At forty thousand feet, inside a private jet.

The bathroom door creaked open, and a man stepped out, loosely wrapped in a bathrobe.

The belt was lazily tied, and a few faint red marks scattered across his defined chest hinted at what had just happened.

With each step, his toned thighs occasionally peeked from beneath the robe, showing off his strong, athletic figure.

Alexander Reed had never imagined that someone as restrained as him would end up doing something so wildly impulsive mid-air.

The moment he stepped out, his eyes landed on the woman lying on the bed. Her legs were slightly curled, a pillow propped under her lower back.

Meeting his deep, unreadable gaze, she explained, "Alex, the doctor said this helps with conception."

He looked down at Sophia Grant, her flawless face still slightly flushed, eyes hazy with lingering desire. Strands of her dark hair softly fanned out across the pillow.

After years of his careful care, Sophia had become the perfect blend of softness and allure—even when she wasn’t trying, her gentle tone could easily melt anyone.

He slowly leaned in, his tall frame casting a shadow over her. Reaching out, he gently brushed his fingers along her cheek, then lightly pinched her delicate earlobe.

His voice was low and rich with teasing, "Did the doctor say anything else?"Thinking back to what the doctor said—her follicle had matured and ovulation was about to happen. These two days were prime time.

That’s why she’d surprised him with her little ambush.

Sophia Grant had injured her uterus while filming before quitting the industry. She’d been trying to conceive for three years with no luck.

After finally getting her body back on track—and knowing how much Alexander Reed loved kids—she really didn’t want to miss this ovulation window.

They’d been married for years, but doing it at 40,000 feet? That was definitely a first for her.

She was so flustered and shy, practically burying her face in the pillow. "No, that’s all… really."

Then she heard him whisper softly, "Happy third anniversary, honey. Here’s to many more."

When they landed at Oli Airport, Alexander carried her off the plane wrapped in a light blanket.

As the blanket slipped, a bit of her ankle peeked out.

Her skin was pale like porcelain, with a faint red mark—subtly suggestive.

Guess the rumors were true.

Mr. Reed doted on his wife like she was his whole world—even shielding her from public view.

During those days in Europe, Sophia got a real taste of what “spoiled” meant.

Even though Alexander was swamped with business and had social events all day, he always made time for her at night.

Hotel rooms became their playground—bathtub, couch, floor-to-ceiling windows—you name it, their footprints were everywhere. For four straight days and nights, Sophia Grant followed Alexander Reed from one city to another.

By the time they were flying back home, she was completely drained, slumped in his arms. His mischievous hands rested on her slender waist, refusing to behave.

She tried to push him away. “Stop it, Alex... I’m so tired.”

Hearing her breathy protest, he chuckled softly in her ear. His arms tightened a little more around her waist, his eyes full of tender affection. “Babe, even if we never have a kid, I’ll still love you, always.”

Something cool touched her neck—he was fastening a necklace for her.

He kissed her lips gently, his voice low and tender. “Sophia, stay with me, always. Don’t ever leave.”

When Sophia opened her eyes again, she was back in the comfort of their bed at home.

She slipped into a silk nightgown, stepped into her fluffy slippers, and made her way downstairs. Mrs. Smith had already laid out a table full of delicious dishes.

“Where’s Alex?” Sophia glanced around. They came back together—where had he gone?

“Sir had some business dinner but specially asked me to make you a nourishing soup,” Mrs. Smith replied with a smile. “He really dotes on you. Picked your favorite roses from the greenhouse, and even stayed by your side watching you sleep before he rushed out.”Sophia Grant looked at the bouquet of bright, fresh flowers on the table, a soft smile playing at her lips.

She reached out and gently touched her flat belly. Over the past three years, she and Alexander had faced disappointment after disappointment, all because of the baby they’d been hoping for.

This time, she wished things would be different.

She had to get pregnant—this time, it had to work.

Unlocking her phone, one of the pop-up entertainment headlines caught her eye: a low-tier actress’ rumored romance got exposed—apparently, her boyfriend had visited her on set.

Sophia stared at the blurry image of a man in a suit. Her eyes froze for a moment.

Then she blinked, glanced away, and laughed at herself for even letting that ridiculous idea cross her mind.

How could it possibly be Alexander? They’d grown up together—they’d been each other’s everything for 18 years. Out of all the men in the world, he’d never cheat. Not him.

After dinner, she tended to the plants in the courtyard.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Alexander Reed stepped into the yard, the last rays of sunlight brushing across his grey suit, wrapping him in a faint golden glow. With his clean-cut features and gentle aura, he looked like he stepped right out of a glossy magazine.

Who would’ve thought the two of them had climbed their way out of the gutters, starting from nothing?

He held himself with that calm, elite charm. Totally the picture of a refined CEO.

Dressed in a simple white dress, Sophia dropped the flowers in her hand and ran toward him.

“Alex, you’re home!”Alexander Reed reached out and gently ruffled her hair. "Feeling better now?"

She gave his chest a light punch, voice low and a little annoyed. "Idiot. You can’t go that crazy next time."

He caught her hand and pressed a kiss to her fingertips. "Alright, whatever you say, babe."

Looking at this tender man, how could she ever believe he'd cheat on her?

Sophia Grant shook off the thought and tossed that entertainment gossip out of her mind.

In the following days, Alexander barely stayed at home—he kept flying abroad, swamped with work to lock down a big deal.

Sophia’s period had already been late by three days.

Knowing how busy he was, she hadn’t mentioned it to him yet.

Feeling both nervous and hopeful, she bought a few different brands of pregnancy tests.

It had been three years since her injury while filming. She had taken countless pills, had God knows how many hormone shots.

After all those letdowns, she didn’t dare to get her hopes up too high this time.

Waiting for the result felt like a lifetime. Her heart was racing.

As soon as the timer went off, she quickly opened her eyes and looked down at the test.

“Knock, knock…” A sudden knock on the door made her jump so hard the test slipped from her hand.
