*The world is cruel, every day is dynamic. Your happiest day can be someone's saddest. Even after all this mess happened to me, I refused to change myself… but not anymore. I will change… either for the best or the worst.

It was another beautiful morning, the sun was shining bright, the birds chippered from their nests and the roads were bustling with activities. The attention of the crowd was on an expensive car which drove down the main road.

"How far is the mansion?" asked Alex, a 16-year old boy, who sat at the back of the car looking outside with a gloomy face.

"Another half an hour, young master. We will reach there soon," replied the driver with a cheerful smile.

*I'm going to live with my grandparents, huh? I haven't seen them since I was born. Who are those people who suddenly invited me?

The car zoomed off and stopped outside a mansion with huge gates, the security guard checked them and allowed them inside. Alex was more surprised than he had expected.

*I never knew my grandparents were this rich.

The premises of the area was like a small city among himself. He looked around the lush green gardens, birds near the pond singing with their sweet tones and a few people having tea under a small shelter with seats around it.

"W-what is this place?" Alex asked, stammering. He looked more terrified than surprised.

"You will understand soon, young master," the driver replied with the same cheerful smile.

*Young master? I should have known something is fishy when he called me young master.

The car stopped outside a huge mansion, a servant opened the door and Alex stepped out, he stood outside the huge entrance which was opened by another servant.

*This is making me nervous.

The moment the entrance was opened, he saw his grandparents standing on the opposite side, and behind them were a few maids who held a few new clothes and expensive sweets covered with a thin layer of edible gold.

His grandma gave a smile and held his shoulder, tears started flowing down her eyes and she lowered her head and hugged him.

*Who are these people? Don't tell me-

"Come on, we have a lot of things to catch up on," his grandpa said with a smile.

The maids guided them to the huge drawing-room on the first floor with a beautiful view of the entire garden from the balcony.

"Wow, it's so beautiful," Alex mumbled in low voice.

"Alex, so your dad named me what I suggested, huh?" His grandpa said.

"I-I'm sorry… it's obvious… but I don't know you, people," Alex said, a little nervous.

He sighed and looked at him. "I know what is going through your head… I'm sorry to know your parents died in that car accident. Your dad was… was my dear son," he confessed.

"Mr Matthew and Mrs Isabelle, my grandparents?" Alex asked, a little sceptical. "But, my parents lived a simple life, we weren't this rich."

"Looks like your father has told about us before."

"Y-yeah, my dad said you people were the nicest and kindest people, but nothing else," Alex replied.

Both of them were silent for a second, looked at each other and lowered their heads with a sorrowful expression.

"I know that, Alex. I gave your father two options either leave the girl he loves or leave my house… obviously he choose the latter part," he explained.

His grandma got up and sat beside him on the long sofa and ran her hand through his head and gave a smile. "Your pa was a very brave man, he decided to leave all this wealth just to live with the girl he loves. Obviously, your grandpa regrets throwing him out but the past can't be changed anymore."

"I wasn't even there when you were born," his grandpa said in low voice.

Alex stood up and walked to the balcony. "I- I kind of miss them."

"To lessen your burden, you are going to live with us from today, we have recently constructed a new mansion just for you," his grandma said. "You have grown taller than your father. I can see my son in you," she gave a smile and wiped her tears. He smiled back.

"Ok, enough of this emotional talk, Alex is back, let's go and have lunch, I have prepared a huge feast just for you," his grandpa said, walking towards the door.

The table was filled with more dishes than Alex can count, he just looked at the various dishes in amazement which he has never seen before.

"So Alex, I have enrolled you in the prestigious 'Green Valley Highschool' where only the children of the rich study. It's one of the most prestigious schools. What do you say? Want to go to high school again?" His grandpa asked.

*School for the rich. I kind of feel inferior in this place.

"Don't worry, Alex. Eventually, you will get used to it," his grandma cheered for him.

That evening, his grandparents escorted him to his new residence, the house was bigger than he imagined and was near the back entrance for easy access.

"This place is so big, it's enough to fit a crowd. I can't manage myself here… this is too much for me," Alex said, surprised.

"You are my grandson, you deserve it," his grandpa said and patted him on his back.

"Go and take some rest, I will escort you to school tomorrow," his grandma said.

"S-sure," he replied and slowly opened the entrance.

NEXT MORNING

"You look good in the uniform, Alex," his grandma complimented him.

"Thank you."

Are you ready to go, kid?" His grandpa said, coming inside. "Make sure to have a lot of fun and don't forget to make some loyal friends."

"Let's go," Alex replied, grabbing his bag.

*I will make sure to make use of this opportunity and turn myself into something worthy.
