The night sky, as dark as ink, unleashed a torrential rain that washed over the city alive with undercurrents.
Under the dimly lit street lamps, a luxury car zoomed past, splashing the muddy water from roadside puddles.
In the back seat, a man clutched his fist tightly, seemingly enduring something.
In the darkness, his face was indiscernible, but the faint “grating” sound emanating from his teeth suggested that he was nearing his limit.

No sooner had his words faded, the car jostled slightly again, splashing mud onto a girl roadside, her umbrella blown away by the wind.

"Running out of time," he murmured, his voice as chilling as the falling temperature, while his blood-red lips barely opened.
Ning Zixi, who was about to graduate, was still grappling with her thesis in the school. She wouldn't have rushed home in the pitch-dark downpour unless necessary.
Now, to add to her irritation, her umbrella was blown away, and she was splattered with sludge from a speeding car on the road.
"Hey!" Ning Zixi yelled out angrily, without expecting any apology from the vehicle's driver.
Unexpectedly, however, the car halted and was soon backing towards her.
Before she could utter a word, the rear car door was forced open, and a slender arm extended from inside. It grabbed her wrist, pulling her forcefully into the car.
Only when she collided with a slightly hot body did Ning Zixi react. Terrified, she pushed the person away and blurted out, "Who are you? What do you want?!”
The man didn't respond to her question, instead, he pulled her close, lowered his head, and sank his teeth into her neck.
"Ah! It hurts! Help!"
Feeling her skin being pierced and her blood being swallowed by the man, Ning Zixi struggled even more in terror. However, the man didn't release her in the slightest.
The luxury car continued to speed, finally stopping in the parking lot of a building.
