" What a beautiful house this is" coming from the rural areas, Amaranth had never seen something as beautiful as this. Glass walls, beautiful garden, a huge pool, only thing she saw in her area was the river her and her friends would swim in right after fetching water and only when she knew her mother didn't really need it. Turning around admiring the beautiful scenery a fair lady dressed in a black dress that was hanging just below her knees came up to her greeting her with the most unpleasant greeting she had ever received, with pointed eyes she stared at her from top to bottom not even trying to hide the glare, wondering if she had done anything wrong she just stood there, even though wanting to say something she stood there saying nothing.
Mrs Rosie Erica Evans, the lady of the house. " How do you do?" Mrs Evans asked. Amaranth answered in the most frightened way " I'm well ma'am" silence covering the whole place, Amaranth trying to clear the air said "what a beautiful place you have here, thank you for considering me and letting me come work for you, I really don't take it for granted" looking straight into her eyes" seeing as you really needed, I just thought I'd be nice and hand you this job though I expected you to look better than this but anyway let me get you someone to show you around the house and introduce you to everyone. Please walk fast, I really don't have all day, as you can see I'm a very busy lady and time is very precious to me".
Walking into the kitchen I was introduced to Ellen an old lady probably in her late 50s, with the most beautiful smile I've seen she welcomed me and took my hand directing me through the stairs explaining things to me " the children are at school and they must be back by noon, Mr and Mrs Evans have four in total, young master Justin Jr who's currently running the family company and will only be back by evening but you'll probably not be meeting him anytime soon" out of curiosity " may I ask why?" "Well let's just say he likes his space"
Moving on she continued "Jamie is the second, studying in England, quite a smart young man, Julie the third, beautiful lady with a great sense of humor and kind heart, you will love her, she's about your age just shorter and then the last two the twins Jadmiel and Jasmine and when it comes to those two, you'll be fine".
Taking her through my chores Amaranth felt so worn out and wondered if this was really worth it, having to watch over the kids was going to be tiresome, just as she was thinking of giving up, she remembered her poor mother in the village and all that she'd had to go through raising her and her siblings. Being the first of eight and not much that she can do she only hoped that the money she makes working for the Evans would be enough for her family.
Not knowing how to use the wall clock she asked Ms Ellen what the time was, It was already noon and it being a Friday the children get home at noon, thinking to herself she said they'll be here soon, making sure lunch is ready and checking if she had done that which was assigned to her, she went through the rooms one more time checking if everything was in order and the room was clean.
In no time the children were home and she did her best making sure they were comfortable and just like Ms Ellen said Julie really was like she had been described with a great sense of humor. After the children had finished eating she cleared their mess, she gave them one hour to rest so they can go to their rooms to study.
Night time came by so fast, serving dinner Amaranth was asked to go and leave a tray of food by Justin's door clearly being instructed to just knock and walk away, wondering what time he had come home, she carries the tray and did as she was instructed.
Walking back downstairs she wanted to open the door she was instructed not to open, what a curious young lady she was but she decided against it, not wanting to piss anybody off atleast not on her first day. Ms Ellen had said that the room had belonged to the young master but he decided to move into another one when he grew older and now he only used it as his personal space and no one was allowed to go in there, the last time anyone other than him had entered the room he got so annoyed that he almost beat the person up.
She heard the room to young master's room open, she run as fast as her legs could carry her not wanting him to see her standing there. As she was going to the kitchen Mrs Evans called out to her and asked what had taken her so long, she simply stayed silent as she didn't have anything to say knowing she wasn't allowed to go close to that door. Wanting to walk away, something else caught her eye, the way Mr Evans looked at her.
