"Sister, sister, are you awake? Lewis Harrison has sent over the wedding dress..."
The door makes a knocking sound, accompanied by the familiar soft voice of a young lady.
Josephine Summertown her eyes looking sharp!
With a sudden surge of energy, she gets up from her bed and stares at the door with frosty eyes.
That voice... it's Yolanda!
But, Yolanda Summertown died two years ago!
Why now...
"Sister, I'm coming in!" Before Josephine could make sense of what was happening, Yolanda had already pushed the door open.
In Yolanda's hands, she was holding a spotlessly white wedding dress.
"Sister, hurry up and put on the wedding dress. We need to get to the hotel. Lewis has called several times, but I saw you were asleep and didn't have the heart to wake you." Yolanda chuckles and approaches the bed.
Humph, this vile woman, receiving the favour of old man Lewis, even determined to marry this vile woman over.
Why?
She'll intentionally make this vile woman late for the engagement party.
And see if the Harrison family would still like this vile woman then!
Josephine stares at Yolanda, obviously youthful, looking about 16, dressed in a high school uniform, her heart is shocked beyond measure.
Yolanda, her nominal and unrelated by blood little sister, was two years younger than her.
After leaving the Summertown family when she was 18, she spent three solid years with Yale Freeman. Two years since Yale's death, a total of five years had passed!
Even if Yolanda were still alive, she should be 21 years old!
But the Yolanda in front of her…
"Sis? What's wrong with you?" Yolanda perceived a certain offness in Josephine and consequently waved her hand in front of her sister.
Josephine snapped back to reality.
She spotted a mobile phone on the side, quickly picking it up to check the calendar.
Unbelievable…it was five years ago!
The day of her engagement banquet with Lewis!
She had been reborn!
A wave of immense joy overwhelmed Josephine. She hastily pushed Yolanda aside in front of her and bolted outside.
On this engagement banquet day, Yale would bring people to rob her!
She would be able to see Yale again!
"Sis! Where are you going? You haven't changed into your wedding gown yet!" Yolanda yelled at Josephine's disappearing figure.
In fact, she couldn’t wish for a better scenario. She hoped that Josephine, as if her brain was flooded, wouldn’t change into her wedding gown and would make a fool of herself at the engagement party.
However, she still felt an obligation to advise her.
Yolanda's call did make Josephine stop in her tracks.
But when she turned her head around, her gaze was cold and chilling, to the extent that it almost froze Yolanda's blood.
How... how could her eyes be so terrifying?
"A wedding dress?" Josephine slowly curled up her lips as she looked at the wedding dress in Yolanda's hand, an almost bloodthirsty gleam in her eyes.
Ah, that diary written by Yale, she had pored over it again and again.
She knew every word by heart.
The powerful Yale 's ultimate demise in the previous lifetime all stemmed from his misunderstanding that Josephine was still in love with Lewis.
The first misunderstanding started with this very wedding dress.
Over the three years that she was married to Yale, he had cherished her like a precious gem. Yet, the thought of holding a wedding ceremony with her never crossed his mind... because she had already worn a wedding dress for Lewis!
Even if it was just for their engagement banquet, that image was an unshakeable nightmare in Yale's mind.
He was afraid of seeing her in a wedding dress.
Afraid that, she would leave him.
"Sis, what's wrong with you?" Yolanda took a step back.
She didn't know why but she was genuinely terrified of the Josephine in front of her.
"It's as though... she's about to devour someone."
Josephine slowly raised her head, her gaze coldly resting on Yolanda. As Yolanda felt a wave of chill creeping up her scalp, Josephine suddenly, curved her lips into a smirk.
"Yolanda, you don’t want me to marry into the Harrison family, right?”
Yolanda was taken aback, shaking her head frantically like a frightened bunny, “No, no, that’s not it, sister, how could I possibly..."
'Swish'!
Before Yolanda could finish, Josephine immediately stretched out her hand.
Ruthlessly, she tore the wedding gown worn by Yolanda into shreds!
