She walked into the office, from one conference meeting to another she needed a break from all this but she dare not take one. Her phone rang and it was Carlos calling, just to think that this day couldn't get any worst.
We all know there is this fine line between being made and broken and these two statements could even be interchangeably used when talking about humans. Carlos broke Cathy or should we say Carlos made Cathy.
Five years ago Cathy had just started college she was nineteen, persistent, and goal-oriented. She had a rough childhood growing up with a single dad, she lost her mum at a very tender age of ten to a fire incident, a fire incident that still haunts her to date. The death of her mum broke her dad to pieces, He was no longer the shadow of the man he used to be.
He started drinking, keeping late at night, gambling, and other stuff. Got himself arrested most of the time, Cathy's mum was the glue that kept the family together her elder brother Jamie started following the footsteps of his father, and in the rough street and hood got himself killed. He was just 16 when he died, Cathy at 13 had faced so much lost and kept on moving from one foster home to another, with her father in prison, and even when he got out, social services deemed him incapable of taking care of her. So Cathy had to study and study so hard to get a scholarship to college because she knew the foster parents she was attached with had no plans of college for her.
So when she got into college at the age of 18 on a scholarship she knew it was a full-time miracle and she needed to study more to hit her goals, probably get a good Job Working for a prestigious company and after that find a good guy and get married. In this particular order so she needed to study very well. Her freshman year was smooth she spent most of the time in the dorm, lecture room, or library. She didn't attend any party, the only friend she had or the closest person she had to a friend was her roommate Jesse.
Jesse is a party high-class girl, the total opposite of Cathy but this unlikely pair clicked and became friends, Jesse respected the fact that Cathy wasn't into the whole party and getting high stuff and Cathy appreciate her for that. At the end of freshman year, she had a 4.0 GPA and as business was her major she would be getting a very good job if she continued at this pace.
So sophomore year she continued with the same energy she started with. Till on a very not so good bad day, Carlos had just transferred into the business major from the administration, and well he was a hottie. Cathy had heard about him from Jesse before now but paid no attention, he was a guy all the girls in school were trying to get his attention. He is the son of one of the wealthiest businessmen in the country so he was very loaded and had a very unique way of flaunting his wealth and Making others feel inferior to him.
When he transferred to the business major and on the first day he sat close to Cathy and was trying to pick up a discussion with her but she did all she could to avoid any form of conversation with him. So he continued trying to talk to her but her response was not good and to Carlos that was the first time something like this was ever happen to him, Cathy is a very beautiful girl, young with dark wavy hair and brown eyes, she is 5ft 5in which makes her average height for a lady, with very light brown eyes, she had a very curve shape for her age which made her more attractive a round butt with an hourglass figure she was the complete package.
Normally she doesn't even care about her body, Jesse always told her that if she had a body like hers she would wear the most skimpy and revealing clothes to show her God-given Beauty. Cathy didn't wear any skimpy dress almost all her dress was knee level and she loves wearing kimono.
So, the first time Carlos talked to her after making a whole lot of research about her, she had even become his recent obsession, he found out where she lived the job she took and a lot of other things about her, he was fascinated because a poor girl like her with nothing could treat him like trash so he was more than determined to get her. On a rainy day, Cathy was thinking about how she could go catch the bus in such weather with a serious test awaiting her in school. her sophomore year dorm was a bit far from the bus station and she couldn't afford to call a cab she was stuck she came out and started running when a car stopped for her she didn't even not. so he horned and she stops he came out and it was Carlos. Looking so handsome with his leather jacket and he held an umbrella he came to where she stood and put the umbrella under her she knew she couldn't fight or resist this help she was freezing and very much wet, he opened the car for her and she got in and he began to drive her she noticed he took a different turn and became alarmed.
" Where the hell are you taking me to"
He smiled in the most charming handsome way ever. He didn't answer her and kept on driving. Then he stopped at a boutique and opened the door for her. Then said
"Would you like to go to school looking dirty and wet like this, come have a change of clothes? it's on me."
This was an offer she couldn't resist.
They entered the boutique and she first picked a top that seems rather simple but when she saw the price tag attached to it she dropped it, Carlos noticed it, smiled, and picked it up again she got dressed in black jeans, blue sneakers with a beautiful crop top. It was only when she wore the top she realized it was cropped, she tried pulling it down but it was still revealing and she had already removed the tag. There was no way she could return it, Carlos paid for it and they went. when they arrive at school and as they walked through the school hallway together all eyes were on them. She wasn't sure if it was because of her exposed belly button or the fact she was walking with Carlos.
After the test, she tried as much as possible to finish early so she could avoid Carlos but as soon as she finished and submitted he submitted too and caught up with her.
" Where are you going?" He asked
" Well I am supposed to go back home I have a few things to do" she replied
He smiled and held her hands she froze
" Let's go somewhere"
"Where?" She asked
He then replied with the most handsome smile she had ever seen
" You will see"
Those three words
Those three words he meant it
Those three words were the beginning of her ruin.
