In an extravagant private apartment.
On a king-sized bed, laying a young girl.
She was deep in sleep. Her delicate eyebrows were subtly furrowed. Her soft pink lips pouted slightly, swelling from fervent kisses.
The pure white duvet was scattered across her body. Her collarbones were slender and chic, and her skin was as pale as snow.
Yet, on her, were full of pink kiss marks, one by one, nearly connecting on her porcelain-like skin.
The heavy curtains were drawn on the huge floor-to-ceiling window, preventing any light from seeping in. The room was somewhat dim.
Eleanor was sleeping heavily. Ryder had stayed with her last night, leaving her fully satiated.
She was almost exhausted. Under his endless demands, she fell into a deep sleep, not even knowing when he left.
While asleep, her brows furrowed tightly, and she puckered her lips, hinting at some displeasure in her dream.
Suddenly, there were footsteps outside the apartment and the sound of a door unlocking.
Eleanor abruptly woke up, sitting up and clutching her duvet, only to see Ryder and Marlowe approaching her bedroom together.
She was slightly stunned, but immediately calmed herself down. Her eyes were deep and calm as she looked at the two people walking in.
Ryder entered with a cold expression without so much as glancing at Eleanor, while Marlowe was smiling, affectionately hooking Ryder's arm.
Ryder's arm, the arm of Eleanor's husband.
Feeling a slight tightness in her throat, Eleanor, though flustered at the torrent of emotions surging in her heart, managed to slowly say:
"Ryder, Marlowe, is there something wrong?" Eleanor looked at the stoic Ryder, feeling a sudden surge of unease in her heart.
Upon hearing this, Marlowe gave a soft laugh, her beautiful eyes scanning the surroundings.
This apartment was extremely luxurious, with a sizeable living space. Ryder was indeed generous to his woman.
Eleanor seemed to be quite capable — managing to stay by his side for so long.
Even more, she was able to gain the favor of the old man of the family, marrying into a wealthy family overnight. However, it seemed she wasn't living quite comfortably.
At least, Ryder was unwilling to move back to the family home with her, preferring to have her stay in this apartment.
