Jades P.O.V

I wake up and it's bright out, it's about 7 in the morning. I get up, stretch a bit, then hop in the shower, brush teeth, then go down to breakfast, but not before picking out a cute outfit, a girl can't go out looking like a mess. Today I guess I'll wear black after all, black is slimming, and I can use all the sliming I can get. I'm not skinny like most women nowadays but, I'm not fat either, I'm a healthy size. My hips are wider and larger than mom's and sometimes, I feel out of place, she said I inherited them from my aunt. I go down to the kitchen and brew my morning tea.

"Morning", said my Mom. I sometimes feel like a giant coming down from the big castle, four steps, in the sky when she visits. She's about 5'4 which makes me 5'9, she's Petite. Brown hair with a hint of gray in it, but you can tell she dyed it. Soft on the eyes, but if you cross her she will gut you like a fish.

She stays with me during her visits here to California, which are not that often. She finally got leave from her job one month and came down to see me.

"Jade dear, I hope you been keeping yourself well down here, with all these boys and whatnot". She said.

"I'm fine Mom, I can handle myself. I'm almost 21 now, and I think it's time for me to go" I said as I grabbed my bag and left. Except, I left my keys and phone, I had my books, but not those key items. I went back in, only to be greeted at the door by Mother as she handed me my keys and phone.

I called my friend when I got in my car, a 2016 Dodge Charger, Black with red rims. I called up Amber to see what time her flight was getting in, so that I can get her after classes.

"Ring ring, ring, ring," she answers

"Hey Amber"

"Yea Jade"

"Woah, woah, woah what's wrong with you."

"I just had the rudest morning ever, and I don't see how it could get worse. I lost my wallet, then a man runs into me and keeps going. Next, my card got declined when I tried to get food. I just want to see a bed." She sounded like she was already tired, acting like the world should just be nice to her but, this is good ol' America. and I couldn't wait to see her. After being in a strange country for a little more than planned, it's about time to return to your roots.

School ended and it was time for me to pick up Amber from the airport. I'm so excited I haven't seen my bestie for almost a year now.

I arrive at the airport and there she is. I call out to her.

"AMBER!!!!!!!!!!!"

I see her walking towards me as she searches for me, her outfit is cute though. Amber has always liked the princess sleeve tops and some short shorts, which in my opinion shouldn't be worn in public but, it's her body.

As soon as she sees me, the tears start coming as she rushes to me with open arms. "I missed you, this day has been awful." We both embrace in a hug, as Amber takes out a tissue while whining some more then, we head to my car. On the way back she talked about her stay abroad and what country she was in and the food, the glorious food. She made me hungry, so I stopped at Mod Pizza on the way home. Then she asked me. Our conversation went like this.

"So what did I miss while I was away?"

"Oh nothing much, just I met someone." She turned in her seat and said. "who?"

"His name is Darius Brandon and we are just friends for now, but who knows it can grow into a beautiful relationship."

"Jade, I've known you since day 1 of our lives and you have never talked about any guy, except Jermaine Right in the 9th grade."

"First of all, we met in second grade, and second of all, if you remember he turned out to like Marissa," I said as we turned into the driveway of my house, as we turn, all you can hear is oooos and ahhhhs from Amber. After she left to go study abroad a lot has happened, including a new house and state.

I live in a one-story house with four little steps leading to the other side of the house, almost a little lift. You know those houses off the T.V. shows that look like those family homes, well mine is like that, but with a touch of modern

"Mom, you here, I'm back."

"Amber," said my Mom with excitement. "You're back, how was Taipei?"

I took Amber's bags upstairs while Mom asked her a ton of questions. I put her bags down on the guest bed and proceeded to go downstairs to join them.

Knock, knock, knock, the doorbell rang and Amber rushed to open it.

"Darius" Mom said. Well, come on in. He wiped his boots on the welcome mat and stepped inside. Mom closed the door behind him.

I get weak in the knees, I can hardly breathe when Darius comes around. You know that feeling when you get a feeling of nervousness and tension in your gut, well that's how I feel around him.

"So Darius," she said slyly while she circled around him. "What's your relationship with Jade." She asked

It was at that moment where I knew that he better say that we are just friends or else he never he the end of it from her. He answered after I nudge him.

"We're just friends that's all." She didn't seem satisfied with that answer though. But I didn't expect the next question though.

"Are you having sexual relations with Jade?" My Mom stood in shock, I nearly dropped my phone and my brother, who had just walked in, just stood there in silence.

"Welcome home", I said to my brother who was standing in the doorway. We missed you, turning to take Mom's hand and relieve her from her shock.

Amber's P.O.V.

I had just come back from Taipei and all of the setting this guy shows up, Darius Brandon, apparently Jade has been making guy friends why I was away studying. Jade has never been one to try and seek attention but some out the sky made her want to step out of her she'll, I have been trying to do that for years and it didn't work. I'm not going to let some guy come in take over and mess her up. As her friend, I need to protect her.

Jade is that type of person who can't say no to anybody, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. She is younger than me bout 2 years to be exact, with our birthday being only a day apart.

Jade has been that girl who always grabbed the boys' attention, but she never paid any mind to it, she was more into books and anime, video games, and whatnot. All the boys would rush up to her and she would just continue reading, but who could blame them she looked gorgeous. With that brownish, Auburn hair that you don't have to fool with for it to look good, she would just wake up in the morning and her hair would just flow with the wind. She is tall, but not that tall, grey with turquoise eyes that sparkled like diamonds. She the total package, sometimes I feel self-conscious because of her. She's very blessed with assets that I barely have. Her hips are wider than mine and she has very smooth and gorgeous skin. No wonder why Darius is attracted to her, but then again who isn't, she just is oblivious to the fact.

This guy comes in, I can already see Jade's face light up. I must admit, he's not bad looking, his face is defined with sharp lines, high cheekbones, and when he smiles he has those cute dimples. I look up to find his eyes and they just melt me inside, those baby blues can capture my heart any day. I question him cuz I want to find out what is his intentions with Jade. He looks nice and well kept, good hygiene but, would I ever go for him, no not my type at all and that's something Jade doesn't have to worry about.

"Amber, this is Darius, Darius this is Amber, my best friend!"

He holds out his hand and I shake it and say,

"HI"

Darius P.O.V.

I held out my hand for us to shake and something happened, a spark, a tiny firework, or something. I never felt this before, I look down at our hands, and then she looks at me. Meanwhile Jade is looking at us wondering why are we holding hands for so long.

We released our hands and............... Jade was behind me staring me down like a hawk, wanting its dinner.

Jade P.O.V.

I was beginning to wonder why they were holding like that for so long. I began eyeing Darius down, I like him. He is mine and nobody will get in my way, but I shouldn't be thinking like that, she's my best friend. Besides she doesn't want him anyway, she has a guy back in Taipei that she's madly over in love with him.

Amber P.O.V

I saw Jade becoming upset with me and her sweet soft eyes turned from kindness and happy to angry and rage.

She likes him, and she wanted me to know it.

"Amber let's get you unpacked." She said, but first, he had questions to answer.

"Do you have any sexual intentions with Jade?"
