The room was crowded with audience and journalists, the audience roared with all their might, each having a question to ask, not giving anyone a chance to respond. She rose her hand high to silence the crowd, then she spoke. "I'm telling you that there is nothing as the supernatural, no such thing as ghost or witches nothing." Mirabel strongly protest.
"What about the reports on spirits caught on camera did people make that up or did the cameras lie." A reporter asked.
"And are you saying that there's nothing as a god." Another asked.
"So what do you want us to do forget our beliefs." Another asked.
She turned to the third and smiled. "Am not saying that everyone should forget about it just like that, once you get used to this idea you'll see you'll understand. The human mind is partially to blame you see we all wanted someone to lean one and someone to hold responsible for our daily life that our mind kept sending this idea to our brain." She signaled for something and they brought forth an apple. "Take a look at this what colour is this." She said holding out a red apple.
"Red." everyone shouted.
She nodded. "Good, I've heard people say you can't paint red blue, but I believe our mind can, it could blind us from seeing the truth, take a look at the color blind they think it's blue or green not because they want to but that is what the mind wants them to think so I believe that the problems of everyone standing here is that we all want to believe what our mind wants us to believe". She shouted. "It can blind us from seeing the truth, that these stuffs are just the work of our mind, they are illusions and nothing more."
"Are you saying that there is no god." Another asked.
Her eyes caught the attention of the man, who was staring boldy at her. She watched as I smiled at her and got confused, not remembering what to say, or what to do until I waved at her snapping her mind back to reality. "Well, well... I guess am saying that if there's nothing as the supernatural then there's nothing as a god. Thank you."
I stood up and walked out of the room before she could, and while looking back I saw as she grabbed her things and ran out from the conference room in persue of me, forcing me to hide at a corner. Once she arrived, she stood still searching for me, then there was a honk. She walked closer to the vehicle and smiled at the young man who seems to be waiting for her, he's slightly taller than she is, with red lips and has dark ebony hair and styled in a nice coat, a scarf around his neck, leader shoes and she a young slim gourgeous lady with style and fashion, she has black eyes, brown hair, red lips and a hot figure. She walks up to him puts her arms around him and gave him a kiss. "And the meeting." He asked.
"Nailed it." She repiled with a smile. I smiled when I saw her finger, I had no idea these two got engaged. "And my things?" She asked.
His mood appears a bit down once she asked for her things. "Right in the car now are you sure you don't want your driver to drop you off, I don't think it's a good idea to leave 3 days before the wedding". He said with concern written all over his face.
"Am sure, I'll leave today and come back tomorrow I swear, trust me Peter." She pleaded.
Her fiancé was clearly distressed. "I do trust you that's why I'm letting you go this once." He paused and caressed his temple, while trying to process what he wants to say. "Its just, be safe ok."
"Sure Dad, love you." She teased him with a laugh. This young lady's life was about to change for good. As she said her last goodbye to him and she drove off, her hand still shooting out of the window and waving back at him.
.[Mirabel].
It took a long drive for me to arrive at my destination and once I did I felt at peace. I parked my car somewhere in the woods and walked down to my destination. Camping in the woods during the winter was something my family and I would always do during the winter but all that changed when my mother passed away, my sister and father lost their touch in just one day, gosh I which I can turn back the hand of time, no more trips I guess. There was a cabin in the woods where we usually took shelter from the cold ice, that's where I'll be staying so I can have some alone time. After eating I stood up and wandered around with my bag filled with my ice skates.
I could remember there was a river nearby and with a winter like this I bet it's frozen solid.
I ran around and at last I found it the frozen little river, I sat down and put on my skates and finally started skating. I never realized how much time I spent there and when I finally remembered to head back I stopped skating but am already in the middle of the river, I look up to the sky and inhale the cold breeze. Soon I'll be married and my singlehood will be over, I wonder how that feels, whenever I try to ask father all he says doesn't make sense so I stopped, and now, am nervours. What was that! I hear a crack again and I immediately look down but my fear was confirmed the ice was cracking "FUCK" I said in whisper as I began running for my life. I ran and ran till I could hardly breathe and when I think am almost there the ice breaks and I fall in and just like that I had a black out.
I woke up and wondered if I were still asleep or not because it was dark and I could hardly see a thing, no lights, no lamps nothing but then I heard footsteps and for a reason I have no idea about I pretend to be asleep. When I tried peeping I saw two ladies walk in and with them were candles which they used to lighten up the room and in a minute the place was bright. I looked around for a while adoring the ceiling and the walls which were painted in beautiful peach and the bed made to perfection, I kept staring at the room that I never knew when I fell asleep again.
I woke up when I felt a strong presence next to me, I turned to see who it was and behold a man who looked younger than Peter, he was seated and he bowed his head down and crossed his hand above his chest, his hair was long and appeared wet maybe he took a shower before coming in. His hair covered his face so I couldn't see who it was. But he looked classy and elegant with style and I have to admit am impressed. "You're awake." He said still maintaining his position.
"Yes." I replied. I honestly thought he was asleep but turns out he's not.
"Good, you were asleep all night, I began to worry." He said then I remembered I'm meant to be heading back to the city today, I'm two days away from my wedding. I tried to stand but I couldn't, my legs didn't have the strength to, I reached for the drawer next to me to support myself and fell like a baby but before I could reach the floor I felt someone grab me. "Careful." he said to me. "where are you going Miss."
"Its Mirabel." I completed. I was about to stand on my feet again when I felt him back away slowly still maintaining our position he whispered something. "What?" I asked, but he seemed to be elsewhere but whispered again.
"He proposed." Oh, he's talking about Peter. Maybe he must had seen me on TV and had no idea he porposed. He sat me down and tucked me in, he smiled charmingly and continued. " So you're getting married."
I nodded. "Yes."
"What's he like?" He asked. I began to wonder where to start from.
I sat up and looked down at my ring. Am not sure what to say about him but I have to start somewhere. "Well he's kind and loves hiking we've gone on many tours and traveled to places, he's really open and runs a company." I replied.
"And where did you two meet."
"We grew up together and lived as neighbors before we finally moved out to our very own apartment and then bought a house, and now we're getting married, which is why I must leave." I answered, but he hardly said a word until.
"Looks like you two are madly in love, you both did everything together, I wish you two good luck on your wedding, I would had let you go, except you can't even stand so have some rest, then leave as early as possible tomorrow, my family doesn't welcome visitors." He said. He seems like a very nice man, but then I feel like he didn't really mean anything he said, like everything was just sarcasm. I have no idea of where I am maybe he'll show me the way out, but from the sound of his voice he wouldn't want to see me by tomorrow.
Later that night I noticed a shadow outside two shadows, one wanted to get in and the other was stopping him, how could he leave the door opened. The one stopping the other looked like the man who saved me and the other seemed to be his family member after all he did warn me about them and visitors, soon they both left, and I fell asleep.
