Introduction
Katherine Sinclair was once the beloved daughter of a prestigious family, living a life of luxury and admiration. But overnight, everything crumbled. Betrayed, abandoned, and discarded like a pawn in a ruthless game, she became nothing more than a shadow of her former self—despised, unwanted, and trapped in a dangerous world she could no longer control. With nowhere left to run, she takes a desperate gamble—stepping in front of a black Rolls-Royce belonging to Damian Thorne, the most powerful and enigmatic tycoon of Y City. Ruthless in business and dangerous in every sense, Damian is a man no one dares to cross. "Take me away," she pleads, her voice unwavering despite the storm raging in her heart. He chuckles, amusement flickering in his dark eyes. "Miss Sinclair, do you think I rescue lost kittens?" But Katherine knows the game. And she knows that if there’s anyone who can match Leon Blackwood—the man who destroyed her life—it’s Damian Thorne. This time, she refuses to be the prey. This time, she’s ready to play.

In the VIP room of the SKY Bar, veiled lights cast an ambiguous glow, enhancing the luxurious ambiance. On the plush bed, a girl stirred restlessly, her body consumed by an unbearable heat. She unconsciously tugged at her collar, murmuring, “Ugh… so hot.”

She gripped the blanket, her lips slightly parted. Suddenly, a cool, large palm brushed against her heated skin. The contrast sent a shiver down her spine, and she whimpered, instinctively seeking more of the chill. “Cold… it’s cold…”

Her delicate hand clutched his larger one, guiding it downward…

Where ice met fire.

A deep, intoxicating voice murmured in her ear, “Be good, don’t move. There’s more chill to come.”

Darkness surrounded her, stripping her of sight, leaving only sensation. The unbearable heat consumed her as if flames licked at her skin. The only relief was the cool palm that swept across her arm, drawing out the searing warmth.

The unexpected chill made her instinctively hug herself.

But before she could seek refuge in her own embrace, the man’s larger hand slid hers away. His breath brushed against her ear, his voice low and commanding. “Good girl, don’t move.”

“Ugh…”

Something warm and soft pressed against her lips. She attempted to resist, but the dominant, icy aura surrounding her left her powerless. Her struggles were in vain.

A strange, unfamiliar sensation coursed through her body. Uncomfortable, she frowned and weakly pushed at his chest. But he didn’t budge—an immovable force pinning her beneath him. It was as if she had fallen into an invisible web, tangled and breathless.

Kisses rained down on her like a delicate yet overwhelming storm, leaving her in a daze.

A sharp pain suddenly tore through her. Her body shuddered, and instinctively, she tried to cry out—only for her lips to be sealed shut once more, denying her even the slightest breath of relief.

Their sweat-drenched bodies pressed tightly together. After the reckless storm of passion, Katherine was left with nothing but exhaustion and a lingering ache.

The sky shifted, rolling clouds revealing their underbelly.

Katherine’s eyes fluttered open to unfamiliar surroundings. Her brows furrowed as she shifted, only to be met with a wave of soreness. Every inch of her body ached.

And then, like a bolt of lightning—

She had lost her virginity.

Fragments of the previous night rushed back. The hazy bar, the dizzying warmth of alcohol, the stranger beside her…

A tremor ran through her. Slowly, she turned her head and glanced at the man sleeping beside her. His face was obscured by shadows, but his presence was undeniable.

She wanted to die.

Maybe stepping in front of an oncoming tofu cart would be the best way out of this mess.

Swallowing down her panic, she slipped out of bed, quickly pulling on her clothes and shoes. Her fingers fumbled in her bag until she found some cash—thirty yuan. The last of her dignity.

She placed it on the bedside table along with a hastily scribbled note:

Buddy, it’s your bad luck. This lady only has thirty yuan. If we meet again, I’ll make it up to you. You weren’t bad.

Dropping the pen carelessly, she turned on her heel and slipped out of the room.

The hallway was eerily silent. She tugged at her collar, her eyes darting around nervously as she tiptoed toward the exit, praying she wouldn’t run into anyone she knew.

The moment she stepped outside the bar, she flagged down a taxi. Relief barely had time to settle before her phone rang.

She hesitated, staring at the screen.

Home.

After half a minute, she finally answered. “What is it?”

A deep, authoritative voice cut through the line, making her spine stiffen.

“Katherine, are you deliberately rebelling?”

Her heart sank. Maxwell—the most powerful man in City X. And unfortunately for her, her father.
