Chapter

It was a chilly night.

The sharp weather was a total enemy of the human body.

The wind howled and the trees would slightly bend to its furiously charge. Through the air, you'd smell a bit debris, the rain drizzled ceaselessly. The leaves on the trees broke, darting through the air.

The dead ones on the bare ground were... scurried off away by the frigid cold and breeze.

Moments later, you will probably hear the numerous echos of crickets.

Then came, a screeching sound, not of the dried up dead leaves.

You might as well, had thought it to be the bush animals running around.

But then it occurred again, the screeching sound.

It continued consistently and you, as a witness, would have definitely found out its should be a sound coming from walking on the leaves.

But what or who?

The trees can't answer.

But then it appeared, a mighty looking being.

Shadow glaring at the dried leaves and one could have actually thought they were scared from their movements.

It came, a grunt from the creature.

Projecting up to it's physique, one could tell it was a wolf.

But isn't this too mighty to be a wolf?

But...

One thing...

The wolf seems to have a deep cut on its abdomen, blood dripping down from it.

Feeding the dead leaves with blood as if with the intentions were to breathe life into them and restore their cycle.

And it happened, the sound of bone breaking stroke into the atmosphere and in a minute, looking back at the scene, one couldn't find a wolf again but a human laying on the dried leaves.

A pale face to begin with and deep scrutinizing will lead to one finalizing that it was a teen boy.

But how? A wolf was there a minute ago?

Guesses would be made but one thing to was to be brought up...

How and what was this boy..?

Another...

The boy couldn't move...

Even the trees didn't looked shocked. But were they supposed to?

It came again, the screeching sound, not from the... Wait, is it wolf or teen boy?

But the screeching was coming again, now from another 'wolf' precisely. It's what any spectator would have guessed.

Then it came out, turning out to be the expected result, 'another wolf'

This one was way mightier than the earlier.

But what happened next was confusing, and, you might say, shocking.

The new wolf raised its claws to attack the wounded teen but the latter suddenly rolled and stood immediately, escaping the sudden attack.

Hair grew on his face and fangs crept out of his mouth, accompanied with the claws that shot out of his fingers as he took a fighting stance.

He transformed into an half wolf. He's a werewolf!

One could say, The transformation was as a result of the 'sudden' attack.

The new mighty wolf also transformed, into a man, probably at the age of 30 or more, same half transformation as the latter.

Then the duo charged at each other.

The teen boy's wound was healing slowly.

No one could tell the reason for the slow healing.

The teen launched a claw punch but the man, probably more experienced than him, dodged in a swift speed and dug his claw into lap, gaining a yelp from his mouth.

The man swiftly grabbed his arm, pulling him closer by the shoulder, and flipping him away.

The teen boy crashed against a tree and the leaves on it shook as some dead ones fell off.

The man dashed at him, probably with the aim of grabbing him to the tree but his brain was fast to analyse the move.

He immediately rolled away, and the man punched the tree instead, aiding more dead leaves to fall.

He was angry, missing his target made him kinda mad.

The teen boy immediately used that opportunity, speedily making a u-turn of accurate 360° as he returned the attack, landing a kick on the man's spine which sent him smashing his forehead against the tree, the tree again.

The tree now, might probably be crying, for suffering all this hittings without an offence.

The man turned back with an angry and bloody face. Blood drips down his forehead but the wound there was already healed up.

He transformed into a fully wolf. The teen boy followed suit. He new he would be at the loosing side if he remained in his half-transformed state.

The two mighty wolves leapt at each other fiercely.

They crashed against each other and landed on opposite sides.

The teen boy was now badly injured and his wounds were slowly healing, sloowly.

The man had just a slash on his face which healed up immediately.

The teen boy was now helpless.

He lost the fight, that was sure.

He was now back in his human form.

His entire bones were probably broken, that he felt like dying already.

He could smell death just beneath his nostril.

He felt the world crashing down, his eyes were drowsy, threatening to close up but he kept them active.

His blue eyes narrowly caught the man marching towards him and all he could see was death, grinning at him and telling him "your time is up kid".

He knew his great fear had finally happened, or his about happening, but either way, this was the end for him.

"Why,,... Why are you doing this.. this to your fellow wolves? You're a disgrace to the werewolf kind" He cursed as the man finally reached him.

The man only let out an evil grin.

"You don't know what I'll gain from all this. After killing you, I'll be receiving new powers" The man grinning wistfully.

"You idiotic old fool! Siding with our enemies just because of power. Know this, you're only being used. You'll get killed after they're done using you fool!" The young teen spatted and the man landed a resounding claw slap on his face, slashing his face in the process.

He let out a painful cry as blood gushed out of his cheek.

"You know nothing" The man whispered in his ear and in a sec, the teen boys head was rolling few feets from him.

He had snapped off his head, he killed him.

"Greet father Lucifer" The man laughed as he stood.

He looked around and dashed off into the darkness.

The cold air then returned. The chilly air.

It was as if it went away during the presence of the two wolves.

The tree moves to the right and left, as if mourning the dead.

*************

"Enough!"

The baritone voice roared out from a specific place in the woods.

With the appearance, one could call the place a wolf camp. It was a like a village.

Village of the wolves.

Men and women could be seen carrying out one task or the other.

Some with blue eyes could be seen, training on a field.

At the far end of the village, a gigantic building could be sighted.

The voice obviously came from there.

In the building, was situated a... You could call it a throne room.

On the throne sat, an old man, old but fiesty.

He sat there in all glories, donned in his Royal robe. A crown made out of diamond sat graciously on his head.

At the front of the throne, lined, chairs, on opposite sides.

Sitting on the chairs were elders, dressed in their robes.

"But..."

"I said enough!" The king roared and the chief who was about to speak kept mute.

"Everyday, reports are coming in about missing wolves. They're all being killed by whatever threat might be out there and you all fold our hands, doing nothing!"

"My Lord we're trying our best. Rumors says it's a rogue wolf" One of the chiefs voiced out.

"I don't care whatever it might be. We must find out what it is and put an end to it as soon as possible"
