***Dear Diary…***

*Today I'm going back to high school again, I'm starting my senior year, and to top it all off, I feel scared as if I've seen a ghost land right behind my back in my dresser mirror.*

*Two years have passed, two years since my father had died in that tragic plane crash from which I managed to get out alive.*

*When I close my eyes at night to sleep, the only thing I can see are the small images of the accident, I see the plane moving so hard because of the turbulence, I see the suitcases fall to the ground and on top of the people, I hear the screams of terror from all over the world, I hear the desperate cries for this nightmare to end quickly, and the last thing I can see is myself holding my father's hand to stop being afraid and think that whatever would happen, we would be fine .*

*Unfortunately, the plane fell into a jungle, at least it was near the Florida coast, the plane would take us from Florida to North Carolina, we were going to spend the weekend there because of my father's work, it was Businessman, he dedicated himself to working as an independent for companies that paid him an excellent commission in exchange for doing what they did not want; convince investors and travel to visit them and secure the business.*

*He was going to work, and I was stubborn, I had gone with him just to accompany him, I didn't want to stay home alone all weekend, and even if I had my best friends to have taken advantage of that moment and gone out with them like this like my father told me to do, honestly, I don't know why I didn't, any normal teenager would have done it in my place, but I didn't, I just got the idea that I had to travel with him, and I insisted so much that he ended up giving in to my pleas.*

*I only hoped that today, when I got to high school after having disappeared for so long from society submerged in my pain, that no one would come up to ask me how I was doing, because I was sure that I had to pretend, I was going to have to come to high school with a grin from ear to ear so no one would approach me, and if they did, I would have to lie in my answer.*

Emma Jensen stopped writing in her journal, a black-painted leather notebook that had a lock for sure that was strong enough that no one else would open it, her set of keys was small, and she brought with her a blue heart-shaped key chain. that her father had given her when he bought the newspaper on one of his business trips to which she had not been able to accompany him because of her studies.

Emma looks at the clock on her nightstand, it showed that it was 6:00 in the morning, throughout the night, she had not fallen asleep, and therefore, she had no choice but to take her computer, and stay in bed with her watching series on the internet, until she got bored and decided to start writing.

But she had already written what she needed to vent in her journal, and then, she decided it was time for her to get ready for her first day of school.

She looked at herself in the mirror when she got out of the shower and got dressed, Emma she had always been one of the most popular girls in high school, she was blonde, blue-eyed, and a cheerleader's body.

In her heyday, she had been a phenomenal high school cheerleader, she was the typical girl that all the boys in high school, no matter what grade they were in, were dying for her, even if it was for going on a date with her and getting rejected, they did not care, they were satisfied with just saying; I've been on a date with Emma Jensen, and even though she turned me down, it was great.

Emma picks up the black backpack that she had left on the floor the night before next to the dresser, she looks at herself one last time in the mirror, making sure that the clothes she was wearing made her look like before; she was wearing black jeans, with a red t-shirt attached to her body, and a black leather jacket over her because that morning she had woken up with gray clouds announcing rain for the whole day.

Her blonde hair had been left loose, it was smart, and she didn't have to put herself in the tedious task of combing it until it was perfectly combed, because with a single comb movement it was enough to have left it beautiful.

Emma leaves her room, and goes down to the first floor of the house, finding herself face to face with a completely empty space, it was a home that no longer felt like home to her, because even though only she and her father lived there , at least, their relationship was so good that the loneliness of both was not felt at all.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there was always laughter in the kitchen, she and her father had a lot of fun cooking together.

But now, the kitchen was empty, and having started to prepare a coffee for herself was the most depressing thing in her life, however, she had to do it because not having slept all night, she needed to have enough energy if she wanted to make it. at least her senior year was worth it to herself.

She drinks her coffee in the kitchen without having to sit in the dining room, she made herself a ham and cheese sandwich because she knew she couldn't leave on an empty stomach, because where her father was alive, and he would have realized that she he was going to go to high school without eating anything, it was certain that he would have scolded him.
