"Grandma, can you read me these words written in Daddy's diary?" asks a boy who is silently turning the pages of a book he is holding.
"Okay dear, sit properly and I'll read you a story in that diary," an old woman says while wearing eyeglasses.
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Terrence. He was raised by a wealthy family surnamed Johnson. His parents owned more than twenty companies all over the world. Tall, handsome, having a white complexion, smart and talented were the big shots perfectly endowed by God to him. Aside from that, Terrence's chinito eyes seemed to be his best asset.
At the age of ten, he usually engaged in acting and performing arts on stage. His mother spent him in workshops every day until school ended. Although he attended all of those activities related to the arts, he could also manage most of the time for studying academics at university. But, a father came into his life, insulted his hobbies, and even rejected his art education. These things get the child to rebel at a young age.
On the other hand, here comes Jirah. About 5'3 ft. tall, average weight, boyish, not so smart, and a very simple girl who loved K-POP movies. Her father's occupation is an Editor-in-chief at Pennovel company, while her mother is just a housekeeper. She was raised in a family with an average income per month, enough to sustain daily needs. Her parents were very supportive of her interests in writing stories, poems, and songs, which made her satisfied and happy.
At the age of twelve, she usually knew how to earn a living. She went to her uncle's bakery to help sell loaves of bread during her free hours, including weekends. And ran home with her commission salary. Then, she saved it in her piggy bank as preparation for future education.
One day, Jirah rashly went home with food in her hand. She stopped walking upon seeing a boy in the nook, crying with tears. It sounded like he was starving and alone in there. She said to him, "Uhm, little friend, would you like to eat some?" offering food from her hand to the boy.
"Thank you, I'm starving. Can I eat it all?" asked a friend.
"Yes, you can. Eat slowly, my little friend. And wait right there, I will get drinks for you."
Then, Jirah ran to the nearest store. She bought water and brought it to a little friend. Then, she gave it to him.
The boy was touched and amazed by his friend's kindness towards him. He thought of the things he had when he was at his home. The food he ate, the water he drank, the toys he played with, and all his necessities as a child were there in his house. However, being cared for by a stranger in times of hunger was his best gift from God.
Upon looking at the girl in front of him, offering food and drink, the words he just said were, "Thank you," with a smile on his face.
"You're welcome. After you are done eating, go home with me. Don't worry, my parents are kind." she said.
They smiled at each other. Even their shadows in the dark had shown their happy faces in the street. The little boy who was then lonely and hopeless turned to be alive from his friend's smiles. Then, they both held their hands while walking home.
At home, Jirah's parents were panicking while talking to each other, watching the clock, because it was almost late and their child hadn't come home yet. The couple had many speculations in mind about what had happened to their daughter while walking down the street, or maybe she had gotten to sleep with her uncle.
To ease their worries, they came up with the idea of contacting the owner of the bakery where their daughter was working for the whole day. But, the number they were calling was out of coverage, so they were even more afraid of what really happened to their child.
A few minutes later, they heard a knock on the door. Jirah's mother quickly moved towards the door knob, hoping that it was her daughter who had come home.
"Tok, tok, tok..." noise made from knocking on the door. Jirah's mother promptly opened it.
When she saw that it was her child, her worries suddenly vanished. But, there was someone who caught her attention.
"Jirah, dear, I'm so happy you were here. Your father and I were worried about you." Then she hugged the child.
"Mom, I'm okay. It's just that I came home late, because I helped someone." Then Jirah looked at his companion.
Her mother was surprised to see a stranger with Jirah. That's why she asked directly.
"And who is this boy, Jirah?"
The little girl smiled and said, "I will explain to you mom. Let me enter first. I'm so tired from work and I want to sit on my favorite sofa."
Then they entered the house and sat on the sofa, where she started to explain step-by-step to her parents what had happened a while ago. So, her parents enlightened the instances, as well as the reasons behind Jirah's coming home late.
Months had passed. The family accepted the little boy as part of their pact. They didn't think of returning him to the billionaire's abode, because the boy told them he was an orphan.
