Her old rusty Alarm Clock rang so loud making her jump out of her sleep in fright. Though it didn't surprise her, she doesn’t think she can ever get used to the extreme noise it makes.
It was a very old alarm clock, so she couldn't blame it. “I need to get another one so I can wake up the normal way almost everyone in Golden City does.”
She pressed the little button on her Alarm Clock and pulled off the duvet from her lower body. She sat up and searched for her floppy slippers with her feet. She finally found it and wore them quickly, rubbing her eyes with her fingers. She stood up and had a very nice and long stretch.
The ray of the sun reflected into the room, and she smiled walking to the window. She peeped out and I felt a strand of my hair on my face as I went to peep. She huffed and got rid of the strand of hair, before using her palm to brush her hair neatly. She had a large grin as she stared at the street, how beautiful it looked from the third floor where she was.
The sun complimented her fair skin and her oval-shaped face. Her straight nose sat perfectly well on the middle of her head. Her slender neck stretched out of the window elegantly like a beautiful lost princess in a tower.
Then the thought of her going out to search for a job again made her sad all of a sudden. She pulled down her curtain in frustration and looked around her room. It looked so scattered because she hadn't had the time to take care of it.
"Today Is another day," She said to myself standing straight, placing her hands on her waist. She dragged her feet on the floor walking to the bathroom. She removed her night robe and finally walked into the bathroom. She turned on the shower, and she shivered as the water touched her smooth fair skin.

She is Kimberly Johnson, a beautiful twenty-three years old lady, also called Kim by her family and friends. She was born into a poor background which made life miserable for her. Her parents strived so hard to send her to school hoping once she graduated, she would be their savior.
But unfortunately, things weren’t going the way all of them planned it. She graduated with a poor grade which couldn’t help her get into any company. She couldn’t even show my face at home, because her parents saw her as a failure.
She doesn't blame them, She was an embarrassment to herself too. She hoped one day all these would become history. “I need to make my parents proud.” She always told herself.

She was done with bathing, and she walked out of the bathroom after cleaning the water on her body using the towel. She walked to her closet and opened it, looking at her very scanty clothes. She picked out her second best white shirt, which was already washed and ironed. She wore her white underwear and wore her shirt afterward.
She picked the black skirt she wore the previous day, she sniffed it and smiled. “This is still clean.” She stood in front of the mirror adjusting the look of the shirt and skirt on herself. After being satisfied, she picked up my hair comb and combed her straight blonde hair to her satisfaction, making it fall freely on her shoulders.
She applied her nude lipstick and wore her pair of shoes at the same time. The shoe was an old one but still looked very neat. She carried my bag which contained my credentials and took one more look at herself in the mirror before walking out of the door.
She locked the door and threw the key into her bag. As she walked down the hallway, she searched her bag for the last money she had on her. Before she got out of the house, she found it and counted it, feeling a little displeased.
"This won't even last for two days." She thought sadly. After counting, she inserted the money into her bag again and then suddenly, she hit someone.
"Watch where you are going, b**ch." The man roared.
"Oh my... I am so sorry, I wasn't looking." She pleaded and turned to look at the person she hit. It happened to be one of the men that lived on the second floor of her house. "Stupid girl." He said and her remorseful face turned into an angry one."I apologized, okay? No hard feelings." She replied angrily, and he began to walk towards her.
"What did you say? Do you know how much I got these shoes?" He asked angrily, and she bent my head to look at his shoes. That was when she realized she stepped on his shoes.
"How much?" She asked proudly. She couldn’t let him embarrass her early in the morning. The neighbors were beginning to gather around them, and she hated it.
"Does it even matter? It's not like you can afford it." He said smirking, and she knew he was just looking for trouble, and she wasn't in for that. Angrily, she dipped her hand in her bag and pulled out some notes from her neatly folded dollar notes.
"Here! Shove it up your an*s." She spat angrily walking away. She had the frown on her face for a very long time, and when she began to feel the pain due to the way she squeezed her face, she released the frown a little.
After she walked for some meters and calmed her nerves, she dipped her hand again inside her bag and brought out her dollar notes. She counted it and realized she gave him USD 60 out of the USD 120 she had with her.
She bit her lower lips firmly in regret, now she was stranded for real. “I should have just apologized and walked away, but my pride won't let me do that.” She was so hurt that she felt her eyes heat up but she quickly fought it back. “I can't cry because of an ordinary USD 60, which is a slap on my face.”
She swallowed hard, shutting her eyes and breathing out loud. She opened her eyes with a fake smile on her face and stood at the edge of the road waiting for a Taxi to pass by.
After exactly fifteen minutes, she sighted a Taxi from afar and began to wave it down before it got closer. Her plan was to go outside Golden City since she already tried her luck everywhere in the City. The taxi stopped in front of her, and she bent to talk to the driver.
"I want a ride across the borders of this city," She said with a feeble smile.
"Ma'am that would cost you a little." He said, and her heart began to beat very fast. She knew how much she had with her, and she couldn’t spend all of it on transport.
"How much are we talking about here?" She asked, still keeping that fake smile on her face.
"USD 25 Ma'am." He said, and her eyes widened.
"I am with USD 60! And if I take that out, I would be left with USD 35! OMG!" She yelled inside of her while I kept staring at the Driver.
"Ma'am are you still going?" He asked, and she nodded reluctantly.
"I have no choice," She muttered, opening the door and hopping in. One sentence kept ringing in her head...
"I must be employed today. Because if I am not, then I would sleep without food today.”
