PRE -CONCEPTION
Pre- conception is a very significant period for any goal or dream that can be achieved; the bible refers to four kinds of soils or gardens that we will find while on this journey of life. Jesus taught in parables to reveal spiritual truth that also applied to everyday life, this parable is found in Mathew 13 verse 1 to 23, Jesus discusses various types of soil the seeds of a farmer landed and they are; soil beside the road, rocky soil, thorny soil and good soil. This is one of the key determinants of the harvest a farmer will obtain in other words “the kind of fruits we will be able to produce in our lives”. When opportunities present themselves to us in life, what condition of hearts and minds will they find? Is it pessimistic or positive minds before we complain about what did not go well?
Whatever we sow we shall likewise reap, however each soil or garden type will produce different yield, it’s upon each one of us to choose and determine the kind of garden or soil type we want to become, hence the potential yield we can anticipate. “It’s not our mistake to have been born in bondage but it will be our mistake if we remain in bondage”. What kind of Christian would you like to be? , what are your dreams or aspirations in life? What is the condition of your heart? How much have you invested in yourself? Just as it’s possible to change the state of soil or garden in which you are preparing to plant your crops so it’s for our hearts and minds. There is also no permanent kind of soil type you will find everywhere; even the poor soils can be improved once the farmer puts into appropriate methods and effort and so is the reverse, good soils can become worthless if good care is not taken either by the farmer.
As pilgrims on earth too, all stages of life are important, they are inter related and you cannot have only some stages, but as human beings, we always rely on human knowledge and experience for guidance in every aspect as we live daily however God our creator is the epitome of wisdom, knowledge and our being. The Bible declares that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom proverbs 9:10, God remains our best mentor and ally in this journey of our dreams and life but before we embark on this great journey we need to also examine our heritage and how it has influenced our world we live in today, it’s also the source of what we are and see.
