Introduction
"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? I haven't the slightest clue why I feel this way. Others will gladly want to exchange places with me, but if they only knew". "What's up, Rockhead!" her annoying voice jingled, piercing the silence. "Oh, come on, wait up!" I honestly didn't have the time to deal with her foolish shenanigans, so I hurried to the other side of the road. I swear Ben really owes me for this one. Sigh.

It was dark out, and a group of intimidating men came striding into the bar. The blaring music was a complete turn-off to Jackson, he wanted nothing more than to just leave. He looked around at all the slutty women and his face turned in disgust. “Dude, she’s hot!” Lucas shouted, swinging an arm over his shoulders. Jackson looked to the girl his friend was referring to and couldn’t disagree more.

“Boys!” the co-owner of the bar called out, waving them over to their regular seating. Her name was Lilac, most of the boys got along with her, but not Jackson. He found her annoying. “Hey Jackson,” she said flirtatiously, flapping her fake lashes seductively as they approached. It’s not that he wasn’t aware of her interest in him, but everything about her screamed fake. Literally everything. You could have told from a distance that she did a nose job, had breast implants, and got a butt lift. Honestly, she was a replica of a clown.

Jackson sipped his beer while the boys google-eyed every skimpily dressed girl that passed by. No one caught his eyes, and he was beginning to get bored of just sitting. So, he left. On his way out he met with Lilac. “Going so soon?” she asked. “Why not take a drink with me?”

“Hmmm…...tempting,” he lied. “But I think I’m completely burned out tonight.”

“But-”

“Have a nice night Lilac,” he said, cutting her off and going on his way. A rowdy group of men just there and then entered the bar, making quite the entrance with their boisterous voices. It appeared as though they already had their fair share of drinks before arriving. Their movement was tipsy, their speech was slurred, and the stench of alcohol lingered wherever they walked. “Great timing,” Jackson muttered under his breath.

One of the men groped the butt of a passing blonde and she screamed in fright. “Man, that felt good!” he laughed, his beer belly jingling.

“Boys, you look worn out, why not go home and forget the seconds?” Jackson suggested, stepping forward.

“Is he talking to me?”

“Why yes, Mr. Beer belly,” Jackson laughed, “Who else would I be referring to?”

The drunkard launched at him and missed. An outburst of laughter left Jackson’s lips and the man became even more infuriated by his presence. A second punch was launched, this time making its landing on Jackson’s mouth. 'Not bad' he thought, surprisingly, as he wiped the dark red liquid that graced his lips.

“Y-” Jackson made a blow straight to the man’s nose, cutting his words short.

“What? I don’t like the taste of blood, so I figured you would,” Jackson smirked as the man stared at him, his eyes ablaze with fire. By this time, the rest of Jackson’s gang found their way through the thick crowd and were now gathered behind him.

“Boss,” the dirty blond of the group stuttered. “I think we should go. Look at the men he has!”

“Mr.Beer belly wasn’t as dumb as we thought. He knows when he’s outnumbered,” Lucas commented when the rowdy group of men left. The boys laughed in agreement.

“Who’s up for a round of shots!” Lilac shouted, and the boys excluding Jackson readily agreed.

“Always the bummer,” Lucas said, “But suit yourself, we’ll meet you back at the hideout.” Jackson nodded and left. It will be a cold day in hell before he ever steps foot in that place again.
