Warm fingers entwine with mine, pressing my hands deeper in the mattress. I can't see who it is, but one thing I know is that it was really Josh who I met with last night. I groaned in frustration as I tried to deflect his move.
Damn! He's too heavy. His hand slowly maneuvered down on my legs as he chuckled. I gasp there.
"Want to do it?" his voice was husky as I eyed him half asleep.
I bit my lip then pinch the hair on his shoulder. He barks a laugh as he stops teasing me.
"Kidding aside, Fely," he uttered.
I didn't respond to him. I just shut my eyes tightly, covering my face with the sheets. I had a hangover from last night, and I'm thankful for this brute who cares for me. I sighed at the realization. He's too prim when it comes to me. I don't know boys can't just do it right beside Josh.
"Stop staring..."
I smirked there and cocked my head as I went up. He knew I was watching him. I sipped at the soup he ordered then glanced at my dead phone.
"You messed up last night..." he uttered.
"Calliope just called me."
I shook my head at him as a response. Though when I heard Calliope's name it suddenly hit me. Damn! She's now planning to throw me out again in the house. Though I'm sure Auntie wouldn't be that hard for me. But her, never mind. She's so badass and not that soft. She"s so different.
"And what did she say?" I asked curiously.
Josh pursed his lips then watched me intently.
"You're doomed." he simply stated.
I bit my lip there. I knew he would say this. I finished my plate as I felt how stiff my neck was. Maybe I didn"t sleep better huh? I'm a mess every time I drink.
"Does she say more?"
"Allowances?" I said intriguing.
Josh's lips pursed. This brute is making me curious. I rolled my eyes at him as he crossed his both arms, preventing me from attacking him.
"She just said you're doomed..."
I breathe there calmly. At least, I knew there's no changes to my allowances. I can't bear if any of it had gone bad because of me escaping last night.
Josh drove me after we both finished our plates. My heart skipped a bit when I read Calliope's message to me. I know, I'm going to be roasted by her words if ever. And I'm starting to figure out what she will say in the case.
"Scared?" Josh eyed me in the rearview mirror.
I glared at him as he parked his car in one of the subdivisions Calliope is staying in. My gaze dropped on him and saw how he was wearing a white long sleeve as his hair was messy, glancing at me intently.
It felt futile to stop myself from meeting his eyes. When I'm too amazed by his looks. He's hot, and every girl may go drooling for him. His forehead creased when he caught me watching him. I shuddered at the thought of it.
"Nope," I smirked at him.
His lips rose at my words.
"Want me to come with you?"
I immediately retorted his ideas coming inside. His brows furrowed at my move as I darted my attention to him. I smiled there indulgently as I moved closer, giving him a peck of a kiss on the cheeks.
His face heated which made me startled, though it only lasted a second. I knew we were casual to each other, which was too foreign for me.
"No, Josh..."
"I get this one," I stated as an assurance.
I started getting my things inside his car, and soon as I finished I gave him a sultry look bidding him goodbye. He just nodded at me as I knew he's watching me from afar.
My heart started to crumble when I clicked the door. I thought Auntie would be here when I arrived to scold me but I gasp as relief when it's just Calliope with her kitten eyes curious at me.
"Where did you go last night?!" her voice thundered as I chuckled.
"You escape again huh?!"
I closed my eyes there. She laments me being a party girl the whole time, and I don't have a problem with that. I knew it. That was the last thing I do for the rest of not remembering the details of that night where I lost all my memory.
"I just go to my classmates..." I started to make an excuse to fool her.
Her forehead wrinkled there.
"It's vacation, Fely..." she glared at me.
"I called them last night."
I bit my lower lip and sighed at her words. I thought she would again bombard me but I guess she's over it now. The deafening silence etched between us. I surveyed the dining area hoping to find her Mom and Dad but I only failed.
"They're not here."
"They"re in my fiance's house..." her words drowned as I got far to the stairs.
I glanced at her there curiously. She just swiftly stared at me then looked away.
"What?"
My eyes widened there. I stepped closer and stared at her too wholesomely. What the hell is happening here? I just messed up last night, and here it is again another one.
"What's happening?!"
"You had a fiance?" my voice was small.
She stroked her hair then glanced at me. I can see how her expression changes for a while. But that's not my concern here.
"They want me there, Fely..."
"But I don't want to."
I massaged my temple there. A rush of assumptions arose as I craned my neck to see Calliope's eyes oozing with so much fear.
"I just don't get it, Fely..."
I darted my eyes when I noticed everything was clear. I can't believe this is happening. I shivered at the thought of her being married. I can't believe it! Everything was too surreal.
"Why all of a sudden?" my voice was small in disappointment.
"I didn't even see his face."
"All I know is he's a well-known business tycoon and billionaire..."
Calliope was on the verge of tears as I took a deep breath. My expressions were soft and gentle.
"But you're going there?" I asked her curiously.
"No, Fely..." he said with finality
She brushed her hair as she looked at me straight. I just nodded as a response and returned my gaze in front.
"Can you do me a favor?"
I swallowed hard as I paused for a moment. I'm not sure how to respond to her, but I just prevented myself from overthinking when she would ask me for the first time.
"Sure what is it?"
Calliope's eyes rested on me for a while as my heart pounded heavily.
"Pretend to be me, Fely..." she murmurs as my eyes widen a fraction.
