Keira was busy on her notepad, checking out her recent designs which were yet to be brought to life. Her workspace was a bit occupied with several fabrics, zippers, threads and needles…
The whole place was a perfect mess if anyone cared to tell her.
Keira had told everyone to stay away from her office as she really needed to think about her next design. She was going to host a fashion week pretty soon and all the designs she managed to scribble….
Something was really plain about this design..
"What's with the….."
Cassie froze at the door on seeing how messed up the Keira work space was.
Keira flashed her a nervous smile, knowing fully well what that look of distate on her best friend's face meant.
"You love me don't you?" Keira asked
"Get up and get this place cleaned up!"
Ten mintues later,Keira could see her work space looking more organised and neat. Cassie was seated graciously on her sofa, staring at her phone screen. She didn't borther to lift a finger ti help Keira…
Whose fault was it that her workspace was looking like a jungle?
"You know, I was thinking we were going to do this together" Keira said packing up the last of the dirt in the trashcan.
Cassie chuckled.
"I just got my nails did and I didn't eat those bag of chips with you did I?" Cassie asked, still on her phone..
"Of course"
Keira pulls her door open and asked one of her attendants to get rid of the dirt.
"What are you stressing about?" Cassie asked in concern
"If I'm going to host a fashion week, there should be lovely pieces to check out for right? So far so good" She stared hopelessly at her designs..
"Nothing" she adds
"You've got this Keira. If there's one thing I know, there's nothing a bowl of ice cream and cookies can't fix!" Cassie cheered
"If you're paying that is" Keira said
The The money she had, was for the fashion show, hoping that her small business would finally get the recognition it deserves. She knew all her business lacked was the right exposure and she was going to start working on that….
"Of course. Goodness, you're so tight about money this days. What's up?" Cassie asked
Keira exhaled and shook her head in exhaustion. This wasn't what she signed up when she got out of college. She had this fairytale about her ambitions but reality was what happened when she was busy planning her life out…
"Come on. Let's go. I need to be back at the store in an hour at least" Cassie informed
Cassie owned one of the most luxurious bag store in the city. She was ordering straight from the factory and making her own money!
It made sense how she and Keira were able to stay close to each other as their interests were almost similar…
"You're the best" Keira smiled
"I know. Hurry"
Keira picks up her phone and took a glance around for her purse or something…
Her phone buzzed, a call from her fiancée, Zach.
Her face brightens up as she connects the call in excitement.
"Hey"
/Hello Keira. I'm so sorry I missed your call! I was with my boss at the time/
Isn't he a sweetie?
"It's fine. I understand. We couldn't talk last night so I called to check up on you " Keira said
Cassie rolled her eyes, she wasn't the biggest fan of Zach and Keira could totally understand why.
Cassie felt like Zach was a jerk for not always being around Keira and for some reason, she thinks Zach was a first class jerk!
Not that Keira had given her a reason to think so. Cassie met Zach for the first time and she'd made her judgement about him instantly.
It would take a miracle for the duo to ever get along…
"I understand. How have you been?" Keira asked
"You've got five mintues. I'll be right outsode" Cassie walks out of the office
/Was that Cassie?/ Zach asked
"Yeah.we were heading for a ice cream store. My designs have been really plain and I might need that scoop to get it all together" she explained
/If you say so. I've really missed you Keira. Maybe we could have dinner tonight? What do you say?/ He asked
Keira smiled brightly
"Absolutely. Text me the address"
/will do. Love you/
"Love you too"
Keira joins a irritated Cassie at the main store. Although the shop isn't an entirely huge space but it was enough for any passer by to see her designs through the show glass and the cloth racks too.
"What did he say this time? His mum got sick? That's why he didn't call you?" Cassie said in sarcasm.
"Goodness Cassie! When are you going to let things be?" Keira asked
"Never? I don't like that guy for some reason. You should be stuck to someone else for real" Cassie said
Keira shook her head..
"Come on Cassie. Let's get that icecream" She cajoled
"I'm just telling you Keira. That man is no good" Cassie adds
"I'll keep that in mind"
They walked out of the store, heading for Cassie's car. Keira noticed it was a new sleek looking grey SUV
"When did you get a new ride?" Kiera asked, genuinely admiring the vehicle.
"Yesterday? It just popped out of nowhere. A present"
Keira nods still admiring…
"This is great." She stared at Cassie" we get to go on night cruises right?"
Cassie burst into laughter
"Come on in"
"Please let me drive"
Cassie tossed Keira the keys
"All yours miss "
"Yes!!"
Keira settled beh8nd the drivers seat and ignites the engine…
"I could steal this from you" Keira said jokingly….
"You wouldn't dare" Cassie chuckled
"I know. Jail is not my destination. Let's see what this baby can do"
Keira drove the car off at the highest speed, driving them to their favourite ice cream store….
"Remind me never to allow you drive me again" Cassie said in horror
Keira bursts into laughter
