My life as I knew it had always been pretty ordinary. I was a normal average girl coming from a humble family, with an average income and surrounded by average people. Even my dreams and aspirations had been average : get a nice paying job, shift into my own home and get married to the love of my life and have two kids.

Mostly it was just me my father and my brother. I had lost my mother when I was very young but even though it was sometimes difficult not having a female in the house to guide you, I would say the male members of my family had fulfilled this emptiness in the the best possible manner.

But as we all know life is not that simple.

And therefore there came a time in my life where everything that I believed to be true, was taken away from me and I was pushed into a whole new world of which I had no idea about. A world which was in no way average but at the same time extra-ordinarily mine.

Kingdom of Gardenia

The restless queen paced in her private chambers, her beautiful golden robes flowing behind her, gently kissing the deep oak wood floors as the sound of the heels echoed in the empty room. Her hair a beautiful dark brown were streaked with strands of silver, earned gradually over the years had been adorned with a crown. The piece of jewellery had almost become an extension of her, however this was few of those moments wherein she felt the crushing weight of wearing it above her head as her late husband's words echoed in her head - The one who wears the crown must bear its weight. And she had born its weight most graciously, never letting anything or anyone make her waiver but for the first time in her life she found herself re-evaluating every decision she had ever made in her life which might have led to this very moment.

For years she had waited for this day but now that it had finally arrived she found herself in the midst of a dilemma whether to be happy or to be sorrowful.

16 years ago the kingdom of Gardenia had lost its crown princess and the heir to the throne. Kidnapped by one one of their most trusted servants, taken from her own two hands rendering her helpless and alone. And for years the search for the princess had been carried out without avail. It was as if she had vanished from the very surface of the planet and now when everyone was ready to move on and finally let go of the past, let go of her, the news of her being found had just arrived.

Of course the queen was happy after all before a queen, she was also a grandmother, but what of her duties towards the other granddaughter ? The very granddaughter who was about to get engaged to the prince she had always dreamed about and pined over for years. The Prince who had been betrothed to the true heir to the throne, the heir which had just been found. She had often been called out a biased mother when it came to her deceased son, the Crown Prince and her daughter the Duchess but now, that bias would not only be emphasized even more but also give her the tag of a biased grand mother.

Choosing the happiness of one over the other could destroy everything she had spent so much time and effort to create but alas she knew what had to be done. This was a matter which not only concerned the lives of those which had been a part of the royal family but also the countless other people who were the citizens of their country and hence affected by each and every decision of its sovereign. For now there was only one option for the betterment of her country, her people and her family and the rest could be figured out later.

"Find her and bring her back, back to her family, to her people, to her Kingdom and to her throne."

The words rang in the air with finality as the message was carried out across. The Queen knew that the consequences of this decision would be enormous but at the same time she was prepared to face them all, one at a time.

She turned to her secretary who had been quietly standing in a corner all this time. "Make the announcement, the Crown Princess has been found and will be returning to the palace soon. The engagement between the Prince of Dominion and Duke's daughter is hereby called off and make sure no unruly rumors are to entertained about any member of the royal family."

The secretary nodded quickly making her way out of the room to execute her orders, leaving the Queen alone to bear the weight of her decision and the worried of impending future.
