Introduction
On their wedding day, he furiously pounded on the door frame, exclaiming, "Yan Ke! Just how stupid are you? How could you run away from the wedding when we've already obtained the marriage certificate!" He loved and adored her. But when her true identity was exposed, he found out that the woman he wished to spoil was long dead. He had unknowingly given his heart to a counterfeit. A brusque "What are you worth?" from him drove her far away. Fortunately, she had managed to save some money in this life, so she wouldn't end up like her past self: falling ill, not affording medical treatment, and inevitably waiting for death at home. Three years later, he found her. Mirroring his move from three years back, she pointed at his head and taunted, "What are you worth? Why do you always hang around me?" He pressed down her mocking hand and held it, retorting, "I am the father of your son! Stop talking nonsense! Come home with me!" To this, Yan Ke responded with a bewildered expression, "Who are you? Did the walls of the mental hospital fall down, and you've just been discharged only to get hit on the head again?"

Yan Ke lay in bed, sending a text message to Lou Lan in a state of near death. The message had only five words: "Come to collect my corpse."

An envelope was placed on the bedside table. She had prepared it in advance, containing a letter and three thousand yuan.

In the letter, she told Lou Lan to scatter her ashes in the ocean. It wasn't because she had any particular sentiments. She simply could not afford a burial site.

And that three thousand yuan was earmarked for her cremation process. In the medieval pain, she hadn't used that three thousand yuan to buy some painkillers.

She always hated owing others in her life. Hence, even if Lou Lan was rich, she did everything she could to take care of her own matters. It was just so tiring to worry about what’s to happen after one’s death.

After nightfall, Yan Ke closed her eyes as usual to sleep, but she knew that once they close this time, they will never open again…

Death was just as Yan Ke imagined, her eyes only filled with endless darkness. She waited in the darkness for a long time until suddenly, a surge of severe pain pulled back her consciousness.

She wondered, can you still feel pain after death?

She opened her eyes with doubts, wondering why she was not dead yet. What she saw made her widen her eyes.

This was not her basement, and the bed was not her damp bed. Could it be that she was not dead and had been taken to the hospital by Lou Lan?

No, this was not her basement nor hospital, but her so-called "home". The person cutting her wrist with a knife was her so-called "mother"!

Upon seeing her own blood gushing out from her skin, Yan Ke screamed, jumped off the bed, fled the control of her mother Zhang Mei Lan.

She knew Zhang Mei Lan wanted to inflict the same kind of wounds on her as her twin sister. She used to be weak and defenseless and let it be. But now, she could not let it happen!

She fled from the bedroom to the living room downstairs, opened the door to run out, but when she saw Jin Chen outside, she was so scared that her internal organs trembled, and reflexively closed the door again. Because she believed that if Jin Chen saw the wound on her hand, he could mentally torment her to death!

Outside, Jin Chen stood at the door, staring blankly for two seconds at the door that had just been shut right in front of him, with a meal cooked by himself in his other hand.

With his towering figure, sharp suit, and shades, he could easily be mistaken for a mob boss straight out of a stylized gangster film. The pink thermos flask he held contrasted sharply against his appearance, but then again, who could blame him? Yen Ke was particularly fond of it.

Fortunately, his confidence was through the roof. When people did double takes upon seeing the pink thermos flask in his hand, he took these stares as an acknowledgment of his imposing demeanor, compelling them to have a second look.

The sight of blood stains on the doorframe sent a chill down his spine, his mouth set in an icy straight line. Clearly bothered, he rapped his hand against the door, again and again, each knock echoing like a death knell that sent terror surging into Yen Ke's heart, making her wish she could bury herself deep in the ground.

To spare herself a confrontation, she gathered the courage to open the door. Upon entering, Jin Chen's gaze swiftly shifted from Yen Ke's panic-stricken face to her wrist that was resting on the door with blood flowing. His pupils contracted the instant he saw the fresh red blood.

He quickly undone his tie with one hand and used it to bind Yen Ke's bleeding wrist. Meanwhile, his other hand was dialing their family doctor while expertly pulling out a medical kit to administer first aid to her wound. After wrapping a bandage around it, he finally had time to scold Yen Ke, "What the hell were you thinking?!"

Upon seeing Jin Chen, Yen Ke reflexively muttered, 'So, it's my fault when I got cut by the knife?'

Not really a talker, her thoughts were nearly always written all over her face. Jin Chen had no clue about the source of her disgust and grievance, but her expression softened his attitude. He then focused his attention on her bound wrist, anticipating the arrival of the family doctor.

He had no need to ask what transpired between Yen Ke and Zhang Mei Lan, his suspicion concluded that Yen Ke had self-inflicted the injuries on her wrist. This was mainly due to her deceased twin sister's history of self-harm, which led him to erroneously assume that Yen Ke shared the same inclination.

Although the Jin family's doctor was renowned for his efficiency, the silence significantly seemed to stretch time. Yen Ke found herself staring out the window in an attempting to kill time during this odd silence.

She was a little slow to react, staring out of the window for quite a while before she realized that something seemed off.

Under the suspicion of this quirk, she looked at Jin Chen. Upon seeing Jin Chen's face that was not quite so solemn, she got a vague sense of what was amiss.

She thought Jin Chen appeared a little younger. Prompted by her confusion, she turned to look at Zhang Meilan, only to find that Zhang Meilan also seemed a bit younger.

Finally, she glanced down at her own wrist, and with a snap of the fingers, she instantly understood what was wrong.

She clearly remembered it was three years ago when her mother cut her wrist to make her impersonate Miss Yan's family better. So why has her mother nicked her again?

Wait! That's not the point. The key is, how come it seems like I've gone back three years?
