Somewhere in the narrow alleys of the capital city, four bold and fierce girls had cornered a beautiful girl.
"Ruby, you bitch! How dare you try to seduce my male idol, senior Jackson? How could you spend more than two hours with him at the café? Are you asking for death?"
A short-haired girl was roughly shoving Ruby back and forth.
That girl's name was Laura Reed—Ruby’s classmate. She had a curvy figure but a rather plain face. However, she came from a very wealthy family and was counted among the elite at College.
The other three girls with Laura were nothing more than her minions.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t even know him! He was just a flyer distributor!" Ruby looked confused and flustered.
It was just yesterday when she accepted a flyer on the street and was then forcibly dragged into a coffee shop, where she spent over two hours listening to a strange boy’s fitness promotion speech. Could that really be considered flirting?
"A flyer distributor? Do you think I’m stupid? Senior Jackson owns his own company and is the richest guy in our college! Why would he be handing out flyers?" Laura shoved Ruby roughly with disbelief in her tone.
"Um... maybe you’ve mistaken someone else? The guy I spoke to for two hours might not be your Senior Jackson. This must be some misunderstanding." Ruby quickly replied with a calming smile.
She was just an ordinary, poor student. She had nothing to do with the world these rich girls belonged to. So, it was better for her to remain humble.
"Misunderstanding?" Laura snapped sharply. "All four of us saw it with our own eyes! You two were sitting in the café, laughing and chatting. Everything was crystal clear! How dare you deny it now?"
She angrily raised her hand as if she was about to slap Ruby.
Ruby quickly ducked to protect herself.
"Trying to dodge? Catch her!"
At Laura's command, the other three girls lunged toward Ruby.
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Ruby waved her hand in front and shouted loudly, "Teacher! Please help me!"
Everyone was startled and turned to look in the direction she had pointed.
Her trick worked. She immediately shoved the girls lightly and bolted from there.
"She ran! Go after her! I won’t let her go without teaching her a lesson today!"
Laura shouted, and the three girls took off without wasting a second.
Ruby ran as if her life depended on it. Her speed was like an arrow—fast and determined. In just a few moments, she had left the girls far behind.
She thought to herself, "Looks like I just broke the college's sprint record!"
But just then, something heavy suddenly fell from above and landed on her.
"Ouch! What the..." she cried out in pain, "Who the hell threw this from above? Throwing such a big object—don’t they have any manners?"
Ruby collapsed to the ground, wincing in pain.
"Sorry," came a deep, magnetic voice. A boy stood up from over her.
Ruby quickly got up, though her body felt like it was falling apart, and glared at him angrily. "If ‘sorry’ could fix everything, then what’s the point of having the police?"
But the moment her eyes met his face, her words came to an abrupt halt.
Oh my God! Was this guy even real?
Thick black hair, eyebrows that reached up to his forehead, eyes that sparkled like stars in the night, a sharp nose, thin lips, and a tall, striking figure. His white shirt was unbuttoned at the top, revealing a toned neckline, and his black pants highlighted his long legs.
He looked exactly like a model.
Ruby couldn’t help but stare at him.
