"I'm getting married, just like that?"
Shen Qingyu stood at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, somewhat dazed as she looked at the marriage certificate in her hand.
She didn’t expect to have completed a sequence of events from being single to getting married within half a day, including blind dating and registering for marriage, with her ex-boyfriend's colleague.
"Shall I take you back to school first?"
The man interrupted her thoughts, his voice low and mellow.
Shen Qingyu nodded in agreement, "Okay."
The car he drove was an ordinary domestic vehicle, priced at around one hundred thousand, not very expensive. This relaxed Shen Qingyu a little, not feeling like she was marrying up, nor worrying about him taking advantage of her.
Once they got in the car, there were no words spoken between the two of them.
Shen Qingyu glanced slightly, only to see the man's hands gripping the steering wheel, his knuckles distinct, slender and fair. He wore a white shirt, with the sleeves neatly rolled up, revealing clear and sharp lines of his arm.
In the end, Shen Qingyu's gaze fell on the man's side face, his cold eyebrows, prominent nose, tight lips, and a pair of great-looking eyes under the golden glasses. The entire facial contour was angular and distinctive.
It occurred to her that she had encountered this man a few times before, for he was her ex-boyfriend's colleague.
She never imagined that one day, they would end up being matchmaking partners, and then hastily married partners.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Shen Qingyu couldn’t help remembering the scene of their blind date at the café just a few hours ago.
"Dr. Shi, hello, I'm Shen Qingyu."
"I think since we're here for a blind date, let's be upfront and discuss everything clearly in advance. If we can move forward, let's carry on; if not, we can avoid wasting each other's time. How does that sound?"
After Shen Qingyu had spoken, Shi Li nodded his head, "Alright."
Shen Qingyu continued, "So, I will talk first. I am currently a teacher in No.3 Middle School, with a monthly salary of around eight thousand."
"I live with my mother in my step-father's house, she and my step-father have a son together. Our family conditions are not great, so when I get married, I won't bring a dowry, and I don't want a betrothal gift."
"If you own a house fully, there's no need to add my name. If it's a mortgaged house, I can help repay the loan, but my name needs to be added."
What Shen Qingyu said was straightforward, Shi Li listened calmly throughout, his face didn't show any signs of disgust.
Shen Qingyu asked again, "Doctor Shi, do you have any requirements?"
Shi Li pondered for a moment and looked to her, "Do you cook?"
Cooking was something Shen Qingyu was good at, "I'm quite skilled at cooking and enjoy it too.”
After speaking, she asked, "Doctor Shi, what are your thoughts on having children?"
"I don't plan on having children until I'm equipped to raise one." Shi Li responded calmly. "Any other questions?"
For Shen Qingyu, while considering a blind date, the main concerns were money and children. Since they agreed on these two problems, she naturally didn't have any objections.
"Doctor Shi, would you be open to marrying on the spur of the moment? If it's okay with you, I've also brought my household registration, we could register our marriage today." Shen Qingyu proposed.
Shi Li gently laughed, "You seem quite in a hurry."
Shen Qingyu didn't mind his teasing, she candidly responded, "Of course, Doctor Shi, I understand if you would like a few more days to consider it. I'll wait for your reply."
Just as she finished speaking, she heard Shi Li say, "Let's get it done today then."

"We have arrived." The cool male voice interrupted Shen Qingyu's recollection.
She gathered her thoughts and looked at Shi Li, she asked bashfully, "Um, can I move in with you?"
