The door opened the wind blew in. Everywhere quite and calm. Gerek walked to the door like he knew who had done it. He held the door handle waiting for him to walk in.
He stood at the entrance with the evil smile on his face, it has been a long time they've meet each other. That was five years ago. It all started when they were still little. The enviness, hatred, anger and lust for power has been what he wanted. And after that year, their friendship was turned apart. No one saw the other.
But he wasn't back for the invitation, he was back for something else, something bad and dangerous.
He returned back the smile then took his gaze off him. He shifted aside for him to walk in.
"Why are you here?" Asked Gerek.
He smiled again and replied, "I heard you were getting married so, I came to wish you luck."
"I don't need your luck, Riga."
" Maybe for now. So, are you taking it or not?"
" It's just a word, I don't need it."
" Okay. Okay. Fine. Well, I didn't just come here just for the luck, I came to talk."
Gerek shook his head and said, " I don't want to talk to you and I don't want to look at your face. Not after our past. No."
" He chuckled, "It's been five years and you still don't wanna talk?"
"Riga..."
"Oh! please Gerek let's not act like kids here, okay? Look at you." He said pointing at him," So tall, handsome, everything in you is so extraordinary and sweet. You know, I always thought you've got no time for love but here you are in love."
" I'm not like you. You don't love because you don't have heart. Can't you see the difference?"
" What of your wife? Where is she?"he asked trying to change the conversation.
"Don't try to change the conversation. Why are you here?"
"I already told you, I just wanted to talk."
" You're lying. You're here for something else, but whatever it is, it will never happen." He said.
" Really?" He said, his voice sounding hard.
" Of course."
Riga moved more closer to him, " Do you think... do you think if i'd wanted you dead I'll watch you talk to me like this? No. I came to clear our past between us."
" It never worked before, do you think it'll work this time?"
" Once we're back together, we'll be free from our past hunting us. We both want to be friends again, why don't we accept it?"
" Will you be at my wedding?"asked Gerek.
" I will. I promise you that." He said tapping Gerek's shoulder," I will."
He walked up to his room, not too convinced on what Riga had said. Everything that had happened before came fresh to him. He sat on his bed just beside Lana. He couldn't stop staring at her calm face. She was already asleep. Those air that came out of the nostril of her nose gave beautiful sounds, sounds he loved.
He bent to her forehead kissing it softly. He pulled up the blanket to her chest.
He stood up from the bed, heading towards his wardrobe. He took out one of his black T-shirt and the little baggy pants. Sooner than an ordinary human could do, he was on his clothes. He made a few steps to the door when lana said in her calm voice.
"It's late. You should wait till morning."
" I've got to go. Morning won't do. I'll be back home on time, okay?"
She nodded. " Be careful."
He nodded back. " I will."
He's back...
He's here...
