On a blisteringly hot afternoon at the end of summer, Su Muyan hurriedly trotted on the heat-emitting asphalt road in her ten-centimeter black heels. Tiny beads of sweat surfaced on her forehead as a sense of urgency filled her luminous eyes.
As she stood at the roadside hailing a car, she kept recalling the instructions from General Manager Wang before she left home: As long as she could please the guest from Korea, Director Park, he would sign off a huge order immediately. This would mark the end of her two-month-long internship.
Her colleague, who was also her competitor, had recently closed several smaller deals. The company was deliberating over whom to keep between the two. Whether Su Muyan could gracefully turn the tables rested on this unseen Korean client and his order.
Carrying an immense pressure, she secretly made up her mind— no matter how much Director Park tested her, she would persist unless… certain boundaries were crossed.
Due to rush hour traffic, she arrived at the Jianglou Xiaoyue Business Club late by fifteen minutes than the agreed time.
Without even sparing a glance at the door number, following the waiter's guidance, she rushed into a luxurious private room on the second floor.
The traditional Chinese-style decoration under the opulence of the crystal chandelier, appeared regally affluent. An imposing silhouette of a man could slightly be seen behind the exquisite handcrafted Suzhou-embroidered screen— The client was already here!
She had no time to admire the interior decor. She nervously clenched her small hands, put on a smile, and hurriedly walked around the screen towards the icy-faced client.
She took a deep breath and repeated her earlier resolution in her mind. Sheepishly, she explained in Korean, "Hello, I'm Su Muyan from Xin Cheng Trade. I apologize for being late because of a traffic jam."
The man didn't say a word. It felt like he hadn't seen her at all. He poured himself a glass using a wine decanter and pondered while sipping it.
Su Muyan stood there dumbfounded, staring at him as if appreciating a piece of art:
His black hair scattered over his firm forehead; his prominent nose resembling carved marble, cold and hard lines yet exuding tremendous authority; his ink-colored eyes, deep and inscrutable, wouldn't give any clue about what he was currently thinking.
Was he angry? It did not seem so. Wasn't he angry? But he ignored her— What a peculiar person!
However, Director Park is so stylish! He is even nicer to look at than any main male character in Korean dramas.
It seems that I will not find it too hard to drink today. Accompanied by such an aloof and attractive man, even if he takes advantage of me, it wouldn't be much of a loss, right?
Su Muyan thought cheerfully. She took the initiative to step forward and get close to him, "The weather is so hot, let me hang up your suit for you." Her Korean language skills were pretty good because she majored in it during university.
The cool guy, however, didn't respond to her.
She showed an awkward smile on her face, her small hand gently touching the broad shoulder of the man and sliding it underneath his loosely hung suit, warmth coming to her palm from his body.
The man glanced at her with disdain in his deep eyes.
This made Su Muyan feel uncomfortable as if she were being regarded as a woman who would just sell her body and soul for money.
Let him think, as long as today’s order is signed, the first goal after graduation will hopefully be achieved!
She comforted herself in her heart, boldly poured his empty glass full of red wine, acted cute and obediently sat down next to the man, gently patting his back, "do not be angry okay? I am truly sorry. Let's drink this to make up for it.”
She coquettishly tossed a flirtatious wink at him. Anyway, this man seemed to be so indifferent, even if she made a move, he shouldn't act rashly.
The man ignored her while she looked at him with affectionate eyes, and finished the glass of red wine alone by tilting her neck.
Having finished a glass, seeing the man still sitting there as if watching a strange creature, she leaned her head obediently towards the man, blinking her eyes flirtatiously.
The man still remained silent, but his eyebrows were furrowed deeper.
"Okay, okay, If you are still unhappy, can I punish myself with three more drinks?" She, despite his disdain, soothingly rubbed his frowning brow, then filled three glasses of wine for herself, "Watch me, I'm going to drink. Once I finish drinking, you're not allowed to be angry anymore!"
She finished speaking in fluent Korean, her eyes seductively flirtatious. She watched his darker-than-ink eyes, and drank one glass of wine after another.
After putting down the last wine glass, the man seemed to be even more annoyed with her. He directly stood up from the mahogany Chinese-style chair, pushed away Su Muyan who was clinging to him like an octopus, and took a step as if to leave.
"Ah, don't go, we haven't finished our conversation!" Su Muyan spoke in fluent Korean, actively jumped into the man's arms, her small face already showing some signs of drunkenness, and she hugged him coquettishly.
"Sir Ye, the representative of the Dahua negotiation was blocked on the way, and she will not be able to arrive until a little later." At this time, a bodyguard in a black Chinese-style collar walked in, spoke fluent Chinese to the man and then looked at Su Muyan, who was in his arms with a confused look, "Who is this lady?"
"And I was about to ask you, where did you find this Korean prostitute?" The man known as Sir Ye, asked irritably in Chinese.
