'Tick' 'tick' 'tick'
The time was 4 A.M. I wasn't asleep or anything but just sitting in my bed. Waiting... I heard Glitchy in the kitchen. He was waiting as well for me.
Glitchy is the name I gave the Glitch. Glitchy was a Glitch who would trap himself in ones mind to take over for a couple months then the host dies... Sad. My Father was a victim of Glitchy, my Mother was killed by the hands of my father possessed by Glitchy. And of course me being an only child...
I have to take him on alone. I have no friends anymore. Since I've moved to Los Angeles I pretty much lost all contact with my old friends. The only friends I had when I moved here was a popular girl now, back then she wasn't so cool but when she made one statement about another popular girls outfit she became all the range.
I felt my skin grow with goosebumps. I held my flashlight in one hand and a pipe in the other. My backpack was behind me ready to go with all the tapes that summoned Glitchy.
I heard a pan bang on the floor. Glitchy must've moved and bumped something.
Glitchy looked like a glitch with a purple vest, white shirt, Golden hair and purple eyes. His blue jeans mixed with the glitch gave them a red hinted glow.
I was a small Teenager. Brown long hair, clearly female. Green eyes, and bright brown skin. I was wearing a blue shirt, and some black Jean's. My favorite red and white jacket on too. It was white except for a red strip down the sleeves and the collar was red.
Glitchy knew where I was but didnt come near. I knew where Glitchy was but didnt go near.
"Aye Glitchy?" I called out, "If your still here make a pan bang or somethin'."
A pan banged twice on the counter. We talked a bit. Always in code. Glitchy never spoke.
Two bangs meant, "Yes."
Then a sound of the microwave beeped. That meant, "The time please?"
I checked my watch. 5:30 A.M
I tap the wall Five times then pause. Then tap three times in 10 different areas on the wall.
I then heard a small chuckle. Was he... laughing at me?
"Glitchy? Why are you laughing. What did you do?" I asked.
A loud bang came. Funny... I never taught him what that meant. Then after two minutes a note slides under my door. I freeze as I hear footsteps move to the kitchen again. I pick up the note and it reads,
'How much longer will you hide from me? I only mean peace. I'm here to protect you from the real threat." - Glitchy
Real threat? Please. The glitch killed my parents and who else knows?
"If I come out I expect you to be far from weapons, you not taking over me and full respect and manners." I call.
Two bangs. I hear some shuffling as if he was moving. I grab my bag, throw on my shoes and grab my light and lead pipe.
I open my door slightly and see his glowing light from the kitchen. I walk near and poke my head out a bit. He is calmly sitting on a counter hands folded nicely in lap and all the dangerous weapons are moved... to the other side of the room. I walk in and he points to a plate. The plate has cookies
when did he make these?
And a note.
"Take as many as you want. They're just cookies."
I take one and split it open. Just chocolate chips inside.
"When did you make these?" I asked, "we had no ingredients for cookies last I looked."
He chuckled and held his hand out. I jumped back in case he was going to strike but in his hand was a store receipt. I grab it hesitantly. It reads,
One box of Chocolate Chip Cookies
Purple pen
Sticky notes
Price: $20.00
Tax: 5.00
"You really avoid talking don't you?" I say sarcastically.
He smiled. I took a bite of a cookie.
"So what is the other threat?" I asked.
His smile faded as he pulled out a tape. He handed the tape to me. I put it in my tape player and the tape says,
"Hello, you refer to me as Glitchy. I like that. The other Threat that I am trying to protect you from is your parents. They are not who they say they were. I only tired to come and tell you but you always closed the door, hid, and tried to fight. This night will be difficult but I hope we can be friends and work together. The tape person before was your mother. She tried to keep you from summoning me. I dont ask for much, just your cooperation."
the voice was glitched out but edited the best it could be to be audible.
Then he hands me a Sticky note with four words. One that I thought I'd never agree to,
"Do you trust me?"
I agreed.
