I was about to go to my room when my mom called me.

“Samantha Mhaie, come here, we need to talk,” my mom said with a strict and not so mad voice.

“Mom, can we do it tomorrow, I am tired.” I whined as I pouted my lips. I know that this is their weakness. My mom’s face softened.

“Honey, give our baby a rest,” my dad said to my mom.

“Aww, baby, I know that you are tired but we need to talk now. Please baby?” Mom said in her sweet voice. Oh no! she’s doing that again!

  “Mom!” I whined.

“Aww baby, you’re so cute. Come on now, let’s talk.” Mom said

“Fine.” I said and went to them. I sat across them.

“Samantha, it’s already the fourth time that your auntie called me because of the complain that she got from all of your subject teachers.” My mom said. “And it is for the same reason, sleeping or ditching in your class and now, we are worried about your performance in your academics. What’s happening? Is there any problem, baby? You know you can tell it to us,” my mom worriedly said.

“There’s nothing wrong with me, it’s just their classes are so boring, that I could easily fall asleep. Mom, if I say that I really don’t want to go to school would you allow me?” I asked them truthfully. Well, that’s what they wanted, right? For me to tell them the truth.

“Aww baby, of course you can. That’s not even a problem baby.”

“Really dad?” I excitedly asked but my mom pinched my father’s torso.

  “Anthony!”

  “What?!”

  “You are not helping!”

“I am actually helping, my love. I’m solving our daughter’s problem.”

“Really, that’s your way to solve your daughter’s problem? Don’t make her like you, okay?”

“Honey, her problem is she don’t want to go to school, let her….”my dad didn’t finish his words when my mother look at him with a staggering looks. And that my friends, my father is already give up. “I mean, Samantha, it’s not right to skip your classes, okay,” he said. I pouted.

“Thanks dad.” I sarcastically said. He mouthed “sorry”. He really couldn’t win any arguments when it comes to my mom. UNDER!

“Samantha, you need to be serious about your school, it’s for your own good my daughter, not mine nor your father,” my mom said worriedly.

“Your mom was right, don’t waste your own future because of your laziness.” Dad said.

“Ouch dad! I inherited that from you.”

“Oh no! Samantha, I am not lazy, just a little bit, but not like you.” I pout. My father is very defensive.

“Enough! Both of you, you’re both are just the same.” Both of us zipped our mouth. Surrendering to her.

“Please baby? Do it for us.” My mom pleaded. I sighed. Well, I cannot say no to them.

“Fine..” I said. Both of them smiled. They look at each other. I have a feeling that they want to say something else other than my wicked doing in school.

“One more thing.” This time, dad is the one who is serious.

“What is it, Dad?” I asked. I nervously asked her.

“We’ve been talking about it for the past months, and we both decided, that it’s the best time to go home in the Philippines. You will continue your study there and we will stay there for good.”

  Oh no!
