Introduction
[Double C Sweet Romance: The Salted Fish Beauty vs. The Clingy Daddy-Issues Film Emperor] Before losing her memory, Sophia Miller and Ethan Wright were known throughout the industry as a contractual couple—everyone was just waiting for their divorce. After losing her memory, her seemingly gentle and doting husband turned out to be a yandere who played the role of a perfect gentleman, completely bewitching her. This marriage was totally worth it! She just had to flaunt their love on a reality show to shut the haters up. Who’d ever seen contractual couples this lovey-dovey? And so… On the couples’ variety show, Film Emperor Ethan clung to his wife like a koala—eating, sleeping, refusing to let go. If he didn’t, he’d spiral into madness. He carried her everywhere to keep her favorite white sneakers clean. He stole kisses when she wasn’t looking, nuzzled into her scent, and got scolded by her for it… The list went on. Haters were losing their minds! [OMG! Since when is our Film Emperor a simp?!] [Who spread those divorce rumors? Ethan Wright would literally die without Sophia Miller!] Sophia Miller: *Help, how do I make my husband less clingy? Asking for a friend. Urgent!* Later, when the show wrapped up, Sophia casually mentioned wanting a baby. Ethan lost it—tearing up their divorce agreement right in front of her. “Sweetheart, we’re not getting divorced. Back then, I thought you didn’t love me… so when you asked for a divorce, I agreed.” “Wait, WHAT?!” Sophia blinked. “Wasn’t it YOU who filed for divorce while I begged you not to?” Divorce. This marriage was OVER. Ethan’s eyes burned crimson as he locked her in a bruising grip. “You lit this fire—don’t you dare walk away now.”

A private hospital.

Sophia Miller leaned back against the hospital bed, holding a pink cartoon pig-shaped mirror as she studied her reflection.

Her skin was flawless, smooth like porcelain, her eyes bright and lively. Though there was a hint of sickness on her face, it only added to her fragile, delicate beauty. Even she couldn’t help but feel like comforting the ill but stunning girl in the mirror.

Her looks were incredible — one shy glance, and she oozed charm; one subtle frown, and she'd evoke pity. With a face like hers, she was practically born to be in the entertainment industry.

“Sophia, did you remember what I told you?” Camila Miller asked.

Sophia nodded obediently. “I’ve been married to the national superstar Ethan Wright for three years now. But now he wants a divorce. I love him a lot and, before my memory loss, I apparently fought hard to stop the divorce.”

It was kind of crazy for her, a virtual nobody, to end up marrying someone like Ethan Wright, who was at the absolute top of the entertainment world.

She must’ve been pretty impressive before the accident. Otherwise, how on earth had she managed to land someone like Ethan Wright?

The image of his universally adored face popped into her head—those godly features and that incredibly attractive figure. Sure, he got married young, but honestly? Totally worth it.

Camila looked at her steadily. “So, do you still want to divorce him now?” Sophia: "Of course not! Before I lost my memory, I did everything I could to stop the divorce. He was almost ready to back off. If I agree to it now, wouldn't that be totally pointless?"

Mrs. Miller beamed, clearly delighted. "That's the right way to think. Your dad and I are heading to Santorini for a little vacation. Remember what I told you—just focus on being happy with Ethan."

Sophia stared at her mother's cheerful retreating figure, utterly baffled.

I got into a car accident, lost part of my memory—no big deal, right? You’re seriously okay with leaving me like this?

"Did you see? Lillian and Noah are trending! They're so sweet!"

"Couple goals, am I right? Love them forever!"

"Noah even learned how to cook for her! Ugh, Lillian is so lucky!"

The door wasn’t fully closed, and the chatter from outside drifted right into Sophia’s ears. She set down her hand mirror, opened her phone, and pulled up Twitter.

#CoupleGoals was soaring!

#LillianAndNoahBreakfast was blowing up too!

[They’re seriously the cutest, OMG. I hereby crown them as the sweetest couple in the industry!]

[They totally remind me of another famous pair… But for every sweet moment Lillian and Noah share, that couple was just heartbreak after heartbreak.]

[Wait, who even are those two?]“Alright, let me hype up the ‘Celestial Deer Couple’—Sophia Miller and Ethan Wright. Sophia is literally the queen of beauty, but somehow not popular. And Ethan? Even though he rarely posts photos, every single one that goes viral has him looking so warm and sweet. Absolutely adorable!”

“Ethan, sweet? Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t even say that with my eyes closed.”

“Who in their right mind would ship the Celestial Deer Couple? Even dogs wouldn’t bother. They’re just a contract couple, bound for divorce sooner or later.”

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh at these comments. Her husband was Ethan Wright, for crying out loud! That smile of his? Deadly. His body? Absolutely top-notch.

Divorce? Yeah, not happening. She wasn’t about to hand him over to those so-called ‘little fairies.’

As for all the hype around Noah Loftus and Lillian Brooks, Sophia just felt like rolling her eyes.

After breaking up with Noah, he somehow shot to stardom, becoming one of the entertainment industry’s biggest stars. When he married the youthful and pretty Lillian Brooks, well, everyone seemed thrilled for them. Though, to be honest, Lillian wasn’t younger than her, nor prettier.

The announcement of their marriage brought waves of blessings, and their couple fanbase grew like crazy.

