Introduction
I slipped into the water, on the verge of drowning as I cried out to my boyfriend on the shore for help. Yet, he asked me to wait for him while he delivered an ice cream to his goddess before returning to save me. However, I couldn't wait. By the time he placated his goddess and came to rescue me, I had already sunk into the depths of the lake in despair. Later, I reclaimed all his entertainment resources and in the blink of an eye, he went from being a popular star to a lowly and pitiful has-been. He knelt before me, begging for my help. But I didn't recognize him: "I'm sorry, I lost my memory when I fell into the water. Could you introduce yourself first?"

I fell into the water, desperately calling for my boyfriend on the shore to save me. But he told me to wait while he brought ice cream to his crush.

But I couldn't wait. I had already sunk into the lake in despair when he returned.

Later, I revoked all his resources in the entertainment industry, turning him from a rising star into a nobody.

He knelt before me and begged me to help him.

But I couldn't recognize him. "Sorry, I lost my memory when I fell into the water. Can you introduce yourself?"

"Help..."

"Nel! Nel!" Matius returned after delivering the ice cream, finally remembering that I was drowning. The smile he wore while charming his crush disappeared, and he panicked as he jumped into the water to save me.

But it was too late.

By the time I regained consciousness, I was in the hospital.

Matius was the first to rush to my side, apologizing repeatedly and even slapping himself. "Nel, I'm so sorry. I thought you could swim..."

"Aren't you her boyfriend? How could you not know?" Beryl pushed Matius away in disgust. "Nel, how are you feeling?"

"I'm good." I glanced around and asked my best friend who Matius was. "How did I end up in the hospital?"

Matius froze at my question. He tried to hold my hand but was pulled away by Beryl.

"Nel, we were on an outing, and you accidentally fell into the water.” Matius quickly explained. “You were already unconscious when I got you out."

Before long, the country's leading brain specialists surrounded my bed. They examined me with concerned expressions and said, 'Ms. York, this is a post-drowning syndrome. You might have trouble remembering things for a while, but it should get better with time.'"

After that, I went through my contact list and WhatsApp. I clearly remembered everyone except Matius, my supposed boyfriend.

Beryl said Matius was a star I made famous despite his scandalous past. I could tell Beryl wasn’t fond of him.

Beryl was my childhood friend and a top celebrity herself. If it weren’t for me, she’d never have bothered with Matius. She even said she could understand everything I’d done before, except falling for Matius and being so devoted to him.

Was my taste that bad?

Listening to Beryl talk about the past made me shiver. I had truly been a nut...

But forgetting Matius wasn’t a big deal to me, so I was discharged from the hospital after a week.

When I was discharged, Matius rushed over with his eyes bloodshot, saying he had pushed all his work aside to see me. He asked if I didn’t want him anymore and blocked my car, threatening to kill himself if I left.

He was incredibly annoying. Thinking about how I had once gone to such lengths to please him, I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed.

"Mr. Pierre, I’m sorry, but I’ve forgotten everything from the past."

I gave him an indifferent glance and spoke politely, "Time has passed, and everyone knows the rules of this industry. I’ve made myself clear. I hope you’re smart enough to understand. Let’s not meet again."

I drove off in my limited-edition red Porsche.

I saw Matius still trying to hold me back in the rearview mirror. 'Nel, I'll make sure you remember me and how much we loved each other!

With a smirk behind my Chanel sunglasses, I thought that even though I had toned down my public appearances over the years, many people in this industry still wanted to latch onto me.

Since I’d forgotten the past, I wouldn’t provide him with more resources. Matius had already benefited enough while we were together, so he had to be responsible for himself now.

The next day, Matius showed up at the hotel entrance. I was annoyed and asked, “Are you stalking me?”

I picked up my phone to call the cops, but Matius snatched it away and shot me a pitiful look. “Nel, I’ve been a mess these days and unable to focus or perform. I think about you all the time. I know it’s not your fault for forgetting me, but please try to love me again. I can’t lose you!”

“Nel, remember how sweet we were? We went to the Arctic to see the auroras, and you wished to be with me forever. We never abandoned each other despite the gossip in the industry...”

He kept pleading, but I felt nothing.

Despite my resistance, Matius pressed me against the wall with his strength.

I stopped struggling and tried to calm him down, but then I smelled alcohol.

It seemed Matius was wasted and out of his mind.

I saw the mole on Matius’s lip that reminded me of someone from my past. As the memory came into focus, I reached out to touch Matius’s chin, and tears started to flow.

"Andy..."

Matius thought I was about to kiss him and leaned in, but was startled awake by the flash of cameras.

"Top star Matius Pierre caught in a lovey-dovey moment outside a hotel." a reporter joked. "How amusing."

"Stop taking pictures!" Matius shielded me with his body and ushered me into the hotel.

He tried to follow me into the room, but I shut the door in his face.

After all, he had caused this situation himself. Letting him in would only confirm the media’s narrative.

After a relaxing bath, the sound outside had stopped. As I opened my phone, a call came in.

The caller's tone was accusatory. "Ms. York, didn't we already cast the lead for Matius’s new movie? Why is the director saying it’s still up in the air? Matius had cleared his schedule for the film..."

I glanced at the contact and realized 'Jennifer' was Matius’s manager. I then remembered that not only had I forgotten Matius, but I had also forgotten everyone related to him.

"The director said the change was inappropriate," I said while admiring my freshly done nails. “I can’t decide this, so you’ve got the wrong person."

Everyone knew the biggest investor in the film was the York family. Who played the lead was up to me.

The manager got anxious, unaware of my memory loss. "Ms. York, Matius is someone you made famous. If this movie doesn’t go through, it’s no different from being shut out for a year!"

"That doesn’t concern me," I said, losing patience. "I have no relationship with Matius now, and this is my personal number, so please delete it."

Jennifer was stunned, realizing how quickly things had changed. It seemed I had become unreliable, and she’d need to find another path for Matius.

After I ended the call, my phone rang again. I hung up without checking who it was, only to find out it was Andy...

"Andy...” I looked at the familiar yet strange name. “Is he...calling by mistake?”

The day after, Matius’s relationship scandal trended for a few days. I casually skimmed through some posts and saw that my presence was already well-known among Matius’s fans.

"Oh my gosh, this woman must be Matius's bad luck charm. She’s pulling this stunt right before his new movie starts filming. Is she jealous of him working with Isabel Gibson?"

"I just don’t get what Matius sees in her. My OTP, Gibson-Pierre, is in jeopardy! I hope this new movie doesn’t fall apart!"

"Is she so ugly now that she’s hiding away? Why did she keep hiding in Matius's arms?"

"Matius is so handsome. He is such a stand-up guy, always protecting his woman and facing everything alone. He deserves someone better..."

"Matius’s actions are pretty impressive. He stood up for his woman. That's not a scandal!"

"She’s not even Matius’s girlfriend, and he’s single. Everyone knows he’s had a thing for Isabel forever!"

......

Reading their comments, I found it a bit laughable. They didn't care about the truth, only what they wanted to believe.

Public opinion could change instantly, and I had the power to influence it.

I wasn't a bad omen. I was Matius's lucky star.

I wasn’t answering Matius's calls for days, so he kept texting me non-stop. However, I only saw the messages afterward.

He said he hadn’t gone public with our relationship yet and that it wasn’t fair to me. He didn’t want people to get the wrong idea and wanted us to make an official announcement.
