Inside the bedroom.
"So hot...It's so hot..."
The moonlight was as tranquil as water, silently spilling over the bed where a woman's figure was vaguely discernible.
The woman's gaze was unfocused, her hands continuously clutching the sheets beneath her.
"Don't worry, my beauty, wait a moment, I'm coming..."
A man leant over her, his gross yellow-toothed mouth eagerly inching closer...
Suddenly, the door was violently kicked open with a loud 'bang'.
"Su Wan, you slut, I can't believe you'd cheat on me!"
In the doorway stood an irate man dressed in a crisp black suit. His features were icy and intimidating, yet did not conceal his nobility and dominance.
On hearing the violent kick of the door, the woman on the bed slightly turned her head.
"Lu...Master Lu, have mercy. It was her, she lured me here. She seduced and coerced me to...it's not my fault!"
The man was so frightened that he rolled off the bed, hastily clothed himself and darted out the door.
Finally clear of who the man at the door was, the woman on the bed opened her mouth to utter a moan, "Shaoting…"
A waiter was walking by the door with a coffee tray. The man, whose face was grim to the extreme, snatched a coffee cup without thinking. He strode to the bedside and splashed the coffee onto Su Wan's face.
"Don't ever speak my name again! Su Wan, as of today, we are no longer husband and wife! The years I spent being married to you were the greatest shame of my life!"
Awoken by the burning heat of coffee on her face, Su Wan instantly regained consciousness. She took one look at herself and let out a shriek, hastily grabbing the bedsheet, and wrapping her body snugly. She then looked toward the man in front of her, whose gaze seemed like it was about to tear her apart.
"Shaoting... what on earth... oh god, let me explain— I was... I think I've been played for a fool!"
Su Wan tried to get out of the bed as she spoke, but the oversized bedsheet tripped her up, causing her to tumble straight to the floor.
Looking at her disheveled form, Lu Shaoting's eyes were full of disgust and anger. He turned around and resolutely left the room.
Her panic sent Su Wan scrambling for her clothes.
Being Lu Corp's annual celebration, she had made sure to dress up. Her goal was to win back her husband's heart persistently. She never expected to suddenly feel unwell, so her friend Chen Xin brought her here to rest.
But how did everything end up this way?
Su Wan hasty chased after him, but was held back by the bodyguard.
"Miss Su, Young Master Lu said he'll get the divorce agreement to you as soon as possible. From tonight onwards, you are never allowed to step foot in the Lu mansion."
It felt like a punch to Su Wan's stomach.
Divorce Agreement...
She knew Lu Shaoting never truly loved her, with today's incident, he would just hate her more. But she never thought that he would divorce her without even hearing her out!
"Lu Shaoting..."
Su Wan wanted to call after the man who was swiftly marching away, when a stunning figure stepped into her path.
"Wan Wan, what happened? Why is Brother Shaoting so angry?"
Chen Xin suddenly appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Su Wan.
Panicked and heartbroken, Su Wan said, "Chen Xin, Shao Ting says he wants to divorce me, he misunderstands me, please move, I need to find him and explain!"
A bright flash in Chen Xin’s eyes, she then grabbed Su Wan who was about to run out, "Wan Wan don’t worry, I know where brother Shao Ting is going, follow me."
Su Wan, tears streaming down her face, let Chen Xin lead her to the car.
Soon, the car stopped at the top of Wu Feng Mountain. It was the highest point in City B, with a panoramic view of the entire city.
"Xin Xin, where is Shao Ting? Where is he?" Embracing her body tightly, Su Wan asked. The chilly night wind made her shiver.
Chen Xin remained silent. A weird glint was in her eyes when she looked at Su Wan.
Su Wan unconsciously took two steps back, "Xin Xin, I was framed tonight, I didn’t get involved with that man…”
"I know.” Chen Xin quickly interrupted Su Wan's words.
"You...", Su Wan frowned slightly, unsure if it was her illusion, but the woman in front of her seemed different from usual.
An item wrapped in white paper was thrown at Su Wan's feet, "Thanks to this small packet tonight, Brother Shao Ting has grown tired of you once and for all. I’ve always known you to be a fool, Su Wan, but I didn't realize how much. You would even drink the beverage handed over by any stranger."
With the biting night wind blowing, Chen Xin's expression was veiled with a trace of gloom and Schadenfreude.
"Xin Xin..." Su Wan’s eyes widened in disbelief. Even if she were foolish, she would not misunderstand Chen Xin's implications.
Abruptly, she picked up the pack of drugs on the ground, and the scene of Chen Xin handing her the drink at the banquet tonight flashed through her mind... She trembled in anger, "Chen Xin, why would you do this?"
"Why?" Chen Xin sneered, "Then why did you steal the marriage that should have been mine?"

"Behind the scenes?" Chen Xin mocked, shaking off Su Wan's grip, "No, these are all calculated plans in the open."
Under Su Wan's shocked gaze, Chen Xin slowly began, "Or else, how do you think you ended up in Gu Yong's room all those years ago, having a relationship with him? Do you think I mentioned every little detail about Brother Shaoting's likes and dislikes to you? Do you really think it was your carelessness that caused Aunt Lu to be food poisoned last month?"
"So it's all you." Su Wan stepped back.
Last month, when Lu Shaoting's mother was food-poisoned, it was traced back to something she cooked. She couldn't defend herself at the time, but she never once drugged Aunt Lu's food. The only one who had the chance to meddle was Chen Xin, who helped midway.
"You're terrifying, I'm going to tell Shaoting!"
"Ha!" Chen Xin laughed crazily, "Su Wan, do you think anyone in the Lu family would believe you now? Or..."
Chen Xin's eyes turned eerie and insane. "Do you even have that chance anymore?"
"What are you up to.... ah!"
Before Su Wan could finish speaking, her body was fiercely pushed backwards by the woman before her.
Behind her was a precipice.
With a look of despair, Su Wan let out a scream the next second and tumbled down.
Looking at the woman rolling into the darkness, Chen Xin laughed wildly in satisfaction. "Rest in peace, Su Wan. I'll seat well in the place of the Missy in the Lu's family," she boasted.
