Introduction
She was originally the cherished miss of the Hansley family, and rightfully Mrs Dawson, but Jayden Dawson utterly detested her. Because in his eyes, she was a scheming woman who deliberately climbed into his bed. After marriage, he hated her, resented her, insulted her, and accused her of usurping Mrs Dawson's position. He had originally intended to reserve this position for the one he held dear in his heart. She could understand his hate and also agreed to sign a marriage agreement with a term of one year. Half a year later, she resolutely left with the child in her belly. He, however, was filled with regret too late and began frantically searching for her everywhere in the world. One year later, she suddenly appeared in front of him when the marriage contract expired. "Mr Dawson, we should file for divorce." Holding her tightly in his arms, he refused, "Divorce? That's impossible in this life!"

"Jay... this is honey water, it can alleviate your drunkenness."

Freya carefully held a cup of warm honey water, offering it to Jayden, who had just returned home from entertaining guests.

Jayden was resting with his eyes closed on the couch when he abruptly opened his slightly bloodshot eyes and gave her a cold glance, his gaze brimming with disgust.

"Freya, you really are despicable! You undressed yourself on purpose and climbed into my bed for money, forcing me to marry you."

"Right now, even looking at you for one more second disgusts me, hurry up and get lost!"

Freya bit her lip tightly, stifling the humiliation and upset in her heart. She silently endured the man's rampant belittling.

Today was their third marriage day and the first time she had seen her newlywed husband.

But she hadn't expected his first words to her to be filled with mockery and disgust.

Jayden Dawson, the president of the Dawson Corporation, was from one of the wealthiest families in the Lufenia and the most cherished grandson of Master Dawson.

He was the third eldest in the Dawson family, and everyone reverently referred to him as 'Jay'.

If one could use a single word to describe the public's view of Jayden, it would be - perfect.

Although he was born into a wealthy family, he was not a prodigal son. Ever since he took over the Dawson Corporation, he led the entire Dawson family to new achievements.

Not only did he have a commanding presence in the business world, but he also had nearly impeccable looks. He was even voted online as one of the most wanted perfect husbands a woman wished to marry in her lifetime.

However, in the public's eyes, this seemingly perfect husband already had his heart set on someone.

Before she married him, she knew who the woman he wanted to marry was. Perhaps it was a twist of fate that they became husband and wife in the end.

They were a legally married couple with no feelings, no wedding, and just a marriage certificate.

"Are you not going to leave?"

Jayden lifted his eyebrows in displeasure. He glanced at the juice cup tightly held in Freya's hands and sneered lightly, "Did you mix in medicine? Are you planning to get back into my bed, have my child, and demand more money from the Dawson family?"

"Is this disgusting trick also taught by your father, Trenton Hansley?"

"No, my father and I never thought about it that way. Jayden," Freya firmly shook her head.

"Never thought about it?" Jayden smirked at her words and said sarcastically, "Freya, don’t forget how you became Mrs Dawson."

"I... I really don’t know how it ended up like this... I really don’t know..."

Freya lowered her head in shame, not daring to meet Jayden's penetrating, cold gaze. She bit her lip. Her embarrassment and grief made her eyes well up with tears.

The memory of that night flashed through her mind in the next moment...

A week ago, she returned to her home country after studying abroad, and it was also her 22nd birthday, so her father held a birthday party for her.

All she remembered was that she was helped to the hotel room door that night after a few drinks and unable to hold her own.

Then she walked into the room groggily, stumbled onto the bed, and was about to pull the blanket over herself to sleep when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist.

She was completely dumbfounded when she found out that she mistakenly climbed into Jayden's bed!

When she reacted and tried to run, Jayden saw her as a scheming woman.

To punish her, he tied her hands with a tie, threw her into the bathroom, and locked her in for the whole night. Her hands were untied the next day, and she was allowed out of the bathroom.

She initially thought that after leaving the hotel, the whole matter would be over. However, not long after, a photo of her leaving the hotel with Jayden was deliberately sent to the Dawson family.

Upon seeing this, Master Dawson took the initiative to find her and proposed that she marry Jayden.

Initially, she didn't want to accept this marriage, but she felt helpless as the Hansley Group faced a financial crisis.

Hansley Group was a company that her mother had painstakingly established. Her mother had fallen ill until she became a vegetative patient lying in a hospital bed all day long due to overwork.

Because of Hansley Group's financial health, they could afford her mother's medical expenses for a long time. However, Hansley Group was facing difficulties now, and her mother's medical expenses would soon be interrupted if things continued this way.

Looking at her father's worried countenance over the Hansley Group's funds and her mother’s forthcoming medical expense interruption, she couldn't bear it, so she agreed to Master Dawson's marriage proposal.

But Jayden held a grudge against her because of this. He was angry at her for taking the position of Mrs Dawson, a position he had initially wanted to reserve for the woman he loved.

"Read the conditions in the document. Sign it as soon as possible if there are no problems."

Jayden picked up a file from the sofa and tossed it at Freya.

The file flew at her face, hitting her hands heavily. The juice cup in her hand and the file thrown at her fell to the floor...

The sudden pain startled her back to reality. She looked down and saw a mess on the floor. Her heart was instantly filled with a jumble of emotions. There was an indescribable sadness or realization in her heart.

She swallowed her sense of humiliation. Then, she bent down to pick up the file from the floor and asked, "What is this?"

Jayden didn't respond. He gave her a sweep of annoyance and then took out a box of cigarettes, lit one, and began smoking.

Freya didn't ask any more questions after seeing the apparent impatience on his face.

She opened the file and saw two A4 papers inside. After carefully examining the paper's bold black title, 'Marriage Agreement', her face couldn't help but freeze.

She carefully read the content of the agreement.

The main points stated that she must not commit any acts detrimental to the Dawson family and Jayden's reputation during the marriage. She must not interfere with his affairs, let alone tell anyone that she is his wife.

The marriage contract lasted for one year, after which both would process a divorce. Jayden would give her thirty million and three properties as compensation, and after that, the two would have nothing more to do with each other.

She noticed that Jayden had already signed his name at the end of the agreement.

Freya didn't care much about the other restrictions and compensations in the agreement, but what surprised and excited her was the clause stating they would divorce after a year.

"Are you sure you want a divorce a year from now? But, about grandpa.."

Jayden sternly interrupted before she could finish her sentence, "How could you have possibly married into the Dawson family with your status if it were not for my grandfather's order?"

"One year is already the limit of my tolerance for this absurd marriage."

After saying these, he took a deep puff of his cigarette and exhaled his frustration along with the smoke.

Through the rising smoke, his calm gaze met hers. All she could see in his eyes was indifference and disgust.

She felt tight in her chest and forced a bitter smile, "I'll sign."

She realized that Dallyn would have been the future Mrs Dawson if she hadn't accidentally intruded into his room that night.

Therefore, she understood his hate towards her.

She knew well how agonizing and torturous it was to marry someone one didn't love. But who could she blame?

That was her own choice. If there was anyone to blame, it must be fate for playing a cruel joke on her!