But here’s the kicker: nobody knew Noah had cheated, and that Lillian was the other woman. Sweet, my foot. They were both trash, plain and simple.

Nowadays, Sophia felt absolutely nothing for Noah. To be honest, she couldn’t even recall why she ever dated him in the first place.

Sigh.

Every girl’s probably dealt with a jerk at some point. It’s just a trial all goddesses have to overcome, right?

The black Bentley pulled into the hospital’s parking garage. The driver said, "Mr. Wright, we've arrived."

Ethan Wright didn’t respond, his eyes just briefly scanning the trending topics on Weibo. He wasn’t a fan of entertainment news, but Sophia liked it. And when she saw Noah Loftus and Lillian Brooks flaunting their relationship online, she’d always lose her temper.

“Mr. Wright, should I go upstairs and bring Mrs. Wright down?”

“No need, you can step out of the car first.”

Ethan dialed his mother-in-law’s number.

“Thank you, Mrs. Miller, for helping me talk to Sophia.”

“We’re family, Ethan, no need for thanks. You’ve been married to her for three years, and yet she’s still hung up on Noah Loftus—what’s that all about? The car accident this time, it’s got something to do with him, doesn’t it? Don’t try to hide it from me; I already know. She’s being unreasonable, but you—please be patient with her.”

Mrs. Miller couldn’t help but feel conflicted. She loved her daughter dearly but struggled to understand Sophia’s behavior.

Ethan was from an excellent family, famous, good-looking, polite, and even took care of all the house chores like cooking and cleaning. He was practically the poster child for the perfect husband. Yet here Sophia was, still crying about divorce.

To be sure she wasn’t misled by appearances, Mrs. Miller had once stayed at their place to observe. What she discovered, however, was that Ethan didn’t have much of a foothold at home at all.Sophia would pout and start crying whenever she was upset with Ethan. He’d patiently hold her, soothing her until she calmed down. But once she felt better, she’d throw a tantrum, complaining that his cooking tasted bad or wasn’t fresh enough, then demand that he go buy fresh ingredients again.

Sophia’s mom, Camila, who thought her son-in-law’s cooking was amazing, couldn’t help but think, “Even royalty wouldn’t pull this much attitude, right?”

But whatever, everyone has their own tastes.

Sophia preferred staying at home, though she’d occasionally put on a pair of fancy little shoes to wander around the garden. The ribbons on the shoes, though, made them hard to wear. When she couldn’t tie them properly, she’d cry and get frustrated. Ethan would stop whatever he was doing, gently wipe her tears, kneel down, and help her put on the shoes. He’d even ask if she wanted him to carry her there, since the garden was pretty big, and walking around in heels might tire her out.

Sophia would just ignore him, stomping around the garden until she got tired. Then she’d call him to come pick her up.

Yes, even in her own garden, she’d make her husband come fetch her.

Ethan, being the doting husband he was, never denied any of her whimsical requests.

For instance, when Ethan was on a call discussing business, Sophia would suddenly leap onto his back to startle him. He wouldn’t get angry—he’d just support her by holding her securely, making sure she didn’t fall. After the call ended, he’d hold her close, smothering her with reassurances and kisses, completely indulging her.

There were countless moments like this. Sophia’s mom used to think her daughter was just spoiled, but now? She realized Sophia was downright dramatic.

Even her own mom couldn’t stand it, yet Ethan could put up with all her antics. He’d even massage her ankle and tell her to walk less since her delicate skin could blister easily, and that’d hurt a lot.

Seriously, what more could she ask for with a life this sweet?

What was she thinking? Going to heaven, maybe?

If she left Ethan, who else would treat her like this, indulging her at every turn?

Noah?

Yeah, right. Noah was cold and selfish, miles apart from someone like Ethan, who seemed born to care and love deeply.

People, huh? When they’re soaked in sweetness, they forget what bitterness tastes like.

Ethan’s voice carried a calm warmth as he said, “Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Sophia.”

Sophia’s mom replied, “Of course I trust you.”

After a brief conversation, the call ended.

Ethan let out a quiet sigh, his elegant tone revealing a faint smirk. His eyes lowered slightly, revealing a fleeting trace of cunning, something unsettling beneath his seemingly gentle gaze.

He wasn’t clueless; he knew exactly why Sophia wanted to divorce him. It wasn’t Noah—no, it was simpler than that. Sophia was afraid of him.

“Heh,” Ethan muttered. “What’s the point of running? Look at you now, all messed up.

“You even hurt your leg. Now tell me, how are you going to run?”

Knock, knock—

Sophia had just finished putting on her dress when she heard the knock. “Come in,” she called. She was lowering her head, tying a bow for herself, but when she looked up, she froze.

The man standing at the doorway was strikingly handsome. Broad shoulders, a slim waist, and long legs. He looked effortlessly clean and refined in a simple white shirt and black slacks, like amber washed in a spring—warm, elegant, and understated, with a faint glow that seemed to settle around him.

"Wow... he's so good-looking..."

"?"

Ethan Wright hadn't even had time to process her words before a pink blur launched itself toward him. Folding his arms across his chest, he blocked her attempt to get close.

"Honey~"

Sophia Miller chirped sweetly, calling out to him. Noticing his defensive posture, she grew even more convinced of what her mother had told her—Ethan wanted a divorce, but she didn’t.
