Introduction
When Chelsea Smith started working as a maid at the Anderson Mansion, she never imagined that Adam, the CEO, would propose marriage to her. He wanted her to be a mother figure for his daughter, Audrey. Chelsea accepted his offer in exchange for getting a scholarship. Their marriage would only be valid for a year. They were happy together. They fell in love with each other. And even though Adam's parents didn't approve of her, she endured their insults. But when Estella, Adam's ex-girlfriend and Audrey's mother, returned, their relationship crumbled. Chelsea discovered that Adam had been manipulating her. He had only loved her because she looked like Estella. She divorced him because of that, even though she was pregnant. Years later, she returned to seek revenge. "BE the mother of my daughter. Marry me."

Chelsea froze, mid-way through wiping the wet spot on her boss, Adam Anderson's pants, because of his words. She looked up from her kneeling position in front of him, meeting his blue eyes. He looked serious, his expression making her lips part in shock.

"W-what?" she whispered.

Did she hear him right? Was this billionaire in front of her proposing marriage? Was Adam serious?

She heard him clear his throat. "You know me, Chelsea. I don't repeat myself. You heard me right. I'm proposing," Adam said directly.

Chelsea's hand brushed against a glass on his desk, causing it to fall and spill water on Adam's pants again.

"Damn!" Adam stood up for the second time, having been drenched twice by water.

"My God! I'm so sorry, Sir. W-wait, let me wipe your pants—"

Adam cut her off, stopping her from wiping his pants again.

"S-Sir..." Chelsea swallowed nervously as Adam brought their faces close together, his hand on her waist.

One wrong move from Chelsea and their lips would be touching.

"I hate repetition, Chelsea. But for you, I'll do it. So, what's your answer? Will you marry me or not?" Adam asked seriously. She could feel his hot breath against her cheek.

She swallowed again.

"A-are you really serious about that question?" she asked in a small voice.

"Uh-huh." Adam nodded, pulling her closer to his waist.

"B-but why me?" she asked.

Was Adam really serious about proposing to her? Or was he just messing with her?

"Why not you? You're the one I want to marry," he said.

"But Sir, I'm just a maid..." she said without hesitation.

She was just a maid working for the billionaire, Adam. Never in a million years had she imagined him proposing to her, as if it was a simple question.

Besides, she had only been working at his mansion for a little over two weeks. She was new. She was afraid the other maids who had been around longer and had a crush on Adam

might resent her.

Adam stepped away from her and sat back down in his swivel chair. Chelsea could see his drenched pants.

"So? Audrey likes you. I think you're the perfect person to be her mother," he said, referring to his only child.

Chelsea sighed. She didn't know how to react.

Audrey was a sweet child. Chelsea knew that Audrey's mother had left her when she was still a baby because she had chosen her modeling career over her family.

And Chelsea couldn't believe that Adam would sacrifice his own happiness for his daughter.

"But is that enough reason to marry me? Why not just marry your girlfriend?" she asked.

She saw Adam raise an eyebrow. "I don't have a girlfriend..."

'Right. It's common knowledge in the mansion that Adam is very picky with women. He hasn't been in a relationship with anyone since Audrey's mom left,' she thought to herself.

"W-what if Audrey's mom comes back?" she asked directly.

"She's not coming back! She has nothing to come back to!" Adam said emphatically, his every word carrying weight. Chelsea could see his jaw clench.

"S-sorry for asking," she said sheepishly. Adam seemed to change his mood.

"Just answer me with a yes or no, Chelsea. If you marry me, I will give you everything you want. I'll put you through school. I'll help you achieve your dreams," Adam said to her.

Chelsea pondered. She was an only child. She had no siblings. And ever since her parents died in an accident two weeks ago, she had been completely alone.

She had two cousins, Victoria and Christina. But they bullied her and looked down on her. Even their parents, instead of supporting her and sending her to school, had kicked her out. That's why she dropped out of school. She was saving money to go back to school, and then she started working for Adam.

"Y-you'll send me to school?" she whispered.

Adam played with his pen on the desk, then looked up at her. "You're still young. You're only twenty-one. And I know what happened in your life before you came to work for me. I'll send you to any university you want. If you want, we can get revenge on your cousins..." A corner of Adam's lip rose.

She knew Adam was ruthless in business, so she wasn't surprised by his last statement.

But that wasn't the focus of her attention. It was the fact that he was going to send her to school. She wanted to be an architect. It was her dream. She wanted to graduate.

"Audrey loves you. And I know that you're close to her heart too. I want to give her a complete family. Just be her Mom, and marry me. I'll take care of you."

Chelsea let out a breath, closing her eyes. Just thinking about being able to go to school and prove her cousins wrong was making her heart pound.

"I'll be out of town for a few days on business. I'll give you a week to think about my proposal—,"

"N-no need," she interrupted Adam. "I-It's a y-yes. I accept your proposal. B-but, just give me everything I need," she said, looking directly into Adam's blue eyes.

She didn't need to prolong her decision. She knew she wasn't losing anything by accepting his proposal. She knew she would benefit from this.

She saw a corner of his lip rise. He came closer to her and pulled her to his waist again.

She was surprised by his action, but didn't show it. She just placed her hands on his chest to keep them from getting any closer. The air would have been too shy to pass between them, they were so close.

"From now on, you're not the billionaire's maid anymore. You're the billionaire's wife," he said. "And yes, I'll give you everything. I can even make you my queen, Chelsea."

Chelsea's heart pounded loudly at Adam's words.

She closed her eyes. She hoped she wouldn't regret her decision. Because she was doing this not just for herself. But for her parents too.

"Go now. See you in a week. When I come back, we'll start planning our wedding."

Chelsea opened her eyes, feeling a soft object touch her lips. She realized it was Adam's lips. He had kissed her.

"I can't wait to kiss you again, my future wife," he whispered huskily.
