As I left the store to go home to my Nana, I couldn't help but smile at the beautiful faces I passed in the streets. A few were familiar but some were complete strangers. It was a beautiful summer evening and I could see tourists been guided around by their guides. I sighed and tried to maintain my smile.

"I wish it could be me following a crowd of tourists,touring beautiful cities like Paris,New Jersey,Lagos, Korea...just anywhere" I whispered 

I held the grocery bag tightly in my hands. I wouldn't like to pour them allover the floor the same way I did the last time. Nana wasn't pleased about that,at all!! I placed my eyes on the busy streets as everyone rushed home. That was when I saw him... Long gothic black coat,a big black boot and wait!!! Is that a sword?? Who uses that these days? For God's sake,it's the 21st century. I didn't even catch a glimpse of his face. I hastened my steps so I could take a look at him or maybe steal one. I watched his long legs walk him by,he was so damn fast. He hit a man's shoulder as he walked past but what intrigued me was the fact that the man felt nothing and it looked like he walked right through the man. Maybe I was imagining things, I had been working all day so yeah,I was tired? It happened again and I knew it wasn't my eyes making things up. I hastened my steps as I followed him, he looked back for a short while before he faced his face back on the road. His face was covered from the nose downwards. He was walking through the narrow streets and I had already missed the road home. The streets were smoky and really dirty,I ignored the uneasy environment as I allowed my curiosity to blind me once more. I had followed him to a narrow road between two tall buildings. It was just the two of us. I stepped on an empty bottle and froze there. He turned and saw me,we were both silent. I could clearly hear my heart beat through my chest. I heard a cat meow beneath me and I looked down to see Ash,she was an ash cat that belonged to my next door neighbour Mrs. Everdeen. I bent down,ignoring the fact that he had just caught me following him. I dropped the grocery bags and held Ash in my arms.

"What are you doing so far from home? Don't you know Mrs Everdeen would be worried? You poor thing,you're probably starving" I said and attempted to kiss her head but the smell she radiated held me back

"Let's get you cleaned up" I said to her and she meowed

I looked up but he wasn't there anymore. He was gone,my heart sank but I felt a little relieved because I didn't have to explain what I was doing following him. Maybe he wasn't real,I have a creative mind and I imagine things too much.

I picked up the grocery bags in one hand and held Ash on my other arm. It would be a terrible walk home for me since I was holding Ash. As I got into our quiet and peaceful neighbourhood,I felt more relieved. I reached the front yard of Mrs Everdeen's house but got upset. Her car wasn't there so that meant she wasn't back from work. I walked to our house and met the alma of soup from the kitchen. I dropped Ash immediately and walked into the kitchen. Nana was too drowned in her cooking that she didn't notice my presence. I wanted to freak her out that instant but I remembered that the doctor said the last thing she needed was fright. I held her shoulders in sweet embrace as I peeped at the boiling pot. Beef pot soup!!yummy!

"You're back so early today" she said to me then kissed my hands which her still placed on her chest

"Yes,skyla covered for me. I'm here to see you smile" I said as I arranged the groceries

Ash meowed below me and we both looked at her cute face.

"Where did you get her from? Lucy has been looking for her for 2 days now" Nana said

"I found her in the streets as I was walking back from work" I said,leaving out the stalking part because Nana would rebuke me for being careless.

"Poor thing" Nana said

"I'll bath her now,she's smelly as hell" I said and picked her up

"And take a shower too,you smell" Nana said

"No,I don't. Stop teasing me" I said and walked out to my room upstairs

I know little to nothing about bathing animals,especially cats since we had never had any pet's or whatever. I placed Ash in my washing basin,the water was cold but I prayed she would forgive me. I poured it on her.

"How do we do this?" I asked myself clueless of what to do next

I looked at my full bottle of shampoo

"Perfect" I thought to myself

I poured little on her and scrubbed her body. She seemed to be comfortable with it so I kept scrubbing her body. I took about 8 minutes doing that before I rinsed her with fresh water. She got down and shook her body pouring water on me. I took her and sat her down on my chair. I switched on my hair dryer and dried her fur the same way I would dry my hair. I got done and got out of my clothes,I didn't bother picking up a towel so I walked to my bathroom naked,feeling the cold tiles beneath my feet. I got into the bath tub and sighed,I closed my eyes and listened to the sound of nothingness flood me. I was brought out of my peaceful world by the sound of Ash purring beside me in the tub.

"You graceful thing" I said and watched her in the water

Weren't cats scared of water?? Weird!!

"My day has been odd,not like other days are regular but today is worst. Did you see the boy I was following before I saw you?" I asked her

She meowed and I pretended she said yes

"Hmmm,he was very weird looking" I said and sighed

"Don't you think? I'm not sure you saw him too. Cats do see spiritual things,don't they?" I asked her again

She wasn't even lookingfaceme as she played with the rubber duck in the water.

"Never mind, you'll just call me weird" I said

"Ally!! Get done quick so you'll eat. I don't want your food to get cold"Nana yelled from inside the room

" Thank you Nana" I yelled back
