Finishing my night shift at the bar I worked part-time, I looked at my watch wearily. I needed to sleep badly, exhaustion had become my clothing.

“I can't go home right now, my next shift starts in the next two hours." I said, slamming my forehead with my palm.

‘It was 3am already and I wasn't home the whole of yesterday, I'm sure Mikee misses me already.’ I thought excitedly as I gleaned from ear to ear.

“Where's my phone?!” I said, desperately searching for my phone in my handbag, emptying the bag in the process. I kept tucking my hair behind my ear to keep it from getting in my way, frustrated.

“F*ck! I must have left it in the locker." I said, placing both palms on my forehead.

The bar's section where I worked was closed and would only open by 9pm in the evening. I can't place a call on Michael - my boyfriend, now. I let out a huge sigh, expressing my frustration in the mildest way possible as I packed my stuff which was thrown about into my handbag.

“Oh! Sh*t!” I exclaimed, picking up a file.

I had to work on that file and I was supposed to submit it today. I had been giving excuses to the client for a week now and I knew today might be my last if I didn't do something about it.

“This is a h*ll lot of work.” I cried, picking up a pen and going through the first page.

It wasn't a one day job and I was about to finish it in a couple of hours.

‘ I better head to the bus stop to do this, so I don't miss the bus.’ I thought, as I subconsciously squealed in delight at my brilliant idea. Adjusting my glasses, I picked up my bag, slung it over my shoulder and headed for the bus stop, walking as fast as my legs could take me.

at the bus stop

Sitting on the bench, I checked my watch, “phew! I'm exhausted but I have to work." I said, trying to get my breath.

" Hello ma'am, the bus is here.” A little boy said, shoving my shoulder.

I didn't know when I slept off.

“Jeez! I'm so late!” I exclaimed, my mouth wide open. My bag was gone too. I didn't have the time to think much so I hopped onto the bus and headed for my workplace.

at Trinity Writes Cooperation.

“Alyssa, you're late again!” My boss said as I stepped into the office, causing me to bow my head in shame.

" I'm sorry boss.” I apologized, my head still low.

" A client has made a serious complaint about a project you've refused to work on." He said, his eyebrows narrowed.

I could see the anger in his eyes.

‘How I'm I supposed to tell him I've lost the outline for the job?’ I wondered.

“Speak!" He barked, sending shivers down my spine, causing me to tremble and quake in fear as the words blew out of my mouth; “I lost it!"

" Great! Just great! Today is payday and I'd have to slash your salary and after this, you're fired.” He said, disgust filled in his voice as he walked away.

I went to the accounts office and got my pay, bidding farewell to my writing career. With a heavy heart, I decided to get a little cake on my way home .

‘ I should make up for lost time.’ I thought, holding the box of cake in my hands as I walked a few streets to my apartment.

at Alyssa & Michael's apartment

“Hold on a sec!" I exclaimed at the sight before me as the box of cake in my hand went crashing on the floor. It seemed as if my whole nervous system had been disconnected.

“Tell me I'm dreaming Michael!” I said, pointing my finger at the half naked lady on my bed and a partially nude Micheal.

“C'mon, cut it out Alyssa.” Michael fired as he planted a hot kiss on the b*tch’s neck, making her let out a soft moan.

“You're not always around to satisfy me, so deal with it!” Michael said,as he continued to kiss and fondle the breasts of the stranger in my bed.

I watched as the man I loved so much wreck my heart into tiny pieces.

“Miiiii…chae…lll!” I screamed, placing both palms over my ears, shaking my head violently in a desperate bid to make the scene before me a dream. I tugged and pulled my hair to be sure it was reality , and then reality struck me mercilessly and without pity.

Tears strode down my face as my heart beats with every sound I heard; from the whirling of the fan to the mocking laughter from the lady who was having fun with my man.

“You dare to do this to me after all we've been through together, Micheal?" I asked, my voice shaky and trembling.

“You can't blame me Alyssa, yo…” Micheal said approaching me, as he signaled for the girl to give us some privacy.

" Where the h*ll do you think you're going to,huh?” I bellowed.

Letting my adrenaline rush freely, I charged at her with the little energy I had left, tugging and dragging her hair.

“Let go of me!" She screamed in agony as she struggled to free herself from my grip.

“No, I won't b*tch" I yelled back at her, tightening my grip, as if it could make me unsee what I had already seen.

Micheal landed a hot slap on my face, causing me to lose grip of her hair and land on the floor, butt first.

“You slapped me?" I asked, puzzled by his reaction as tears slid down my face.

“Don't ever call me again Michael!" The lady said as she picked up her heels and rushed out wearing just her lingerie.

“See what you've caused, now?" He asked as he bent down, squeezing my jaw.

Just as if he was struck by lightning, Michael let go of me and dashed towards the wardrobe, packing out my clothes into my suitcase.

“What do you think you're doing?" I asked , packing the clothes in the suitcase back into the wardrobe.

“Get out, and get lost Alyssa!" He screamed, throwing my bags out the door and my clothes.

“I'm going nowhere Micheal!, I paid the ren…”

" You can take me to court with your evidence that you paid the rent.” Micheal said as he lifted me like I was some bag of garbage and dumped me out of the apartment.

“I make the money you use in paying the house rent, you motherf*cker!” I screamed banging on the door.

It was hopeless, I couldn't just lurk around. Michael had made up his mind.

‘I guess I'd just have to go back to my parents house.’ I sighed, picking my suitcase and heading to the elevator.

“Hey b*tch, you can go with this too." Micheal said, dropping k
