So as I look out over the aspen mountains drinking my coffee before work I thought, what a view so peaceful like a picture and i'm the only one here.

I've worked so hard to get here, and looking at the view it was worth every top ramen noodle I ate.

Hearing my thoughts you would think i was poor but in reality i'm from a very wealthy family.

It was a shame they didn't share my dream so i was cut off, yep no allowance and no support nothing im on my own.

But I can damn guarantee you when i'm a famous chef they will come running and say what a beautiful and gifted daughter i am.

I must admit at 25 years old I like my life, who else my age and from my culinary class has this beautiful view of the snow capped mountains every morning while drinking imported coffee, no one.

Not even the assholes of the rich and famous can dampen my mood this morning so with a heavy heart I must cut my view short and go take a shower and dress in my white chef outfit since its breakfast.

The rule is white for breakfast, blue for lunch and midnight black for dinner which is okay because we have an hour in between the masses for eating times.

Most days it's not an issue but on rare occasions things just don't work out.

The host for special events will be without a chef so I will have to step in mainly due to emergencies or sickness.

Jasmine is such a good friend that I never give her a hard time because Wes and Cory are hardly ever gone at the same time.

The breakdown is this: Im head chef of the restaurant, Wes is head chef for special events and Cory is the floater between us.

And Jasmine is the host with the mostest of special events, you know big parties, wedding, showers and anniversary are a few of the big ones.

I've been working here since 2005 when I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in France and Mama Isa in Venice Italy.

My teacher sent my resume to Snowmass ski resort owned by one of his friends when he heard he was looking for a chef with substance.

Never in my wildest dreams would I think I could work here in this beautiful place.

Working here seems not to be working at all but playing.

Okay I'm showered and dressed ready for work.

Breakfast was kinda slow so I get some prep work done for lunch before I leave and instruct my Sue chef who is great on what's prepped.

Okay then pair Bourbon for the Gentry and Oak aged Chardonnay for the Ladies for the dinner.

Main course has to have two opinions Incase if allergies to the fish so, Salmon or Lamb with buttery garlic green beans and roasted parmesan rosemary potatoes, both side dishes pair well with each meat.

Dessert will be Creme brulee or Key lime pie.

And for those who don't drink a Citrus Sangria or lemon basil spritzer.

Damn Jaz I don't get a warm fuzzy with this one.

Dining room is set so I head back to pull the menu and start cooking because orders are starting to come in.

The quest started to arrive yesterday.

Chuck is helping me stay out of the dining room as much as possible to avoid any and all problems from the engagement party.

Wes is back on Monday and Cory will fly in late Sunday night not in time to help, but great news never the least.

OMG i thought I saw my family Friday at dinner time I almost had a panic attack, no way, no how, do i wish to even see those people.

I would rather choke than know I had to serve them.

But Chuck was great. He walked the room once during dinner so I had no confrontation.

So, long day over kitchen is clean and chuck and i set the time to start over at the special events kitchen.

I had all the items sent over to their kitchen yesterday and did inventory today, making sure they had all the equipment needed.

Chuck, we work so well together, hey lets get some music going okay.

Menu was approved by the bride so everything was a go.

Dinner was set for 4:30 so we were happy cooking and getting shit done.

It was Jaz job to keep the party members out of the kitchen.

We had no clue the groom was watching us at the door with a very surprised look on his face.

I know I had a look of shock on my face.

if she would have turned around I don't know what i would have done.

She has been gone for 7 years and all Glenn said was his parents cut her off and kicked her out of the house.

I have looked for her when I went places but nothing hard core, I thought she would have come back long ago.

She looks the same, still carefree and happy.

I thought my heart was over her, that's why the engagement to Ruby.

But looking at her I got a tightness in my chest and I knew she still had my heart, she always did.

Okay so far so good, main course served and done and staff is clearing plates.

Okay servers we will do the same for the dessert head table first then the rest of the tables.

Halfway plating dessert Jaz came back and told me Glenn’s at head table the other 2 are at table 1 well, okay thanks girl.

I knew dessert was almost done cause I heard the start of the first speech going.

After about the second speech Jaz came to the back with a not so happy look and told me they would like to thank the chef.

Shit Jaz, this was a hard pass for me, why you ask, no face time less chance of drama.

I go to the restroom, fix my hair into a french sweep, brush my teeth and change coats.

I slowly walk over to the head table avoiding table 1 and my brother at the head table at all costs.
