Kate POV

One bed! How am I suppose to share one bed with this man, its against our contract.

I looked up to see if i could get a reaction from him but there was nothing, like he couldn't care less if we slept on the same bed.

Few weeks earlier

Oh gosh why does Jessica have to get married when I just dealt with a heartbreak, well I am not surprised she always wants to steal the spotlight she probably got pissed everybody was worried about me.

Now I have a problem, I need to find a date, he has to be tall and handsome.

I can not attend the wedding alone, mom and dad won't let me be.

I can not believe this my life right now from rejecting all the boys in high school to looking for who I can pay to date me.

Well this not the first desperate thing I've done for my family.

I stood up to get a glass of water and a thought came to my mind, I could just search for a boyfriend online.

I quickly hurried to my room, got to my desk and switch on my laptop, I went to the internet browser searched for boyfriend for rent, and oh my gosh they were a lot, I didn't even think this will be an actual business, I am scrolling through people profiles when suddenly one profile got my attention, in his bio he clearly stated he acts as a plus one for weddings, events, even act as a boyfriend.

He is exactly what I need, I clicked on the rent button and a contract appeared, don't have time to read all those shit.

Time to look for what to wear, going downstairs and I grab my car keys to the boutique, listening to my favourite sad music in the car cause lately life has not been good.

Entering into the boutique shop is like entering an arts exhibit of clothes.

Each dress looks like a masterpiece.

A staff came up to me and asks if I am looking for any particular dress

Oh not really, when I find something I'll let you know. She agrees and leaves

I notice a couple, they were laughing and making jokes at each other.

Ezekiel, I whispered, we could have been legendary if he wasn't a legendary liar.

My phone started ringing I looked to see who could be calling me, it was Mom, I became hesitant, should I pick up, should I not. I eventually picked up the call and I regretted my decision immediately.

The person on the other end is Jessica, she greets me with her familiar fake voice, probably cause somehow it's about her, she says she called me with mom's phone cause she knew I would not pick up hers and she is damn right.

The last time I picked up her call was when I was going through my depression, she called to flaunt her new man when I just lost mine, since then I basically just ignore her calls.

Jessica told me the colour for the wedding has changed, that she wants the people close to her to wear light pink while the other guests like myself could wear any colour apart from that, I laughed and said dad won't allow that, if there is anything dad cares more about than himself it's family reputation.

How do you think the media will react when the sister to the bride is dressed like an outcast, she hissed at me and cut the call.

Well that shut her up I said as I continued strolling the mall, then I noticed I am surrounded by couples, my cheeks turned bright red, I had to leave before someone mistakes me for a staff.

I got in my car, was about to go home when I received a text on my phone, it was my rented boyfriend, he said, he is at the airport, I should come pick him up, I was in awe, didn't I just book him a few hours ago and plus the wedding is not tonight, where is he even going to stay.

One thing for sure is that I could not just leave him at the airport, so I decided to go pick him up, he texted that he is putting on a black suit, like how is that going to make him stand out.

I entered the airport and went to the arrivals area and I saw him, standing like he owns the place, good posture, jawline sharp enough to cut open an apple.

He looks so unfazed, unaware of the eyes he's drawing.

Then he starts to approach me, removing his sunglasses to look me dead in my eyes, oh god he is hot, I said in my head.

He introduces himself as David, and I could barely utter words, "you're too close," I whispered.

He asks what did I say, and I came back to my senses, straightened up, cleared my throat like that would erase what just happened in my head.

"Nothing," I said, way too fast.

His mouth curved, not quite a smile, just enough to let me know he heard me the first time.

"You must be Kate." He said it like he already knew the answer, like he'd read my file before he even got off the plane.

That's me. The one paying you, remember.

"I remember everything about a job." He picked up his bag off the floor in one movement, easy, like it weighed nothing. "That's how I keep clients happy."

I didn't know what to do with my hands so I just grabbed my car keys tighter.

He was taller up close, and there was something about the way he looked at me, not like the other men who couldn't stop staring, David's eyes moved past me for half a second, scanning the airport like he was checking for something, or someone.

"You okay?" I asked, before I could stop myself.

"Fine." He said it too fast for someone who claimed to be fine. "Lead the way."

I turned to walk to the car, and for a second I forgot this was supposed to be business.

All I could think was, I hope he doesn't notice I'm still staring.
