Inside the luxurious suite
Lin Feier was sitting on the floor, disheveled. There were noticeable scratch marks on her arm, her cheeks were red and swollen, and there were traces of blood at the corners of her mouth. She evidently appeared like someone who had nearly been violated.
Glancing at the old man next to her who had been knocked out by Xu Hai, a resolute look flashed in Feier's eyes.
She looked up at the peerlessly handsome man before her and spoke again.
"Mr. Mu, I beg you to help me."
Mu Yanlei didn't answer. A faint smile, which was quite rare, appeared on his handsome face as if he had heard something amusing.
"Do you so desperately want to take your revenge?"
"Yes!" Feier's voice choked up, but the determination in her tone was unmistakable.
Mu Yanlei looked at her indifferently. His eyes seemed to be scrutinizing, thinking.
After a long while, he suddenly pinched her chin and lifted her face. His voice was void of any emotional fluctuations as he asked, "Why should I help you? What will be my benefit if I help you?"
"I..." Feier was at a loss for words with these two questions, yet she was not dispirited.
"What do you want? So long as I have it, I will give it to you. Please just help me!"
Mu Yanlei didn't answer immediately. Instead, he squinted slightly, and a strange light flashed across his eyes.
He quietly looked at the woman in front of him, no, it should be said, the girl.
In those bright eyes a touch of tears misted, her manner disheveled, her clothes haphazard. She looked so pitiful, yet she exuded an ounce of stubbornness, a sight no one could bear to reject.
"Alright! I'll help you." These brief words muttered, he then released his grasp on her. "First, clean yourself up."
"Thank you," responded little Fei in a strained tone.
Getting up, she overheard Mu Yanlei talking to his assistant at the door, "Prepare the acquisition plan as soon as possible, and announce the acquisition of Hongjian tomorrow."
...
When she came out of the shower, the old man on the floor and Xu Hai were gone, and the door had been closed.
At the floor-to-ceiling window, Mu Yanlei stood up straight, his broad shoulders seemed reliable to rely upon.
Fei gathered her courage and walked over, clutching the towel on her chest. With every step, she found her heartbeat quickening.
"Mr. Mu, I've finished cleaning," she said.
It sounded as if she was offering herself as a tribute, void of any dignity.
But on a second thought, compared to what Cheng Shaofeng did to her, Fei felt that this was voluntary, and dignity was irrelevant.
Mu Yanlei turned around, his gaze swept over Fei lightly. His eyes flashed coldly at the sight of her exposed smooth skin.
Fei lowered her eyes subconsciously under his piercing gaze, feeling increasingly uneasy.
The towel was all she had to cover herself.
This was the first time she had exposed herself like this in front of a man, and an overwhelmingly handsome stranger at that.
He... he really was handsome, arguably the most handsome man she had ever seen.
His clearly defined, handsome face held an air of nobility, his brows sharp and dignified. His pitch-black eyes were deep as the ocean but harbored an underlying sharpness. Subtle and not overtly daunting, it made one unable to fathom what he was thinking.
Just below his lofty, aquiline nose were thin, comely lips. When silent, his mouth pursed slightly, exuding an aura of being cold and noble.
In every movement and action, he carried an elegance that mingled with an innate imposing aura. It was a silent demonstration of might that instilled fear and respect in others.
Such a man, with just one look, left a deep impression.
Fei'er was no exception, especially since he had just saved her.
Having not heard from Mu Yanlei for a while, Fei'er couldn't help but raise her eyes, quickly glancing at the man before her, feeling increasingly uneasy in her heart.
"Mr. Mu...."
But, Mu Yanlei remained silent, his gaze solemnly sweeping over Fei'er's body.
Fei'er's arms were still covered in the scars left from her struggle, and two distinct palm prints were clearly visible on her face, making him hurt just by looking.
For the first time in his life, he felt an emotion other than 'indifference' towards a woman other than his mother.
Mu Yanlei slightly furrowed his brows, slowly stepping closer to Fei'er, and gently caressed her face with his hand.
