williams " a voice said from behind and I turned around only to see a beautiful lady sitting on a couch ,, with her phone in her hands.

　　" Hi ma'am Harper " I said and quickly bowed my head making her chuckled.

　　" Welcome " she smiled.

　　" Thanks " I smiled in return.

　　" Feel free here,, I'll be going out now and I will be back in May be three or four days time.. I have appointed someone who will brief you about everything before the wedding. And as for my fiancee he lives here,, but right now he's out of the county and will be back By tommorow " she said and stood up.

　　" Laura take her to the guest room " she said to a lady who I guess is a maid and has been standing beside her.

　　" Thanks ma'am " I said and she nodded before walking away.

　　" This way ma'am " Laura the maid said and I nodded.
