It was 3 a.m. when Braylee Ryan opened her eyes.
A man lay beside her with his face far away from her, and he appeared to be fast asleep.
She remembered what happened a few hours before as she looked at his naked back. Her cheeks flushed crimson with embarrassment just thinking about how he had fucked her five times the night before. How could he last so long? Well.. now she felt pain even when she walked.
She silently moved away from the bed while struggling with the pain. Through gritted teeth, she put on her clothes and slowly walked out of the presidential suite, carrying all of her possessions with her. However, a woman suddenly stood in front of her and halted her in her tracks as she departed the room.
"So, how did it turn out? Is the deed completed?"
It was Adley Ryan, her paternal half-sister.
With a nod, Braylee said, "Yup."
"Are you sure he didn't see your face?" Adley Molly asked eagerly.
After all, the man inside the room - Sid Peyton, a man in his fifties - was meant to be the principal judge of the Fashion Contest.
He had already assured Adley that she would win the competition, but only if she agreed to spend one night with him.
Braylee just so happened to be in severe need of cash at the time. As a result, she struck a deal with Adley, agreeing to take her position in exchange for a million dollars.
"Did you bring the cash?" Braylee did not respond to Adley's query. Her only thought was of her brother, who was still waiting for her in the hospital. That one million dollars would be enough to get him the operation he required.
Before pulling a bank card from her bag, Adley's lips twisted into a sneer. "I hope your lovely brother will be alright," she murmured, feigning concern as she handed it to Braylee.
Braylee took the card and kept it, barely looking at it. She turned and walked away, not wanting to waste any more breath on Adley.
She would never have considered selling her body if she hadn't been desperate for cash to cover her brother's medical costs!
Adley crept inside the dark room after Braylee had left. She undressed and crept into bed, carefully lying down next to the sleeping man.
When dawn broke, Adley looked across at the man standing next her. She nudged the man while purposefully whimpering coyly, seeing that he was still asleep. "Last night, you were a monster. I'm still painful right now..."
Hearing her words, the man suddenly opened his eyes in the dimly lighted room. His head was still a little foggy from all the alcohol he'd consumed the night before. Despite this, he had a faint recollection of kissing a woman beneath him. That woman smelt fantastic - almost intoxicating - and her skin was as smooth and supple as a baby's. Her best quality, though, was her "flexibility."
"I'll take responsibility for my actions."
In the silent room, his deep tone rang out, sounding extremely nice.
But hold just a second... that voice!
Adley hurriedly sat up in bed and turned on the bedside lamp, sensing something was wrong.
She then rolled over to face the man sleeping near her. What surprised her was that instead of Sid's wrinkled old face, she saw a young and extremely attractive man!
Even though she was completely taken aback by what she saw, she recognized that face.
It was none other than Cara Nikolai, the most powerful and important man in City N!
"I'll give you everything you desire as a thank you for saving my life." Cara had already climbed out of bed while Adley was still absorbing the identify of the man in front of her. He then proceeded to change his clothing in the restroom.
He looked scrupulously tidy and clean as he appeared. As Adley continued to stare at this Greek God of a man, he walked towards her, took out a glossy name card from his jacket, and presented it to her. "This is where you'll find my phone number and address."
On his well-defined face, his mesmerizing dark eyes sparkled. His thick brows and sharp nose complemented his eyes even more, with a look that seemed capable of ripping a person's soul from their body at any time. His suit jacket was hung over the crook of his arm, and he looked indifferent.
Adley clutched the sheet tightly with one hand and held out her other hand to take the card.
But he was already gone, like a wisp of smoke, before she could say anything.
Her thrill welled up like a fountain in her chest as she gazed down at the name card. Braylee would never have guessed that she would be so lucky as to sleep with the wrong man, or in this case, the right man, in her wildest fantasies!
What made Adley even happier was the fact that Cara had mistaken her for the woman who had slept with him! And it was all thanks to Braylee! Forget about winning the competition, all of City N would be hers in the future!
In the meantime, at the hospital.
A young woman was anxiously waiting for someone outside a surgery room. Her brows furrowed in serious concern as she bit her lower lip and nervously picked at her fingernails. She would murmur a silent prayer every now and then as she glanced at the indication above the operating theatre doors. Please, God, let Jared pull through...
The light above the doors finally dimmed after four hours, and the doctor, still in robes, exited the room.
The young woman hurried up as soon as she saw the doctor and exclaimed, "Doctor, my name is Braylee, and I'm Jared's sister. How is he doing?"
"Jared's surgery went off without a hitch, thank goodness. All he needs to do now is relax more, and he'll be OK in no time."
Braylee's face flushed as she heard this. Her sacrifice was not in vain at the time. Everything was worth it as long as her younger brother was saved. She was willing to go to any length for him...