Since the little boy came to them, luck has flowed into their lives. The head of the family won the first prize in the Novel Writing Contest held on the third anniversary of the Pennovel Company. He also received two awards on the said occasion, namely, "Best Content Editor" and "Best Book Cover Editor", which each contained a substantial amount per award.
Not only that, they were also able to buy household appliances and set up a small family business run by Jirah’s mother. All of this had only happened since the little boy they adopted came into their lives.
However, one Friday morning, the fortune brought by the little boy was replaced by news that shocked them. It was a group of people who called out from their house.
"Tok, tok, tok..." is the noise of a knock.
They did not expect any visitors, but, surprisingly, when they peeked out the window to see who was knocking, they saw a group of uniformed personnel. In fear, they first waited for them to call. They thought that they might just be scammers who would invite them to buy their fake products, so they didn't open the door first.
"Hello, good morning. We are from the Country's Children's Society, maam & sir. Can we go in?" asked the people behind the door.
When a representative introduced himself, Jirah's mother immediately opened the door. He thought that their intentions in the family might be important.
"Hello Mam and Sir," greeted by the Children's Society representatives. At the same time, Jirah stepped back to face her mother.
"Hello too. Can we ask why you are here?" Jirah's mother asked.
"We heard about a child living with you for about a month. It was not your own. And someone reported to us that they looked at their son the same as your son's face. Now come here little boy," Pointing a finger at the boy. The little boy approached the woman pointing at him. "Look at this picture. Are you similar to this billionaire's son?"
The boy was just stunned as he saw the boy in the picture who really looked like him, while the family that took him in was shocked. For the second time, the woman asked him again and this time he told her his whole being. He cried when he said all of those truths, but he had no choice but to go back to his real parents and leave the people who had just adopted him.
Immediately, after the acknowledgement of the little boy, they returned the child to them and left afterwards.
"Little boy, don't leave me," begged Jirah, who then tightly held the little boy's hands.
"Jirah, I promise that I will find you wherever you are in the future. I promise!"
He then cried and cried, and turned his head back while looking at the family waving at him. It was the saddest goodbye for the two.
TWELVE YEARS LATER...
It was a sunny day. The waiting area outside the Nike company is full of fans of Mr. Terrence, the famous celebrity who has drawn awards from his first to fifth movie consistently.
Gwen, a twenty-year-old girl, is obsessed with Terrence, a. k. a. "KING of all Hearts" because of his charisma and beauty in nature.
The man just passed by the entrance of the Nike company for his signing of the contract as the new endorser of the product. Fans, including Gwen and Jirah, were patiently staring at the man from a distance.
"Aaaaaaaaah, Aaah...! My Gosh, he's so handsome. I can't take this anymore!"
"Gwen, who is he?" Jirah asked in astonishment.
"Don't you know him? Look, he looks adorable while waving his hands at us," Gwen said as she waved back at the guy.
Jirah still had no idea because there were many men waving at them and two handsome men were passing by the entrance.
"Who?" asked Jirah.
"Terrence Johnson. The most handsome celebrity in the world?" asked Gwen
Jirah's long-time best friend
.
Gwen had a sole parent because she lost her father at a young age due to a car accident. She had only Jirah as a companion on her trip and for her interests.
"Terrence?" It sounds familiar, but I don't know him, only that he looks like Wang Yibo of the UNIQ boy band, but he is already in China because the group has been disbanded," Jirah said.
"Oh no! I think you know him," Gwen said, to give Jirah a hint.
"What? How?" At this time, the woman thinks of some possible answers to her questions.
"Loading? Well, your idol, Raven Ton, is one of the best friends of Terrence Johnson. Earlier, the two had a movie together."
They both wondered what movie was the latest that the two actors they mentioned were together.
"Love in a sword," they spoke together.
"Hahahahaha." Laughing at each other.
"Oh My God! I love it! Thank you Gwen for this time. You made me happy to see him. Mwah," Jirah said to her friend with a smiling face.
From the moment she heard a lot of good news about that actor, Jirah started to idolize him and even wanted to collect the actor's movie tapes and pictures.
Jirah became paranoid when she didn't see her at once, so she kept on watching movies, cut pictures of the actor's face, and kissed it before sleeping. She dreamed that one day she would find a way to get closer to that guy. Can she do that? Let's guess.
